Come to restaurant Isalba for amazing paella in the outskirts!
I dropped in on a Sunday with my partner who lives in the area. They weren't too busy, but it started filling up once we sat down with large parties. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas, and we chose inside due to some drizzle. It was a bummer because the outdoor areas are leafy and lovely, but the. inside is quite nice as well.
They have a standard menu with catalan cuisine (carta, not menu) and some Valencian dishes. We had the veggie paella and it was delicious. Real paella takes time to make, we had at least 20 minutes, maybe more, to wait and enjoyed some light appetizers. The rice was plump and perfectly cooked with a dense toothyness, but I wasn't a fan of the crispy rice at the bottom of the pan. Sacrilege, I know, but Jose ate it all up. Complex caramel flavor that was slightly sweet and salty, I really liked it.
Great food and service await you at this hidden gem called Isalba! read more
