Sopa del día
Guillermo M.

I was able to do a reservation after walking pass this restaurant and seeing how popular it was. I called same day to do a 1 pm reservation and they were super nice to accommodate. I highly recommend making a reservation as it gets packed. Place feels like home and they make sure you feel that way. They patiently explain the plates as there are a lot of options. Menu has English translation. Super authentic Catalan food, super tasty and good prices. They welcome you with olives and ask for the specials of the day as there are multiple things that you can choose from. We had the sopa del día, sardinas en pan tostado, the trinxat (cabbage purée with potatoes), the galta (pork cheek) which has a warm sauce with mushrooms and peas. All plates had great flavor. Drink options were plenty. Finally we had the tarta De Santiago which comes with a sweet Catalan wine. Epic meal!

A local restaurant near St. Antoni market. Family style place, especially has some strange but authentic Catalan food. The food is simple but quite delicious!

Tripe with chickpeas (with spoonful removed)

We walked into this place at around 11 AM and the waiter behind the counter looks stunned to see us. What's this asian woman and jewish man doing at this local joint? We would had never known to come here, but we saw this place on a vlog on YouTube (Mark Wiens if you want to look him up.) Even though it was 11 AM, we ordered cervezas. Even though we weren't really in the mood to drink, everyone else seems to drink with every meal in Barcelona, and we didn't want to look like wusses. They do have an English menu, even though the waiter / waitress' English was so-so. Between that and my bf's spanish skills, it was fine. Plus, they were quite nice. They just seemed perplexed as to why we were there. We ordered a huge breakfast. Tripe with chickpeas, blood sausage with an eggplant, peppers and onions mixture. Deep fried lamb's brain. This egg thing with tomato (pictured - don't remember what it was called). And since we got so much protein, we got the white asparagus with mayonnaise - you know, just to adhere to the food pyramid with some veggies. The white asparagus came out first. I believe this probably came out of a jar. The mayo, was mayo. It wasn't aioli. It was mayo. Although plain, we found this kind of interesting, so no point off there. Then came the tripe. It came out hot, tender with huge pieces of tripe. The blood sausage came next and definitely one of the best blood sausages I've ever had. It had that great crack when you cut into it. Flavorful, not too peppery and the veggie mixture with it went great with it. The deep fried lamb's brain was amazing. Creamy and went great with the side of lemon. And then, finally the egg thing. This was not what we expected, but it was great. It was rather simple baked eggs with tomato and finely chopped sausage. It was quite tasty. Everything was good and ate everything to the last drop. (Literally wiped up all of that juice from the tripe.) All in all, this was the most authentic, local catalan food we'd had on our trip. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys trying out rustic food.

This is a true local place - senoritas and seniora are sitting, reading newspapers, sometimes talking. The food is just average - yes, there are Catalan dishes you can not find easily around the town - but the taste is just ok. The prices look cheap - but check you "tapas" like portions. Just a normal local spot. If you are around - have a look, but the place is not worth a extra trip.

Came here because I heard it was a friendly traditional Catalan restaurant. For breakfast they suggested Lam's cheek and trips "intestines" i had the lamb's cheek (shown below) but not the intestines because my brother would not eat it haha....We lso had some type of sausage with beans that was ok and obviously miel y leche (their version of flan). All in all VERY friendly and patient staff. The owner is a amazing guy.... would and will definitely return. It seems to me they love tourists visiting them. Anyway check it out....Oh and I heard you should eat the lamb's cheek with Vino Catalan(wine). You can see it below....Price was very very cheap....all around great

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. I came here for lunch, and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long before I got seated inside. The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but it's quite bright with a lot of natural sunlight inside. For the food, I decided to get squid, codfish with honey allioli, and iberian ham montaditos. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!

Service: the owner employs his pet Pomeranian, that follows the wait staff unconditionally. This is a no frills restaurant; grab a seat anywhere you like, and order off the menu. What we ate: Table service - pitted olives; briny and herbaceous. So delicious as an appetizer. Crisp Potatoes - served with aioli and red pepper sauce; so simple yet so comforting. Fried Calamari - can't go wrong with crispy calamari. Pork & Mushroom Paella - I know we're used to seeing seafood, but pork and mushroom with crispy rice is different, bold, and worth each bite. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it.
