Resto has a two-item set menu for 13 euros - chicken soup / Swiss chard / rice, followed by fish / beef / lamb, and the portions were enough to be shared by two people. The boiled leafy Swiss chard and potatoes was a nice detox break from tapas. The veal schnitzel was delicious. They also had lots of other interesting items on the menu like offal and pig snout/ear. We picked this restaurant because it was already 10ish and this restaurant came out when I googled paella near my hotel. I was sad initially because they didn't have paella but then later surprised by their tapas. This is a local bar/restaurant and we were probably the only tourists. Although dishes were salty (especially the mushroom and sausage) and oily, they were all super delicious and flavorful. The pig ear was our favorite because it's not a common food ingredient (besides Chinese, and we love it). The tripe was good too! It's cooked to a soft consistency with chickpeas in tomato?based stew. They were all great portion and good with drinks. There isn't much service (just like every other restaurants), but he will give you what is needed. The restaurant is very local, give a very "authentic" vibe. If you live around the area and can't find a place try this restaurant! read more

The table next to us in classic Spanish fashion was having a bottle of wine and smoking giant cigars before heading back to work. Our server had a huge smile and was quick with his work. Morrysom was probably one of the best meals I had while in Barcelona. My boyfriend and I came in for some tapas at around 11 PM on a Friday night. There were so many things that we wanted to order. Our waiter was super nice - he heard all the things we wanted to order and stopped us from over-ordering, and I'm glad he did because the amount of food that we did end up getting was enough. We ordered the "small" meat plate. I say "small" because it definitely would have been enough for four people. It had four different types of meats, including morcilla and jamon, as well as some cheese. We ordered a side of the tomato bread and it was a great accompaniment to the meat plate, as it helped cut the saltiness. Then we had a bomba, which is a stuffed mashed potato ball - in this case with cheese, and then topped with some kind of tomato-ey sauce. One of these is huge, so one to share is perfect for two people. It tastes slightly different than a croquette, and I really liked it. Finally, we had some gambas de ajillo (garlic shrimp), which was the star of the show. The shrimp tasted super fresh and all that garlic oil just brought out its flavor. We loved it so much that we started dipping the tomato bread in it. On top of all of this, we had a glass of wine each and our total bill came out to just €23! Our Airbnb host gave us a list of places to try and this was one of them. A very local spot where you will rarely find any tourists or English speaking people here. We sat outside and ordered ourselves a good amount of tapas. Again, there was no disappointments here. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of garlic and broth (whatever they put on it). Their peppers were amazing, maybe a little too generous with the salt. Sangria was refreshing, as always. Their mussels were drenched in an addicting broth that was too good not to finish. If you're into finding more local places and don't mind practicing your Spanish, I would recommend this place. The tapas were great! read more

This place is packed and full of locals. We came here for lunch and there was only one server upstairs. I could tell he was pressured since he had to wait the entire floor himself. He tried his best to translate but was rushing to cater other tables. Not a tourist spot. I ordered the special of the day which started off with a salad, then seafood paella followed by fried fish with fries. There was no way I could finish it. I had no idea what the price was going to be but everyone ordered it so I went for it. This was my first seafood paella and I liked it. There wasn't much flavor to it so I used the sauce in my friend's mussel tapas. They give a lot of rice. The fish was satisfying and I wish I knew I could swap the fries for greens. I saw another table have fish with salad. The peppers tapas plate had way too much sea salt but still yummy. Overall, great local meal with reasonably prices. The venue looks very traditional inside with wooden chairs and tables. We sat on the second floor and ordered the Patatas bravas, fried anchovies, mussels, fried calamari, and paella. Everything including service and price was good. I really recommend this place for all their tapas. However, I don't recommend the paella because it's 1 shrimp, 1 mussel and mostly rice. We were first turned onto this place three years ago by our then Airbnb host. We've come back to Barcelona every year since, and to Morrysom's as well. We've never been disappointed! On Thursday, Morrysom includes a paella in their Menu al Día. This is not a random paella... this is the good stuff! It has so many tasty morsels of fresh seafood that you wind up going through a number of napkins. ...at least I do! As it is part of their menu al día, it is only the first course. The second spans a range from sausages to chicken, other seafood, pasta, salads, and the like. The menu al día also comes with your beverage and dessert included... all for € 9,50 per person. Wait, what? Yeah. all that yummy goodness for not much money. Now that we live in Barcelona, it'll be on our foodie radar a lot more often! read more

I first found out about Morryssom after it appeared on a Diners Drive-ins and Dives special. While I don't think it's any of those three, I was still very pleased to have discovered it. Upon arrival, we were greeted and took a table upstairs. English menus were available, although had we been downstairs then we could have just pretty much pointed at what we wanted. We got some chorizo (made in house), some chicken croquettes, some bread with tomato and oil and some potatos aloli. Everything was terrific, and was loads of food for two people. There is loads of space, the waiters are friendly and funny, and the atmosphere is "real" and authentic. We went there because of Guy Fieri's recommendation. We ordered a menu del dia . The Fideua (should be seafood pasta ) but it came with only 4 mussels. The second was battered chicken with fries which was average. There was complimentary bread and olives. Although the menu del dia should have come with a drink, they still charged us for it. Had a wonderful late lunch here today. The food was terrific as was our service. We had the artichokes, which were seasoned well and the hearts were full of flavor, just amazing. The Pedron peppers here are my husbands favorite. He's had them at two other place and none compared. Here they are blistered and service with olive oil and rock salt, they're a really good addition to any meal. We ordered a chicken wing, while its crispy it lacks luster in comparison to the rest of the items we ordered, I'd skip it unless you're kids are looking for something familiar (assuming your a tourist, which is why we tried it.). The best deal here is the set meal for 10 euro it came with a huge bowl of soup (garbanzo beans pigs foot and potato) and it was GOOD.. The set meal also came with a simple salad, roll of bread, braised and tender yummy pork cheek and French fried potatoes and wait I'm not finished... it came with a desert and a jug of wine for 10$ euro! I thought the guy made a mistake and though we ordered wine for the family... but no it wasn't a mistake, when I tried to tell him there was no way I could drink that much wine he said "one glass or the jug it's all okay!" The dessert was ice cappuccino I believe, which consisted of thin layers of gelato with a perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. We also ordered the clams marinara but they were not available today, only the clams in white wine were so we had them as well. While the clams in white wine were good my husband and daughter said the clams in the red sauce they had a few days prior, were excellent and that's why we went today. Even through we couldn't get the red clams today, it wasn't a disappointment we still had a fantastic meal at a great price. I stopped here bc of the great reviews on yelp. I was super happy with the food and the service here. Majii (sp?) was my waiter, he was lively and sincere, fun and attentive. The vermouth was delicious, as were the mushrooms and sausage tapas that I had. It's a great location close to la Sagrada Familia but it has a lot of locals rather than being overrun by tourists. It's a great spot for people watching whether your back is to the street or to the restaurant. I kept changing my location because of the blaring sun and found that either way that I sat I enjoyed the view. I had one tapas plate, two glasses of vermouth, and a bottle of water and it only came out €12.30. I almost left and decided to run back in to use the restroom and was pleasantly surprised to find that the upstairs room was chock-full of gorgeous men sitting alone at tables eating. Stumbled upon this place at 11:30 pm after arriving to the city late in the night. Staff were happy to accommodate English-only speaking guests and went through the whole tapas menu, showing us the dishes in display, which made choosing from the large and varied menu much easier. We ordered some local beer and around 6 tapas for a group of 3. The food arrived very quickly in generous quantities, and everything was completely delicious. My boyfriend saw this place on Guy Fieri's show so we figured we would give it a try on our last night in Barcelona. We were able to snag a table outside around 8pm. The food here was fantastic; traditional Spanish tapas that are done very well for a great price. Our favorites were the quail (a must try!) and mussels in marinara. We also ordered the tomato bread, potatas bravas, peppers and cheesecake for dessert, all of which were very delicious as well. We stumbled accross this place and are so happy we did! It's a small family owned place with great service. They made great attempts to make us feel welcome as the only English speaking people there. Currently studying abroad and this place was near my apartment. My roommates and I went hear randomly and it was alright but I was not impressed. I got wine, an appetizer, meal and dessert all for 12.50 euros. The vino was good and I got a large jug of it. I had paella as my appetizer and I was not impressed by any means. If you are looking for good Spanish paella this is not the best you can go to. My meal was chicken with French fries which was all right, nothing special.
