It's the only place we ate at twice during our trip to Barcelona...so that says a lot about how much we enjoyed it. They are a small store with a counter for ordering to go sliced meats, cheeses and other small grocery items, but also have several tables for eating in. It has the perfect quaint but comfortable vibe. The staff was so friendly and remembered us when we returned for the second time. Prices are slightly high, but worth it. They have several assorted cold tapas, sliced meats and cheeses as well as sandwiches.

Came here twice with my sister during my recent stay in Barcelona. Everything we had was so good but our favorite was the simple jamon sandwiches. The bread was just the right amount of crisp and the jamon was so delicious! I still dream of the sandwiches back in the States. I can't remember which sandwich I liked better - the one with jamon from the shoulder or the thigh but they were all so yummy. Will definitely revisit if I am ever in Barcelona again!

In Barcelona, my lunch of choice became the ever-present bocadillo - not too heavy, easy to find, and delicious! Most I grabbed by stopping at the first cafe that advertised them, but La Pineda stood out as well recommended, so I had to try it. Displays and displays of meat greet you upon first step into the store. My second impression was a waitress asking me if I'd like a drink - wine, cava? I opted for a rose cava. After I sat down, she brought over the cava and walked me through their extensive menu. La Pineda's specialty is an acorn-fed Iberian ham, which was some of the best I had in Barcelona. I ordered two half bocadillos - the jamon, and one with goat cheese. The bread was deliciously crusty, and the meat and cheese were generous and of such high quality. Despite the high quality, La Pineda is incredibly affordable - I think my bill came out to under 10€ for two half sandwiches and a glass of cava. The space feels incredibly authentic, but the waitress ably spoke English to me and was very patient.

The delicious spread! We ate it all!

Ahoy, I came here on part of a food tour. This was our first stop. I was unsure of what to expect. It is a quaint and pretty shop. I love the look and feel of the entire shop. We walked to the rear of the shop. There were the tables. We had a beautiful spread. Plates of various cheese, jamon, pan con tomate, and a few other delicious tapas. We had three types of ham. All were delicious with their own distinct taste. You cannot find great ham like this in the States. It was neat seeing the brace that holds the boar's leg from which the Ham comes from. Very fresh! I am also a fan of the various hanging meats. That is my aesthetic. Great place. I look forward to returning!

This is our second stop at La Pineda in the past 8 months. We specifically searched out La Pineda to have lunch on our most recent stay in Barcelona, as we had such a wonderful experience during our first trip. They seriously have some of the best pan con tomate around - wonderfully crispy bread, bright tomates with a bit of olive oil to give it some depth. They also put together some amazing charcuterie and cheese plates , but we limited ourselves to just some bellota iberico ham, and chorizo with a few different types of manchego. All outstanding. Paired with some olives, and a great bottle of Rioja it made a wonderful lunch and another great experience.

We had a wonderful lunch at this adorable shop. The olives were amazing - I asked to try all three varieties. Our favorite cheese was the truffle manchego - I will probably dream about that for days! The food is so fresh that you really can't go wrong. We paired everything with a wonderful light Rose wine that our server recommended. All in all, a fantastic meal!

In the heart of the Gothic quarter is this tight spaced place that will have you Iberico ham heaven. Dont miss the opportunity to feast on perfection. The place is super clean and the staff is very friendly and very accommodating. They are very good at giving recommendations on Food as well as wines. Trust them , they know the best pairing for what you order

I ADORED this place. From the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall. when you walk in you're transported into an authentic tapas restaurant. We got by just fine with English, but we noticed we were the only "tourists" inside. We did make friends with the guy at the charcuterie counter, as he let us back there to take photos with him. Another man, who seemed like a regular came over and had a 10 minute conversation with me in Spanish. Even though I don't speak or understand any Spanish. The tapas they have may not even be there the next day, but we loved the mixed seafood, artichokes, cheese, and I asked for Iberico jamon. Upside: Authentic, delicious food, friendly servers Downside: Not as many choices, don't get the pan con tomate (there's better everywhere else!)

Meat meat and more meat. We didn't even need to look at the menu with the leg of meat starring right at us. Service was friendly and amazing as she taught us about our poor friend who we were about to eat.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me.
