to make a long sad story short: promised timelines he couldn't keep. Needed to return a second day to complete the job but want to be paid the first day. Returned 2nd day, still didn't finish, but became very agitated when I would not pay him (until finished). After he left, I looked at his work. The work was 1. Install a clothes rod and shelf in 2 small closets (partially completed, but sloppily. (see photos). Attach baseboards in each closet (they were already cut and painted) 2. Fabricate and Install shelves in a small pantry and attach precut and painted baseboards (shelves completed and are acceptable), 3. Install a $2,000 closet system. (I provided him the instructions and link to the website to review installation instructions), and attach pre cut and painted baseboards inside the walk in closet. OUTCOME: Eric did not use the hardware that came with the system. Instead he used his own screws and nails. His screws and or nails penetrated the support wall INTO THE NEW, CUSTOM, MIRRORED pocket door. I have an appointment to remove and redo the entire closet system, and find out what the damages are to my mirrored pocket door. So after finally getting the parts required and having my contractor try to fix things, it turns out that Eric did a really poor job, cut the support rod too short. So he really did a poor job installing my shower door. My contractor was able to fix it, with some work. However it shouldn't have needed to be done. I had Eric fixed uneven door for me and it was small job. He came and fixed it in 10 minutes. I was reasonably pleased. Later I asked him to do mounting of 60inch wide about 65 lbs heavy sink/vanity without doing the plumbing. He said he could do it and I asked how many people and he replied 2 people. He showed up by himself. I thought this was not good and I asked him to come back another day with 2 people. He got angry and argumentative. I did not say anything much. He opened the box and was pushing the box to the bathroom. I told him to come some other day. He got mad and stormed off. I waved him back about his tools and he came back and asked him to move the box back. He was annoyed about this. Anyway he is probably skilled but he is not being professional about disagreements. Did an okay job... Eric and a helper came about 30 minutes late, which isn't a huge deal, since I'm working remotely. But I almost had to reschedule the appointment because his arrival time cut close to a business meeting I had to attend. Had a few projects for him, including installing kitchen ceiling lights, repairing a broken drawer, repairing a damaged drywall, and caulking around the bathtub. He did a solid on installing the kitchen lights... it looks great, and no issues there. He was able to repair the drawer, but it's still looks and feels a bit flimsy, and feels like it could break again soon. But no huge gripes as it's an old drawer, and it was fixed. Repairing the drywall and caulking the bathtub was less than satisfactory.... Especially considering he charged an additional $200 just for the caulking, I expected an exceptional job... but was average at best. He spent a total of about 45 minutes for the caulking, just 15 minutes or so removing the mold and the previous caulking. He didn't even use silicone... which I would expect for a hefty $200 price tag. He also left a mess after the job, which I had to clean up... again not a big deal, but I expected it since I paid a premium for the caulking job. Minus the caulking job (which was WAY overpriced after I did some research online), his jobs were good, and reasonably priced. He is also courteous, and easy to work with. However, when it comes to repairing drywalls, caulking, etc. not really satisfied with the craftsmanship or the high price. read more

I had a few repairs that were in need of attention around the home that included; a loose stair, a gate that wasn't hanging straight, and a shower fixture that had cracked and lost it's covering. Eric came out to the residence the day after I had initially contacted him, which was appreciated. However, he offered me a quote of $250 to repair the 3 specific issues mentioned above. I had assumed that this was an effort that would take several hours as well as a trip to the hardware store for replacement materials, as the brackets holding the stair was severely rusted and the shower fixture was broken. Eric ended up being at the home for less than an hour, and only provided short-term "band-aid" repairs. He did not replace the rusted brackets, and only ended up glueing one piece of the shower covering back on while neglecting the other pieces. In addition to the over-priced, unsatisfactory repairs, Eric had hassled me for payment immediately afterward. I asked for an itemized invoice and informed him that I needed time (24 hours at the most) to negotiate the payment split between the home-owner and Tennant. First, Eric waited outside of the home for payment. For the next 24 hours, Eric hassled me with messages asking "When will she pay me". I assured him that he would be paid that day (the day after he had done the work) but he continued to bombard me with messages. I found this to be very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. When it was all said in done, the repairs were disappointing and I believe that I was grossly over-charged. read more
