    Awning
    Ana R.

We're looking for someone to put up an awning because it was a big project. They did a very professional job. My husband and myself are really happy with their work. They were here on time. They were respectful and they did an awesome job.!!

    After the fix

They get my quote and come fast and fix it looked good and the price was reasonable the communication was clear and they did what they said they will do

After giving this company multiple opportunities over time, this last job was the final straw for me. I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt and allow a company the chance to correct mistakes, but unfortunately the pattern of behavior here has been consistent. After this experience, I can confidently say the other 1-star reviews posted here are very accurate. First, there is a complete lack of professionalism when it comes to documentation and communication. They never provide formal written quotes before beginning work, and I routinely have to chase them down just to receive an invoice or receipt after the fact. This is not how a legitimate, professional service operates. When you are hiring someone to work on your home, there should be clear scope, pricing, and documentation before work begins. I also want to be very clear that I have always paid them for the jobs they were hired to do. There has never been an issue with payment on my end. Despite that, I feel that I was completely taken advantage of and ultimately defrauded for work that was either done extremely poorly or not completed at all. On the most recent job, I hired them for very specific work. When they arrived, it quickly became obvious they had little understanding of what they were doing. Instead of completing the work they were called out for, they began doing random tasks around the area and later billed me for those things that were tasks I never asked them to perform. The actual problem I hired them to fix remained unresolved even though they claimed all work had been done. The work they did attempt was so poorly executed that I ultimately had to hire two separate companies afterward to repair the damage and complete the job properly. One of those professionals was a licensed plumber who had to correct and redo what they had previously touched. Paying for the same work multiple times because of someone else's incompetence is incredibly frustrating and costly. Another extremely concerning issue was the constant gaslighting whenever I questioned their work. Instead of acknowledging problems or addressing legitimate concerns, they repeatedly tried to convince me that obvious issues were "fine" or that nothing needed to be fixed. A perfect example of this was when I hired them to remove a water-damaged section of drywall next to a bathtub. The reason I requested this was because there were clear signs of water damage and potential mold. Rather than doing the job they were hired to do, they told me the wall "looked fine" and suggested that I should simply wallpaper over it. That suggestion alone was shocking. I am the customer, and I specifically requested that the damaged wall be opened and removed. Since they refused to properly address the issue, I eventually had to hire another company to come out and remove the drywall. When the wall was finally opened, it was filled with mold; exactly what I suspected and exactly why I wanted it removed in the first place. Had I listened to their advice and simply covered it with wallpaper, the problem would have continued to worsen behind the wall. Situations like this are not just unprofessional, they can create serious health and property issues. No responsible company should ever advise covering up potential water damage and mold instead of properly investigating and repairing it. At this point, I am strongly considering pursuing the matter through small claims court because I paid for services that were not properly performed, and in some cases not performed at all. Being forced to hire additional companies to fix and complete work that I had already paid for is unacceptable. I feel it is important to share my experience so others are aware before hiring this company. Between the lack of documentation, poor workmanship, incomplete jobs, and constant gaslighting when concerns are raised, this has been one of the most frustrating handyman experiences I have had. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before hiring them. I will say they are Nice people, but unfortunately not experienced enough to trust them with your home. As the record shows.

Entrance door handle was hanging down with screw inaccessible. OpenHandy team responded promptly to quote request. They were able to come the next day and fixed it in about 30 minutes. Very quiet and efficient. Well done!

I had some dry rot that needed to be replaced on my support beams. I contacted a few people. OpenHandy Pro were the most professional. they kept in constant contact with me. They were honest, straight forward, and gave me a quote over the phone. On the day we scheduled the repair, they came on time, did the job, cleaned up after themselves, and left. The job. They did an amazing job! They not only took out all the old dry rot but they reinforced the beams from the backside so you cannot see it, sealed the parts that needed to be sealed, and did everything that I could ask for. Not only did they do exactly, as expected but they did a far better job than I anticipated. Look, it's hard to find someone who is honest, and can do the job right. OpenHandy Pro really came through. I have a few more projects that I've been holding off until I find the right person. I just found the right person, and have told them the other things that needed work on like my balcony, and fence. If you are looking for an honest person to work on your house, give OpenHandy Pro a call. Their pricing is honest, and they do really good work.

Foundation, greenhouse assembly, electrical and plumbing.

We hired Eugene and Nick to lay the foundation for and assemble a greenhouse in our yard. They were always on time and courteous and did an excellent job fulfilling the contract as discussed. We will hire them for future jobs and we highly recommend them.

I recently purchased two IKEA BRIMNES cabinets with glass doors (30 3/4" x 37 3/8") but only to…read morerealize they were too heavy (over 80 lbs each) to assemble on my own. I decided to hire a professional assembler again and opted to try a different company this time for comparison. [Quote and scheduling]: Assembly Masters do not list pricing information on their website. Customers must request a quote via the "GET A FREE QUOTE HERE" button on the website or by calling their contact number. I submitted my request online and received an initial quote of $119.00 (flat rate with no tax) for one cabinet. However, I clarified that my initial job request was assembling two IKEA BRIMNES cabinets and the representative apologized for the typo. Unlike few other assembly companies, Assembly Masters require (1) customers to provide their full address and phone number for order confirmation and (2) provide credit card information to secure the appointment. I later called their number where I spoke with Todd who was very friendly. He finalized my appointment and processed my credit payment payment over the phone. [Service terms and conditions]: Here are some key service terms and conditions to be aware of - * FREE street / validated or paid parking by customer; parking to be provided for Assembler * All boxes to be located in the desired area for assembly prior to arrival * Attaching Items to the wall is an optional service - added charge may apply * Moving items to another room after Assembly is not included * Empty boxes and debris are stacked neatly for disposal by customer * Assemblers do not haul trash/ boxes away after service is complete * Assemblers are NOT required to move existing furniture/ Items * Pictures/ Video of assembly are taken by Assembler for verification [Process]: The technician Alvaro arrived within 24 hours of my booking and within the 3-hour scheduled time window. He was friendly and well-prepared with his tools. Alvaro was able to complete the assembly of both IKEA BRIMNES cabinets in just over an hour. [Conclusion]: Assembly Masters provided a reasonable quote and completed the job efficiently. However, few areas could use improvement including (1) allowing customers to pay in cash or by credit card in person before the job begins rather than requiring payment over the phone, (2) listing clear service prices (or price range) on the website instead of requiring customers to request a quote, and (3) offering to haul away empty boxes instead of leaving them to the customer. Personally these are relatively minor issues, but another furniture assembly company I recently worked with managed to accomplish all three of these areas in addition to completing the assembly job. If these points are not dealbreakers, Assembly Masters is still a solid choice for anyone looking to save time assembling IKEA furniture.

Finally, a company that treats your home like their own!…read more I cannot say enough good things about the team at OC Home Fix. From start to finish, this was one of the most pleasant and stress-free home service experiences I've ever had. My entry door is not a standard size, which has been a headache with other contractors in the past. Instead of guessing or cutting corners, the folks at OC Home Fix took the time to properly assess the door, walked me through every single issue they found, and gave me a fully transparent breakdown of the costs and materials needed before a single tool was picked up. No surprises. No hidden fees. Just honest, straightforward communication. What really set them apart was their patience, flexibility, and attention to detail. Throughout the entire process, they were completely open to add-ons and changes, never making me feel like I was being difficult or asking for too much. Whether it was a last-minute tweak or an extra detail I wanted addressed, they accommodated every request with a great attitude and without missing a beat. They did not rush the job. Every step of the refinishing process was done methodically and with clear pride in their craft. You could tell these were people who genuinely cared about the quality of their work. The end result? My front door and surrounding frame looks absolutely stunning. The finish is flawless, the repairs are seamless, and honestly it looks better than the day we moved in. I highly recommend them and will absolutely be calling them again for future projects.

Thankfully they waived the fee. I trusted that they would do a good job based on their portfolio. They were accurate in their timeline for the completion of the project and the resulting hutch looks fantastic, I have no complaints there. The main reason I am giving this business two stars is because their communication leaves A LOT to be desired. I asked for progress photos as they were working on the piece in their shop. They never sent pictures until I had to follow up and ask for them. They knew ahead of time that they were going to need to deliver my piece urgently because they were going to need all the space in their shop for their next project. Yet, they did not communicate this with me until the very last minute, what were they going to do with my piece if I was unavailable for delivery when they needed it gone? That seemed like poor planning to me. Upon the initial quoting of the piece, I specifically asked them to not only have the main mirror replaced by their third party, but also have the antique locks repaired. I provided them with a key that fit the lock to aid in this process. They returned my piece to me with not only the lock issue not addressed, but also with one of the cabinet doors not fully functional (which is not how it was when they took the piece at the beginning). I had to report this issue after they had already left. It was only then that he recommended I contact his third party locksmith to resolve the issue. His recommended locksmith (Sav-Mor Lock & Key) has been completely unresponsive, and I can't find other locksmiths who specialize in antique locks. I then asked Haer where is the key that I gave them when they picked up the hutch, and it was only THEN that they told me they tried to test the key in one of the locks and a piece of the key broke off and is STILL currently stuck in one of the locks (they also didn't specify which lock they tested either). I am extremely disappointed and frustrated because I clearly specified all my needs before they accepted the project, and now I received an incomplete service. They have also stopped responding to my communications completely, which I find outrageous and irresponsible. I also got the impression that working on my project was a chore for them, as if I didn't pay top dollar for them to give me their best work. Again, in terms of their actual craftsmanship, Jose (who I believe did most of the work) did a great job. However, communication is a huge factor in determining who I award my business to, and based on my experience I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting them with another one of my projects.
