I was able to book an appointment to start work within a month. Simon and his crew started on Tuesday and finished Saturday. They probably could have finished earlier but my family was still staying in our house, so they coordinated with us and scheduled which rooms they would do first so that we could still sleep away from the paint smell. The painting crew was very patient and accommodating to my many requests, and i very much appreciate the stellar work they did. They went above and beyond what i expected, and I strongly recommend them to anyone needing painters.

The quality, as promised, was lacking where the high gloss paint was used, and not done to our satisfaction. Yes, there was a problem, but there was also a happy ending! Based on past experiences with other companies, we figured they would push back against our complaints, and move on without rectifying the situation. Luckily, that was not the case. One of the most important qualities in any company's owners, is integrity. The owner here stood behind his work, and had a very experienced painter come back to completely redo the high gloss areas that were done incorrectly. It looks beautiful now! He also explained that since this job, they have taken steps to change some of their practices to improve in the future. Every company should take advantage of learning experiences, take accountability for mistakes, and put the customer first. Stubbins Painting is one of those companies. This sort of real integrity is rare, and is what makes me comfortable in recommending them!

That said, the quality of work was so impressive that I can forgive the slight communication hiccups. Would I hire them again? Absolutely. Would I bet money on the estimator replying to my follow up questions next time? Let's just say I'm not a gambler.

It's up on the second story and was an expensive outdoor/marine rated TV. I elected NOT to have it taken off before painting because I was afraid it would be broken. I felt that workers working around it with paintbrushes (it was covered with plastic) were less likely to damage it. But at the end of the day the screen was broken and I have had no one else working in my backyard that could have broken it. Maybe a ladder or a guy falling into it. I discovered it was broken about 10 days after the painters left. When I mentioned it to the owner, he denied it was his guys. If this was a regular TV, I would probably let it go. But this was a specialty TV. I asked for his insurance company so I could file a claim and he never sent it. It's obvious, once I paid, he just doesn't care. Additionally, everything he removed from under a covered deck....a set of weights, a weight bench, exercise trampoline etc., he left rusting in the bushes and never put it back after he painted. I called to ask him about it and he has still never put them back. I'm big on reviews as I use them to pick those who work in and on my house. Because he doesn't have the character to pay for things that he broke and he doesn't value things that I own by putting them in the bushes instead of moving them somewhere under a tarp and then putting them back....I cannot recommend this company. I will be putting this review in google and other sites. I will also be filing a small claims against him.

The service I requested was to repair the rotted fascia board at corner of the exterior gutter. Naran provided the quote within 10 minutes and clarified all the questions I have. 3. The value and quality speak for itself. Naran sent his team Slav to repair the rotted fascia board. When Slav came, he did an initial inspection and provided recommendations as well as how he will repair and how long it will take. In short, he completed the job much beyond our expectation. They also cleaned up another patch in the ceiling that a ceiling fan installer left looking like garbage. Best price I got for a full finished job and great communication and service through the whole experience. Hans and his team did such a great job, and turned any hurdle into a positive situation. Another very nice perk about MPH Construction is that Hans has a really good eye for design. He's been in the industry for many years and stays current with the latest design trends. He's able to spot any potential design "mistake" and provides his honest opinion about the design, but without being overly assertive. He is also great at pointing out opportunities to save on cost, which is so valuable! Finally, Hans and his team are extremely accommodating of our asks and always made us feel good about the entire experience. In short, they're the best GC in OC.
