I recently purchased two IKEA BRIMNES cabinets with glass doors (30 3/4" x 37 3/8") but only to…read morerealize they were too heavy (over 80 lbs each) to assemble on my own. I decided to hire a professional assembler again and opted to try a different company this time for comparison. [Quote and scheduling]: Assembly Masters do not list pricing information on their website. Customers must request a quote via the "GET A FREE QUOTE HERE" button on the website or by calling their contact number. I submitted my request online and received an initial quote of $119.00 (flat rate with no tax) for one cabinet. However, I clarified that my initial job request was assembling two IKEA BRIMNES cabinets and the representative apologized for the typo. Unlike few other assembly companies, Assembly Masters require (1) customers to provide their full address and phone number for order confirmation and (2) provide credit card information to secure the appointment. I later called their number where I spoke with Todd who was very friendly. He finalized my appointment and processed my credit payment payment over the phone. [Service terms and conditions]: Here are some key service terms and conditions to be aware of - * FREE street / validated or paid parking by customer; parking to be provided for Assembler * All boxes to be located in the desired area for assembly prior to arrival * Attaching Items to the wall is an optional service - added charge may apply * Moving items to another room after Assembly is not included * Empty boxes and debris are stacked neatly for disposal by customer * Assemblers do not haul trash/ boxes away after service is complete * Assemblers are NOT required to move existing furniture/ Items * Pictures/ Video of assembly are taken by Assembler for verification [Process]: The technician Alvaro arrived within 24 hours of my booking and within the 3-hour scheduled time window. He was friendly and well-prepared with his tools. Alvaro was able to complete the assembly of both IKEA BRIMNES cabinets in just over an hour. [Conclusion]: Assembly Masters provided a reasonable quote and completed the job efficiently. However, few areas could use improvement including (1) allowing customers to pay in cash or by credit card in person before the job begins rather than requiring payment over the phone, (2) listing clear service prices (or price range) on the website instead of requiring customers to request a quote, and (3) offering to haul away empty boxes instead of leaving them to the customer. Personally these are relatively minor issues, but another furniture assembly company I recently worked with managed to accomplish all three of these areas in addition to completing the assembly job. If these points are not dealbreakers, Assembly Masters is still a solid choice for anyone looking to save time assembling IKEA furniture.

Finally, a company that treats your home like their own!…read more I cannot say enough good things about the team at OC Home Fix. From start to finish, this was one of the most pleasant and stress-free home service experiences I've ever had. My entry door is not a standard size, which has been a headache with other contractors in the past. Instead of guessing or cutting corners, the folks at OC Home Fix took the time to properly assess the door, walked me through every single issue they found, and gave me a fully transparent breakdown of the costs and materials needed before a single tool was picked up. No surprises. No hidden fees. Just honest, straightforward communication. What really set them apart was their patience, flexibility, and attention to detail. Throughout the entire process, they were completely open to add-ons and changes, never making me feel like I was being difficult or asking for too much. Whether it was a last-minute tweak or an extra detail I wanted addressed, they accommodated every request with a great attitude and without missing a beat. They did not rush the job. Every step of the refinishing process was done methodically and with clear pride in their craft. You could tell these were people who genuinely cared about the quality of their work. The end result? My front door and surrounding frame looks absolutely stunning. The finish is flawless, the repairs are seamless, and honestly it looks better than the day we moved in. I highly recommend them and will absolutely be calling them again for future projects.

Project 1: replace the wood front of a one-car garage door. Perfect job and Sergey cleaned up so…read morewell I couldn't tell he was ever there. Project 2: not a door installation. Removed carpet and installed vinyl flooring in a bedroom. Also painted throughout including the door and the hallway bathroom door. Minor misunderstanding about where to hang the curtain rod, but it was quickly resolved. End result was a perfect, quality job. Project 3: two outside utility doors with custom sizes and no vendor to provide a louvered, fiberglass door for the water heater. OC Home Fix made a lot of calls, as did I. John finally found the winning door manufacturer. And OC Home Fix convinced me to let them re-frame one of the doors to a standard 24" wide so I'd never have that problem again. They honored their original price (we went from installing a door slab to re-framing to hang a pre-hung door). The final job was again, perfect! We agreed that after my exterior paint job is complete (different vendor), OC Home Fix will come back to custom fit the door trims for Project 3. It will be a separate cost, but all costs have been reasonable for all projects so far. I highly recommend OC Home Fix. They are honest, reliable, and show pride of ownership in their work.

After giving this company multiple opportunities over time, this last job was the final straw for…read moreme. I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt and allow a company the chance to correct mistakes, but unfortunately the pattern of behavior here has been consistent. After this experience, I can confidently say the other 1-star reviews posted here are very accurate. First, there is a complete lack of professionalism when it comes to documentation and communication. They never provide formal written quotes before beginning work, and I routinely have to chase them down just to receive an invoice or receipt after the fact. This is not how a legitimate, professional service operates. When you are hiring someone to work on your home, there should be clear scope, pricing, and documentation before work begins. I also want to be very clear that I have always paid them for the jobs they were hired to do. There has never been an issue with payment on my end. Despite that, I feel that I was completely taken advantage of and ultimately defrauded for work that was either done extremely poorly or not completed at all. On the most recent job, I hired them for very specific work. When they arrived, it quickly became obvious they had little understanding of what they were doing. Instead of completing the work they were called out for, they began doing random tasks around the area and later billed me for those things that were tasks I never asked them to perform. The actual problem I hired them to fix remained unresolved even though they claimed all work had been done. The work they did attempt was so poorly executed that I ultimately had to hire two separate companies afterward to repair the damage and complete the job properly. One of those professionals was a licensed plumber who had to correct and redo what they had previously touched. Paying for the same work multiple times because of someone else's incompetence is incredibly frustrating and costly. Another extremely concerning issue was the constant gaslighting whenever I questioned their work. Instead of acknowledging problems or addressing legitimate concerns, they repeatedly tried to convince me that obvious issues were "fine" or that nothing needed to be fixed. A perfect example of this was when I hired them to remove a water-damaged section of drywall next to a bathtub. The reason I requested this was because there were clear signs of water damage and potential mold. Rather than doing the job they were hired to do, they told me the wall "looked fine" and suggested that I should simply wallpaper over it. That suggestion alone was shocking. I am the customer, and I specifically requested that the damaged wall be opened and removed. Since they refused to properly address the issue, I eventually had to hire another company to come out and remove the drywall. When the wall was finally opened, it was filled with mold; exactly what I suspected and exactly why I wanted it removed in the first place. Had I listened to their advice and simply covered it with wallpaper, the problem would have continued to worsen behind the wall. Situations like this are not just unprofessional, they can create serious health and property issues. No responsible company should ever advise covering up potential water damage and mold instead of properly investigating and repairing it. At this point, I am strongly considering pursuing the matter through small claims court because I paid for services that were not properly performed, and in some cases not performed at all. Being forced to hire additional companies to fix and complete work that I had already paid for is unacceptable. I feel it is important to share my experience so others are aware before hiring this company. Between the lack of documentation, poor workmanship, incomplete jobs, and constant gaslighting when concerns are raised, this has been one of the most frustrating handyman experiences I have had. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before hiring them. I will say they are Nice people, but unfortunately not experienced enough to trust them with your home. As the record shows.
