Popped in from our of town based on yelp rating. Got the Cioppino, which was really good! Good service (at the bar), good food, good beer.

Iron Works Tavern has great food and a wonderful atmosphere. I had my work holiday lunch there. I was so excited to finally try this place after everyday driving by it on my way to work. I had the lemon quinoa and it was delicious. I am looking forward to going there and trying their drinks. Overall I loved this establishment. read more

Had drinks and an appetizer. The scallops were very good. Waiter was good. They were out of mussels.

Don't go here if you are by yourself. I was staying in the hotel on business and went down for dinner, they claimed all the tables were reserved but they said they could seat me right in front of the main door. I said yes, but being by the door I saw multiple couples walk in and get nice tables and booths without reservations. read more

The only good thing I ate was the Chicken Buffalo Nachos. The service was not that great and the meatloaf was probably the worst I have ever had out. Extremely dry with no taste. The other meal was drowned out in Balsamic vinegar. too many good restaurants in the area to bother with this restaurant again. read more

Had dinner here with a friend. Cocktails were well-done (I love a good martini), and appetizers, dinner and desert were lovely. Service was a wee bit slow, and I found the noise level to be rather high. Made it difficult to hear my friend across the table. I would definitely go back; maybe try sitting at the bar where it might be easier to converse. read more

Ate at Iron Works last night. The meal was delicious and the service was even better! Nicole was a pleasure!! Try the meatloaf!

First time here tonight. My wife's Birthday and we all are quite impressed with the service and food. No complaints. The gentleman who sat us came around to every table and was quite pleasant. Todd our waiter was super. Calamari was great and more than enough for 3 people. read more

Food was good, service a bit slow for being not busy. The desert we got lava cake but there was no lava, was really dry. The ice cream or whatever that was tasted like powered milk! read more

I've eaten dinner here once and hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner upstairs. The service and the food were excellent in both cases. I wouldn't hesitate to host another event here or to just have dinner with friends. In fact I think I'll go there again tonight. read more

Love this restaurant! Great appetizers. Sesame tuna is my fav. Dinners are always excellent !

I love the creative dishes at Iron Works Tavern. Their stuffed pumpkin risotto was absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the braised short rib as I could cut through it with a fork. I have never had a bad dish (including the appetizers, main dishes, and desserts). However, I gave the tavern only 3 stars as I did find one of the managers to be rude. Since the food was so good, I'm willing to overlook this "hiccup" and go back and try another dish! read more

The team was fantastic. We had our 50th birthday at Iron Works recently. The staff was great, the food was excellent and the night was enjoyed by all. The upstairs function room is perfect for a party of 60-80 people with room for a DJ and dancing. Highly recommended ! read more

nice place to have an upscale meal. Fancy presentations in a very nice atmosphere. Holiday brunches are excellent!

Excellent!!! Beef short ribs were to die for. I recommend this place highly. You won't regret it.

Fabulous food and Service! The owner Lori is the nicest person!!

I visited The IWT last weekend and I enjoyed every minute of my time there. We ordered the Lamb Lollipops which were amazing they were exactly what we had expected and delicous. For dinner i got the Seafood Caserol and my boyfriend ordered the Bacon Infused Meatloaf. We ordered both after asking our Waitress her opinion and, she wasn't wrong they were both great choices. The IWT is always a hit when I go the live music, friendly staff and always great food keeps me coming for more. read more

Went to the Iron Works Tavern for dinner the other night. I had the macaroni and cheese as well as the egg plant bites. Both were absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese was the best I have ever had and the egg plant was equally as good. The service and atmosphere were good too. I highly recomend and will definitly be back. read more

I have eaten at the Iron Works Tavern probably fifty times or more since it opened and I have never had a bad meal, service or long wait. I find they all go out of their way to accommodate you and your party. They actually go beyond this. I will continue to go there and tell others to go there as well. If I did have a negative concern, it would be directed at the acoustics end. At peak times, the noise element downstairs is not conducive to enjoying a fine meal. Otherwise, this restaurant is terrific!!! read more

Just got back from an unexpectedly long lunch at Iron Works. I went with a party of 4 this afternoon for my mom's birthday and we arrived just after 12:30pm. It was packed at lunchtime but we were seated right away and ordered fairly quickly. Our first round of parmesan truffle fries was a bit cold- they seemed like they had been sitting around a bit- but our waitress was very pleasant about bringing us a replacement and they were delicious! Then we settled in to wait for our burgers. And wait. And wait. At 1:45, our waitress reappeared to tell us that it would just be "a few more minutes." I was now well past my hour lunch break from work and another member of our party had a 3pm shift to start nearly 40 minutes away. At 1:50, our waitress reappeared to tell us that two of our burgers were just finishing cooking and would be out any second. She stated that the kitchen had gotten "backed up" during the lunch rush. (We were now one of only a few parties left in the whole restaurant.) We complained that it had been over an hour and asked for our check to come with the food. Our waitress sent her manager by- he paused briefly by our table and (without making eye contact) apologized for the long wait. When our burgers finally arrived at 1:55pm, they were decent (definitely freshly made) but inconsistent. My roasted mushrooms and caramelized onion toppings (which cost $2 extra per topping) were cold (they had clearly been taken out of a pre-made bin and thrown on top of a warm burger.) My cousin also ordered the roasted mushrooms but only received a single mushroom on her whole burger (again, it was $2 extra. For the single mushroom.) And while the other 3 members of my party had all ordered medium well, they received a range of very pink to completely cooked through burgers. At that point, we had no time left to continue to complain. The waitress gave us a "VIP discount" of 15% for our troubles- we hurried to scarf down our food and dashed back to our jobs. I was going to come to two working lunches here in the next two weeks. Not only am I changing those plans, but I won't be back here in the future. Service like that is inexcusable, especially during a lunch hour! read more

My wife and I love this place...great pizza'a, interesting salads, great decor, and diverse people who are staying over night, or maybe doing some traveling. The place is clean and has light live music. read more

We ate here 4 times over the course of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. Many of the menu items are similar in style and price to those at Legal Seafoods. All of the servers here were friendly and professional with knowledge of the menu items. For lunch we had the lobster rolls which were pretty wierd, they had lobster meat mixed with salad greens overflowing from the top of the bread. Kind of hard to taste any actual lobster meat, a lobster roll should be just bread with lobster meat and mayo. For dinner I had the flat iron steak with frites, talk about another odd mess. The steak was very good and perfectly cooked with fries on the side, but they covered everything with salad greens and dressing. My wife had the flat iron special which was completely different, it had veggies with rice on the side with a very flavorful sauce for the perfectly cooked meat. On another night my wife got the baked seafood caserole (perfect) and I had the trout special which would have been perfectbif the sauce was on the side rather on top of the crispy trout. The bread offered was pretty lame, it had no taste or texture whatsoever. Overall it is a very upbeat place to drink or dine without paying thru the nose, just pay attention to the menu descriptions. read more

We have visited IWT before, hosting a Rehearsal Dinner for my son and now wife. The room was incredible. They put us upstairs in the 'Great Room' which was perfect. The room included the bar in a private setting. Roomy enough so the guests could roam around and chat with each other. My daughter is getting married soon. We thought, "lets go with tried and true" and called IWT. We requested the same room. We were told it was available. We were very pleased. Not long after, the 'event coordinator' emailed me with a link to the contract that had to be signed and informed me that we would be in the Thomas Jefferson room. I explained that we had booked the Great Room. He stated that there was a party larger than ours so they were put in the room we requested. He followed with "we have the RIGHT to move parties as needed". I asked if this party booked before or after us. He said after!! That was it for me. The event coordinator was quite arrogant at the end of our discussion. Just last night I called asking for the General Manager. I was told he stepped out but would be given the message that I called and my phone number... NO CALL !!! Be aware of their practice and 'policies' read more

Tried Ironworks for the first time for lunch prior, to catching the 2pm matinee up the street at the new Ocean State Theater. First look at the menu very positive, nice assortment. They have a section dedicated to homemade mac and cheese with the option to add Trufffle oil, lobster, shrimp, bacon and combos thereof. The server did highly recommend it, so I went with it. To me it was more of a buttered pasta, not very cheesy. For $21 there was a good amount of lobster and shrimp in it, however, my biggest pet peeve...soggy bacon...yuk! My mom had the daily pannini special and enjoyed it, but the steak fry side was not appetizing. The molten chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream was ok. With tip, $75 for 2 ice teas, 1 soda, pannine special and pricey mac and cheese, 2 desserts. Service was very good. I would probably try this place again but not bother with the mac and cheese. read more

I was looking forward to having quality time with my daughter after a hectic week and I decided to take her to Iron Works for dinner. It was about 5:30 on a Thursday evening and I approached the host station to be seated. The man abruptly asked me if I had a reservation to which I replied, "no, do I need one?" He said I didn't but it would be about 10 minutes for a table, which I was fine with. The manner with which he spoke to me however, lead me to believe that I was not a valued customer. he was rude. He also stated that there was a plane coming in and there would be a rush of people, so he appeared to be more concerned with that. I decided to be patient, gave my name and he said he'd be out to get us in 10 minutes. More than 30 minutes passed and no host. Also, I checked open table and there were open reservations. I am disappointed that this establishment does not appear to value its customers and I will not be returning. read more

Great looking place and was super convenient to our hotel as it is in same building which is nice when you have driven over 6 hours to get to room. Always nice to have a nice looking, enjoyable bar/restaurant just down stairs. We had a large group and couldnt easily be accommodated so chose to do take out and utilize hotel lobby. Placed our order from the bar ( very friendly knowledgable bartender) and sampled a couple of the beers on tap while we waited. My wife had the French dip, and I with help of the bartender in flipping coins went with the burger. Orders were done in timely manner and we rejoined our group in lobby. My wife says her dip was lacking any real flavor in her sandwich. My burger I will say was done to my asking and very good the only thing that lacked in quality and ability to eat was the fries as they were truly awful soggy burned looking mess. Another member of our party mentioned that's exactly how theirs had been at lunch so maybe it's a R.I. Thing but for those of us from elsewhere no thanks! Oh yeah almost forgot my daughter had the lobster Mac n cheese which I did try a few bites of though it was ok I personally would never again pay 25 bucks for something that was basically pasta a few bits of lobster and not nearly enough cheese. Any way over all not a bad place and I suspect I will venture back in this evening after the competition to at least sample another beer or two just might try somewhere else for food. read more

The worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. This was my first and LAST experience at this place. We had made a reservation for 25people for dinner at the bar for my mothers 50th birthday. We also had friends that were going to be joining us for drinks only at the bar as well. We requested seating at the bar area and had informed the manager ahead of time of the situation. From the moment we walked in the manager was arrogant and rude on so many levels from the way he spoke to us to his attitude. He literally stood there giving us side eye and yelling at us to sit down. They had one waiter for 20 people and the manager was yelling at us that we were disrupting his customers. Can I mention the bar and restaurant were fairly empty for a Saturday night. We quickly realized this place did not want the business of 25+ people who were ready to eat and drink. Oh well, lost out on that $2,000 bill And that fact that not a single one of us from our group will ever go back to this place and well make sure everyone knows how disrespectful and rude their management is. read more
