We been here 2 times, lunch was fantastic, service outstanding, food fresh and very good , now let's talk about dinner my daughter and ordered the ramen noodles, presentation wise beautiful, then we take a bite boom , large bone a little bigger than a quarter in my mouth couldn't see it because broth was dark, when I pointed out to the server she seemed confused and a older manager came over placed his hand in my teenage daughter and said can I help you with something (she was so creeped out) and then when I spoke up and asked politely is this supposed to be in my 26$ soup he began explaining the process of the meat broth? Totally uncomfortable situation overall , I will stick with the shanty fresh local foods without the choking hazards or creepy manager. read more

We visited Iron Works Tavern to enjoy the Providence Restaurant week menu. It was my first visit here and the ambiance of the restaurant was very cool, has the appearance of an updated factory with modern finishes. There was a small lunch crowd and we were seated quickly. Service was generally good but somewhat slow considering how few people were dining. We all loved our appetizers...Caesar salad and New England Clam Chowder were excellent and highly recommend trying one or both! As for the main meals, we were divided in our feelings on the dishes. The swordfish catch of the day was excellently done and served with well prepared green beans and rice. The Mac and cheese (tavern special) looked delicious but did not have much of a taste disappointingly so two of us were bummed. The Thai fajitas were beautiful and fairly tasty as well. We also liked our desserts of a generous portion...chocolate mousse and cheesecake. Tips: This restaurant is easily accessible via TF Green airport and the attached train station (walk across the above ground bridge to the rental car garage and cross the street!). They have a gorgeous private upstairs space available for private events and parties...groups up to 125! Would love to be invited to an event here. For a hotel restaurant, this place is stellar. I highly recommend dining here in the fall and getting the stuffed pumpkin appetizer special. This is stuffed with scallops and cranberries and is totally amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and the service here is also good. read more

My wife and I ordered food and had it delivered. Order consisted of 2 salads which were good but very small for the price ($12 each). Let me preface this by saying I'm a breakfast/brunch fan. I say this to whomever listens. Because I am. Sign 1: I signed up to have brunch in various places with varied strangers. Sign 2: I would not mind getting up really early (say 6 AM?) at the prospect of a lovely breakfast or brunch. Sign 3: I've done this a lot. It's the wonderful feeling of eating at the start of the day, when everything is filled with promise and there is no guilt in prospective indulgence. And so, on the last Sunday of November, I went to sample the brunch menu at Iron Works Tavern. Before turning into the parking space, I saw a hole-in-the-wall breakfast place across from it, and for some strange reason, felt like I should probably go there instead. There were a number of tables occupied when I got there -- seemingly regular patrons. The bar had what appeared like semi-full staffing (no kidding) yet no one wanted to make eye contact with me as I stood by the entrance, waiting. Finally, a busy server sits me down. Browsing through the menu, there isn't much of a selection. My bad. I thought sunday Brunch was a very special event but it seems to be relegated to a one page sheet of fancy selections. Uh-oh. Not the bright and sunny brunch I was looking forward to. I wanted to order the Mimosa right away! Finally settled on the Chef's Seasonal hash with Eggs while my companion decided on the special that day: Steak Eggs Benedict with Bechamel sauce and a glass of the Tavern Bloody Mary. The server assured me I made a very good, popular selection. First, coffee. Weak. Just like the bottomless coffee at a Denny's or IHOP. Disappointing. Then came the orders. Wow. What an over promise and under delivery. To their credit, they have the best tasting skillet potatoes in town. But that's about it. The food is not bad but it wasn't something to get up for, either. Corned beef hash tastes generic. Steak eggs benedict is, as I suspected, an off creation. Might as well have steak and eggs. Period. All is not lost: If you are the sort who values a fancy atmosphere and even fancier-sounding brunch menu over the savory taste and variety of the brunch menu itself, then this is the place for you. However, if like me, you'd like to start your day with very good coffee, the balance of a pretty place with good vibe, genuine service and great brunch menu that is not overpriced, then you should check out other places before this one. I left feeling slightly disappointed. One visit for the Brunch seems enough. Mental note, however: If I have a VIP guest to impress over brunch, this is the place to be. Or, if I want to have great cocktails at Happy Hour, or fancy lunch or dinner, I might come back. This restaurant was suggested by a family friend. Our server Joe was so knowledgeable and friendly he helped me decide because everything looked so good. I tasted both my sister's and my husbands food and also delicious we went during a busy time but were still sat promptly. The manager Bill even came over to check and see if our meal / experience was good . The decor here is so cool its like neuvo industrial but not super loud or crazy . This is officially my favorite restaurant in Rhode Island. I'm here visiting a couple of times a year and have found some great food. This spot just made me happy dance, y'all. Like, full-on shimmy. This is an arugula salad that I can best describe as a delicious and superior alternative to a Caesar. Now, I rarely like fries and when I do, I NEVER kill the whole plate. This is all take out, mind you. Now I wish I had gone in and just hung out a bit because I already know I'm going here often. This steak (this is the steak frites order, fyi) is seasoned and cooked perfectly, exactly to order, no need to ruin it with additional salt or steak sauce. Seriously, this is food that deserves to be tasted fully, appreciated. My daughter said her burger was phenomenal. She is fun sized but devoured the whole thing. She also offered a shimmy. read more

Came in at noon today for lunch and service was slow! The waitress apologized but if you want guests to come in for lunch it shouldn't take more than an hour for the whole shabang! The food was good but the calamari was the smallest portion I've ever had! I would definitely return because the salad and appetizers were good. Friendly, extremely efficient bartenders. The servers and cooks were fast too. Wow, do they work as a team. The food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared and presented. Managers seemed genuinely nice and staff was un-stressed. I wish all restaurants could be this way. I have to say it is not gourmet level but not priced that way either. I had a great time. I was alone, sat at the bar rather than wait 30 minutes. They really saved me from a crappy night dining alone on a business trip and not because they sat and talked to me (too busy doing a great job). Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for a layover for work. Had been to the restaurant once before & remembered it being decent. On this visit they were offering a 3 course lunch for $12.95. Had the caprese salad, turkey dinner & cheesecake. The caprese was 4 nice slices of tomato with 3 nice slices of fresh mozzarella with a basil pesto drizzle. Was not served with bread so we asked the waitress for some. She forgot about the bread so we finally got it when we had 1 tomato & 1 piece of cheese left. The turkey dinner was great! Real mashed potatoes, moist stuffing, nice size serving of turkey, roasted vegetables & a dab of cranberry sauce. Everything needed a touch more salt but I prefer to add my own than have it too salty so that was fine. The cheesecake was the only disappointing part of the whole meal. I wish I would have got the alternative a chocolate mousse. My friend had the gorgonzola chicken pasta & it looked amazing! Saw a neighboring table had the lobster pot pie that looked good too. They were also offering half price wine & I had a lovely chardonnay for $3.50. The restaurant was packed & it was quite loud. read more

What a wonderful restaurant! Came here as part of the 2015 restaurant week, but my wife and I enjoyed it very much and would likely return, even without the benefit of a prix fixe menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant; it has a distinctive industrial feel with lots of brick. Tables are spaced far enough apart that it never felt too loud while dining. On to the food! For appetizers we tried both the buffalo chicken dip and the steamed mussels. Both were good, but the mussels weren't anything out of the ordinary. I would strongly recommend the buffalo chicken dip and it can easily be shared. For entrees I had the braised beef short rib. It was delicious and the meat was very tender. The regular price of most of the entrees was about $20. Although the food was good, there is probably a slight premium since the restaurant is attached to a hotel with a captive audience. We both ordered cocktails, myself the Tennessee kid, and my wife the ginger margarita. The cocktails were $9 each and were a little disappointing at first glance as they were served in small glasses; however, despite their diminutive size, both drink were of an appropriate strength suitable for a one cocktail evening. In conclusion, the Iron Works Tavern is a great restaurant serving very good american food. If you are staying in the attached Hilton hotel and are unfamiliar with Warwick then it's a great choice for dinner. As previously stated, the prices are near $20 for an entree, so if you are looking for inexpensive or a quick bite, this probably isn't the spot for you. But, if you are looking to relax for an evening and enjoy some culinary delights, you're in the right place. read more

I have only come to Iron Works Tavern for half-priced appetizers (offered from 3 PM to 6 PM!) and have never been disappointed. I usually come with a large party and we order a bunch of appetizers and drinks. Some of our favorites are the wings, the pizzas, and the truffle fries. They have delicious gluten free options and a person in my party who has Celiac has never been disappointed. They have Omission as well, our gluten free friend really felt a part of the beer and appetizer night. I honestly don't know if I'd come to Iron Works without some sort of deal, happy hour, or gift certificate because it can be pricey, but when those are happening I am first in line! read more

Really enjoyed the lunch! I stopped in for a quick meal on a weekday afternoon because it is right near my office. There's a separate entrance for the bar room which is where we sat. I really liked the vibes inside. I got the quinoa salad which was super good. It had a lot of quinoa in it with lettuce, other veggies, and balsamic glaze. It was a big portion and filled me up for awhile. My boyfriend tried the pulled pork sandwich which looked really good also. The lunch prices are super reasonable and really worth it. The parking lot is very spacious and easy to get to. I drive by it all the time and never thought to go inside. I'd definitely like to go back to try the dinner and some cocktails! read more

If you have Celiac this may very become your "go to" place! I have visited IWT three times since being diagnosed. The staff fully understands the different between gluten sensitivity & celiac! Not only do they have gluten free options, the waitstaff always asks whether it's a gluten sensitivity or Celiac! They care! We visited for St. Patrick's Day and not only did they prepare scallops wrapped in bacon that as gluten free but voluntary reassured me that my corned beef dinner was absolutely gluten free! The food exceeded my expectations & provides me with comfort to know I will not walk away hungry or worry that I may get sick! For those with Celiac - this is the place to visit!!! The roasted chicken took about 5 minutes to come out and you could tell it was reheated...a bit dry. They'd be better off making a chicken salad out of leftovers and always do that dish fresh. Best restaurant in Warwick (not saying much, unfortunately). One of the only restaurants offering something NOT consisting of pizza, donuts, or fast food. Located in a beautifully renovated building, this restaurant includes reasonably priced creative entrees and sides including ROASTED CAULIFLOWER LENTIL FRITTERS, and PARMESAN TRUFFLE FRIES - yum. Good food but what's with menu lately?? No pork chops? No STEAK?? Pretty strange for a place like this. I don't even remember seeing any grilled items at all to speak of. I really hesitate in writing one star reviews but I have to be honest with this one. This was the second time I have been here and this experience was just terrible and not worth the money we spent. First of all, we went in as a party of 6 (we also said we could be split in 3 and 3) at about 7:30 pm and there were plenty of empty tables. Some had reserved signs on them but others were empty. They still gave us an hour wait. We waited, and during that time saw a small rodent (rat or mouse) scurry across the floor int he restaurant. Pretty unappetizing but we were tired and didn't want to try anywhere else at that time of night. We told the manager but there was not much of a reaction. We then went to the bar to get a drink but the bartender was noticeably curmudgeonly, with very little more to say then a curt "here" when handing us our drinks. In about 40 minutes, they called us to be seated. All was well at first, but after we ordered, we pretty much had radio silence from our server for the next 40 minutes, which is how long it took us to get our food. My uncle ordered a glass of wine and had to remind a server about his order after about 15 minutes. My mom and I shared the mac and cheese and the soup special: tomato saffron. The mac and cheese was pretty good but the tomato saffron soup was basically Campbell's tomato soup with a drop or two of saffron infused oil. NOT worth the $7. read more

This is our first stop from flying in from Houston and we always check out Yelp first. This is really close to the Airport and we had not eaten all day. We have the Mac and cheese- good but not in our top fav. Had the chicken bacon sandwich. The pretzel was was a little burnt and our waitress happily switched it out which so glad I did. It was probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Equal to my weekly go to Chick fil a. My husband had the roast beef sandwich and it was almost as wonderful as the chicken. My daughter had the chicken Asian noodles -equally as good. Home run guys!!! If we are back in to we will put this place on our list!! What an amazing experience last night for my birthday celebration here!!! Our party of ten was seated at a very comfortable location, and every single person was thrilled with the quality of their meals. I had the braised short rib with delicious mashed potatoes and gravy (so much FLAVOR!!) and perfectly cooked, fresh carrots and green beans. I added the soup of the day that was so good I didn't mind stuffing myself a little fuller than usual , and as one of two birthday peeps also enjoyed a complimentary dessert. I chose the coconut cream pie and WOW! What a treat! Anthony took wonderful care of us, showing up right on time when needed and letting us alone when not, and his impeccable service was quite appreciated by all. I tried two cocktails (pineapple infused vodka and the mezcal margarita) and both were well-made. The ambience was incredible, especially given the number of people there compared with the little noise we had to compete with. Great sound abatement!!! All in all, highly recommend this establishment and thrilled to have introduced it to the rest of our group. We will all be back read more

Pros: Nice Decor Parking Decent Food Service Cons: Hotel Restaurant House Special not good I went in and got half price apps and couple of craft beers. The beer was good. One shrimp app that I had was 5 stars but the issue that I have is that the signature mac and cheese dish was awful. That worries me. Overall a nice place in a decent spot with good service. Friday afternoon July 20th, my dining companion and I decided to venture into the Iron Works Tavern for lunch. We both admired the bright and rustic decor. There were some good options on the menu as well as the specials. Our waitress Samantha came over to greet us and take our order. We settled on unsweetened ice tea and diet coke. We both opted for the fish sandwich. You can order it with fries or a dressed salad. My companion opted for the no bun low carb option. When the sandwich came out we both noticed it's size two beefsteak tomato slices on the bottom, then lettuce, two nice pieces of fish, and a lemon aioli. The first bite was sheer delight, the next bites were heaven. That lemon aioli was so dynamic we were forced to ask for extra. The fish was lightly breaded and crisp. I removed the tomatoes and put it into my dressed salad which had a lite balsamic offering on it. The meal was delicious and filling. My mind is made up that a return trip to Iron works is in order. The staff are friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a place that has good food, an attentive staff this is the place for you. We had no wait on a Friday afternoon. read more

Bars can be fickle places. The best are local places but you also have to put up with the idiosyncrasies that equate to "color." Bars also have micro-personalities that change with the time and the day; so I think you have to take any bar review with a grain of salt. Think of it this way. Imagine going to the beach. It is very warm but the wind is blowing and it is overcast. Does the beach suck? I think not. Perhaps that part of the beach isn't for you or maybe you go another time. I think the Grid Iron is just such a place. I came in for a pre-haircut beer and found a large, somewhat dim establishment, but soon realized the management allows the natural light to do what it does best. After a few minutes it is just light enough in here, and it is much more comfortable than bright fluorescent lights. I noticed someone made a comment about having to make their way through a throng of smokers. I only encountered four or five but they were very polite and there is an area especially set up for smokers. Besides, they are a dying breed, so we should be respectful and a little nostalgic (that is harshly ironic - could be the double IPAs). There were locals at the bar and some were using *gasp* salty language, but it is a bar, so... We had the most sexually inappropriate bartender. I wish I remembered her name as she was so over the top naughty. Ok, yes I loved her. My impression is that she knows her audience, um, clientele. I told my coworkers about her, but when they stopped in they reported that she had more than the modicum of appropriateness. I would say their loss, but they enjoyed her service just as much. This is what professional service is all about. I didn't try the food, but my coworkers also said they had very tasty lunches. All in all, if you are in the area and looking for a place to go, stop here and give it a try. read more

Ordered takeout after a long day at the beach. Service was fast (30 mins from when we ordered to having our food) and the hostess was very friendly! The chicken tenders were fine but the fries were oily, soft, and kind of cold... the chips were hard and stale, and the guacamole was tasteless. I don't think they have heard of salt and pepper. The fish and chips were horrible too, as the fish was soggy. Would not ever come back here and don't recommend you do either. read more
