Whilst visiting from the UK we went to IMO as they were the only suppliers of Filson near to SD. We were not disappointed - I have never seen so much Carhartt together in one place - the store is piled to the rafters with great clobber, maybe 3/5 Carhartt, 1/5 Filson and 1/5 other. A great range of work jeans, shirts, shackets, jackets, coats, bags belts and hats. Could've spent a fortune, well, we did, but could've spent even more !! This place is a hidden gem in San Diego and one of the only places with a fantastic selection of Filson products! From the moment you enter the store, it's like you're being transported to Big Bear or Julian! This place has a warm welcoming cabin feeling going on but we know a fantastic store and great selections are only half of a great store. The other half of a great retail experience is its customer service. Let me tell you the customer service here is second to none. They are not only friendly but very knowledgeable and make you feel right at home. I don't like going into stores where they follow you around and keep hovering over you to see if you need help. Good selection of outdoor work clothing/uniform options. The BEST customer service you will find. They cary Filson for hunters, Carhartt for work and nice non-work shirts. Good selection of flashlights and knives. My work group uses them for some sturdy uniforms. They can do names tags and apply patches. Nothing but quality products under their roof. Never again. There were no warning sign displayed anywhere and the owner did not wear a mask. The first thing she said to me was that I did not have to wear a mask on her account because she had already had "THAT" Covid...It's clear where she gets her information...IF she really already had Covid...there are morons out there lieing and claiming to have had it and recovered just to show how insignificant this virus is. My husband was looking to purchase some Carhartt shirts, so we went to the Carhartt website to look for local retailers so as to be able to check them out in person. I am so glad Iron Mountain Outfitters was the first place to pop-up in the search results and that we went there - as it was the only place we needed to go! PJ was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. She was helpful but not pushy. She gave great information in regards to sizing and even provided great information into other products available. I can't recommend this shop enough! The prices are similar to online - but you get to see and feel the product first, avoid shipping costs, and get the human interaction we miss out on when shopping online. I just passed by and was interested in becoming a customer but the woman working there (may be owner) was not wearing a mask. I pointed that out and she told me "Oh, I've already had Covid." Not surprised, since she obviously doesn't know: A. The public health order is to wear a mask if you are working with the public. No excuses. B. There is no research showing you can't get covid-19 again and it has been reported numerous times that people HAVE gotten it again. Thus she could get it and transmit it to people with her policy of not wearing a mask while waiting on the public. Very disappointing how careless people are. I did call her and she told me she "has a different opinion". The virus does not care what your opinions are and neither does the public health dept. This is why covid-19 is running rampant in our country. People refuse to follow public health orders. I see that someone else, in October 2020 also had similar discussion with the worker there - that means this person (or another) has been working in an unsafe manner (against public health orders) for at least two months. Skeptical, i called the store asking for the particular pant and size, to my surprise, the nice lady said she had it in stock. Upon arriving, I was greeted by PJ. I was amazed by the vast selection of Carhartt. She had it all from pants, shirts, boots, outerwear, and accessories. I walked out buying more than i initially expected. A friend of mine told me about Iron Mountain Outfitters and since I happened to be headed to SD the next day, thought I'd stop in for a visit. PJ greeted me right away, was super friendly, and patiently listened to me rattle on about my love of the Filson brand, and their clothing and accessories I own. I've been in a LOT of retail locations that claim to cater to the outdoor crowd and I've never seen a store that wasn't owned by Filson that has as much Filson gear as IMO.
