We came based on the reviews and were not disappointed! My chili relleno burrito was everything I wanted. My friend had the chorizo breakfast burrito and enjoyed it. Their Only complaint was wanted some really hot sauce yet they had none. I could only eat half of my burrito and it made a great second meal later. Not a fan of beans in my burrito and was surprised to get beans in my burro. The sign said chorizo, papas and cheese. It wasn't too bad but not my thing. I went with an order of chicken fajitas with rice and beans and sat at a small table as I was dining alone. The interior was a little on the cramped side, though not crowded. Workers were friendly and professional and the food was delicious. Flavors for the fajitas, rice, and beans sung each on their own and all together. My stop was on my way to a conference and I had decided to walk from the restaurant to the convention center. No stars for this place! I ordered a small menudo and she brought it in a small bowl that was not concave enough so it was all spilled over on the bottom plate. When I tasted it, it had a foul taste and smell, so I told the waitress to exchange it for a white one, but she called the kitchen lady and that person refused to exchange it. She almost did not take it off the bill. I had to get firm with her then she took it off. The food that was ordered from the other people in my party was not tasty. Not impressed at all. Their service is very poor and they have a young girl as a waitress who doesn't even greet people when she arrives to the table. read more

I got a burrito (green chili burrito) I asked for no pico , cheese or beans. That is what's advertised on what comes in the burrito only. I ordered only meat and rice inside. However, I get to work and cut open my burrito and it's full of onions and cilantro (not advertised they put that in the burrito) so I was disappointed. I called and I spoke to a young woman who stated that she can exchange it for the red burrito since there's no onions in the meat. I asked if I need to bring the burrito back and she said "no, it's up to you if you want too". So I threw it away. I called back after 12 and some older woman with attitude answered the phone. I explained the situation. She confirms it with the young lady and then said I need to bring the burrito back and I explained to her what was said to me that I didn't need to and I threw it away. Her voice got really agitated and said "that's not how things run here, you need to bring the burrito back!" And the phone got disconnected. Highly recommend that they update their menus with every ingredient that comes in their food to prevent this mishap for happening again. read more

Came here for a quick bite to eat. Customer service was good and very quick. I got a carne asada burrito and the burrito had very little meat and no taste to the meat. I asked for a lime to add flavor. My mom ordered a chille relleno burrito and she said it was good but she wanted more spice so she asked for a jalapeño on the side. We each had a drink as well. When it came time to pay my total came out to almost $50! I was shocked but paid. Once I paid she finally gave me my receipt and I saw that I was charged for 4 beverages and $6 for a lime and jalapeño. I told the server of the over charge and she had to call her manager to get approval. She returned the over charge of the 2 drinks. I give it a 2 star for quick service but the taste and quality of food is not worth what they charge. read more

Very solid, good food. If I had an option for 1/2 star, I'd give 4 1/2 stars but am rounding up for the fact that they take pride in their food and service and want to make their guests happy. We're visiting from Tucson and have not found a Mexican restaurant we really liked in Phoenix until now. Unassuming inside, looks like what you would see in a Los Betos but lots of messages written on the walls in marker by customers, mostly thanking them for the great food. Welcome Chips and salsa served at the beginning are delicious. The chips are light and airy and you can tell they're fried in house rather than mass produced and delivered in a big bag. I had the number 1 lunch combo. A cheese enchilada and taco with rice and beans. I chose the carne asada taco. He got the #2 with a beef tamale and enchilada, again with rice and beans. Enchilada sauce was a nice deep red with a great flavor, tacos was soft shell corn with a decent amount of diced carne asada. It had a good flavor but had a few gristly pieces in it. The tamale had a good flavor, but I like a little more masa in my tamale. The rice was a yellow/saffron color with a good flavor. The refried beans were delicious! Perfect consistency, enough salt to give flavor but not overwhelm and a nice amount of cheese on top. My bf who considers himself a refied bean connoisseur growing up eating his nana's beans just about everyday considered getting another order but decided he was too full at the end of his meal. Prices are actually really good by today's standards. Each of our meals was $10.25. Total bill for 2 very filling meals, 1 bottle coke and one fountain drink and tax was less than $37 and the food was much better than the 2 burritos and 2 fountain drinks that I paid $42 recently at Los Betos on Twin Peaks rd in Marana (can you tell, I'm still upset about this) read more

He also mentioned that he wants to bring his mom there so she can try the menudo, too. But she only likes hominy. My friend also mentioned that this is better than a local chain restaurant by the name of CG. Heads up, the menu on here has changed & prices are no more than $2 more. I know I should have taken a pix for y'all, but I was fascinated by the "writings on the wall." Very reasonable though, normally I spend about $40 to $50 elsewhere. We ordered a breakfast burrito, chorizo burrito and a green Chile burrito. The prices are good and the service was quick and friendly. The breakfast burrito was just bacon, egg and potatoes. It was pretty basic but what the hubs wanted and they are big burritos! Would have been better with some cheese. The chorizo and egg burrito has cheese and we added papas. It was not super spicy and had good flavor. The green Chile burrito was made with what reminded me of carne asada steak which I didn't care for. It had beans and rice as well. This small spot was good but not the best. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and the mole was good but the chicken tasted like it's been sitting in the fridge for a couple days. It has that little fridgy after taste, but the mole sauce itself was delicious! My mom had the carne de res soup and that was a disappointing meal. (I forgot to take a picture so my apologies) but the broth was probably the only thing that was flavorful after we added a ton of salt to it. The thing that made the soup disappointing was the meat. It was so gross... my mom has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years and she said the meat was poorly cleaned. It tasted like old blood. The service was nice. It looks like there were two waitresses but only one of them was working hard while the other just talked to a (I'm an assuming) a regular. Since she was comfortable telling him how she parties and shows up to work hung over and what not. I found that extremely uncomfortable and very unprofessional. Now the girl who was working her butt off deserves a raise! She was cleaning tables, giving people their orders, taking orders, etc... meanwhile the other girl was yapping away.
