I ordered a new GE Profile over-the-range microwave oven to replace the one I had which failed…read moreafter 7 years of hard labor. I also ordered delivery, installation, and removal of the old unit. The delivery was on time and they removed the old unit. Those were the only tasks done right. The installation team (coincidentally the same two guys as the delivery team) tried to install the new unit using the existing brackets from the old unit instead of using the brackets (and templates) that came with the new unit. They fiddled around and drilled 5 or 6 holes in semi-random locations (because who uses templates when you are a crack expert installation team???) and finally drove the mounting screws cock-eyed into the unit so that it is hanging about 1.5 inches below the bottom of the cabinet. Lastly they just ignored the exhaust vent piping leaving the transition adapter completely disconnected from the microwave (by, coincidentally, that same 1.5 inches). I said: "what are you going to do about this big gap? They said: "That's just the way it is with those brackets, but if you don't like it you can call this number within 48 ours to return the unit". I said: "I don't like it and you need to fix it." They cheerfully pointed out: "If you don't like it you can call this number within 48 ours to return the unit." They then proceeded to take the shipping box, that still contained all the necessary but unused parts, and scooted out the door, noting: "If you don't like it you can call this number within 48 ours to return the unit." They left behind a cloud of wood chips, cardboard scraps, Styrofoam bits, and plastic sheeting on the counters, floor, and stove. Oh, and they left behind a card that said "you can call this number within 48 ours to return the unit". So I called that number (around 5 minutes after delivery since I didn't really need to wait 48 hours) and told Home Depot they need to come and do the installation properly (with a different crew), repairing my cabinet, and they probably need to bring a new unit because all of the necessary installation parts departed with the previous cheerful delivery/installation crew. Update: 12/13: I replied to the HD form in the comment. Update: 12/13: Repair crew arrived and looked at the install and said they would order a new unit and get it installed properly. They also stated they generally don't look at the unit instructions during install because "they are experts", and stated they don't use the templates because they "measure"... without referencing the installation instructions.

Honestly, this business is in a class all by itself, when it comes to quality of service!…read more Here's how it compares to a NAPA auto parts business that I purchased at recently. At the Napa in Stanton, you are treated like a nuisance, rather than a customer. Buying auto parts is more like pulling teeth. I didn't get what I needed, and I vowed to never go back to that location ever again. Recently, I spoke with Dave here at Smith Powerhouse, on the phone. Not only did he stop and check and make sure he had the filter for my generator in stock. But, he quoted me the price, as well. That's how service should be! Friendly and easy! There simply is no comparison between Dave and other service and parts businesses. It's easy to see exactly why Dave has been in business so long and why he has a long list of satisfied customers. All you need to do is compare them for yourself. At most places, you are simply another problem walking in the door for them to try to satisfy. Most places do a reasonable job. But, the service you receive here at Smith's is simply outstanding. They solve your problem instead of sending you away upset and unsatisfied! I purchased before, and I will continue to purchase again every time I need either parts or service for my generator. Let me save you some time and aggravation by showing you EXACTLY how to best use this business to buy service for your generator. FIRST, before you call, make SURE you know the name and model number of your generator, which is usually located on some sort of DATA PLATE that is attached to the generator. There's not much anyone can do for you if they don't know EXACTLY what you have. So, go out and look and write it down. For example, my generator is an ONAN, made by Cummins, and the model is called MICROLITE. It has a 4000 watt output and the series is KY. They can't help you with parts unless you know the EXACT model number, so be sure to copy it down and have it ready when you call. Next, it's best to have some idea of what is wrong. Because saying "I don't know" doesn't begin to narrow down the problem and it means you will be leaving it up to them to first diagnose your generator. Some suggested problems could be: Doesn't start at all or hard to start. Doesn't run smoothly. No power output. Or, it just needs general maintenance however they see fit. Now, if you have no idea what is wrong, and you say "I dunno" then be prepared to pay a diagnostic fee just to have your generator inspected. What about recent USE? Sitting for years, and covered in cobwebs? Or, used and running a month or so ago? Yes, this company can probably bring a dead generator back to life again! The more details you provide, the better this company will understand your needs. Finally, remember, this is a BUSINESS and in order to stay in business, they must charge enough to make a reasonable profit. So, be prepared to pay for the parts and service that your generator needs. I recently had my generator serviced, and now I'm saving TONS of money on gas because I run this tiny generator engine to make electricity rather than the big V-10 engine in the motorhome. Plus, all my house-current appliances are usable now, and that means my microwave and air conditioner are back in service again. The biggest problem I had was FINDING this place. If I had known about this business, I would have used them YEARS ago and not waited so long to fix my generator. Oh, one last thing. NOTHING mechanical is maintenance-free, despite what they may tell you. So, if you have a generator that you expect to use on a regular basis, then get it INSPECTED at least once a year. More often, if you're using it each and every day, like I do. These Onan generators are pretty reliable, but you do need to do regular maintenance on them. Oil changes and filters. Valve adjustments too. Plus, fuel lines get old and hard from the heat, so you need to change them when they deteriorate. Now that you have a better idea of what to do, you are well on your way to purchasing the parts and service that you need to keep your generator running reliably. And, if you don't have a generator at all, well then, this is the place to buy one and have it installed in your vehicle. If you want house-type power in your vehicle, then solar panels don't even come close to fulfilling that need. All these van-life people try to rely strictly on solar panels and they end up living in the dark and the cold, because solar panels are minimal at best. If you want house-type power, the only way to get it is with a generator! If you are contemplating ANY type of mobile business, having a generator and electric power makes all the difference in the world! A food truck, perhaps? A mobile pet service van? Even a mobile office! Any type of mobile business where house-type electric is needed. This company will make that happen for you. This is my updated review. They did tell me that to look at it was going to be $195 and I should have known better…read more I brought it down to them after having told them the starter was out. I was in the RV when he looked at it and he didn't even try to start it. I would have heard it if he had. He then said he was going to do an estimate for me and that I could pay the $195 and he would email it to me. I just about fell off my chair when I saw it. To replace my starter, the carb and install a new muffler he quoted me 11 hours @ $175/hr. Trained by Onan and in the biz for years and it was going to take him 11 hours? I don't think so. So beware, he charged me 200 bucks and then sent me a ridiculous quote. I wonder who else he has done this to.

I called and spoke to Nina, she was very pleasant, helpful, very customer service-oriented. I told her what I was looking for she told me to hold on a moment. I came back to the phone and said, we have two choices for you, they're both brand new. We're here until 6pm. Once she told me the address I said, I drive by there every day.I had no idea I could actually come in and buy some appliances. I arrived at 5:30. Nina was at the front desk to greet me with a smile and lots of energy. I actually thought I was going to get the runaround. She was going to show me some refrigerators that I did not want. That were not the right size much. To my surprise, she went right to the 2 refrigerators told me how much they were opened them up told me all the benefits told me what the delivery would be. I was ecstatically surprised and happy. I immediately made my purchase. My refrigerator was delivered on time as promised. I would recommend them for any appliance needs and don't worry. Nina always has a smile.

I did not have a good experience at Kimo's…read more Came into Kimo's about 8 months back. They posted a killer deal on Craigslist, got there and they would not honor it. Owner said it was posted by mistake, and was really shitty about it, like I was trying to rip him off. Okay fine, if something seems to good to be true, it is. Was still able to find a used washer and dryer set for double the price. Install and delivery went well, they were real professional and the owner even came through to install them. 3 months later the dryer took a shit. Called Kimo's, they said it was past the warranty and could do nothing about it. I would have to pay to have it fixed or buy a new one. So I bought a new one on sale from home depot, seems to be working fine so far. Now the washer took a shit, and I'm out 900 I spent on the set plus what I have to spend on a new washer. I love the idea of buying used appliances for the discount but I ended up spending a lot more money than I would if I bought it brand new. The truth is everything is so poorly built now a days that it's going to break down no matter what. Manufacturer's want you to buy new appliances every couple years, that's their business model. And it's fucking over customers and a small business like Kimo's just trying to stay alive. It's lose, lose, unless you're the giant corporation taking advantage of honest people just trying to wash their fucking clothes. Good luck Kimo's! I'm rooting for you guys. But I won't be buying anything from your store ever again.
