We were working on a major project in Beverly Hills and suddenly found ourselves in desperate need of a mid-sized mini excavator. I had already called 8 or 9 different equipment rental companies around Los Angeles with no luck. We had a 200-ton crane standing by, a full ground crew on site, and approximately $5,000 worth of Beverly Hills road closure and traffic control in place for the day. If we couldn't get that excavator, the entire job was in jeopardy and we were looking at potentially losing more than $25,000 between equipment, crews, permits, traffic control and lost production. Then I called Gus Gomez at Calgrove Rentals. Gus immediately understood how serious the situation was. On an extremely busy Monday, he dropped what he was doing, went to work for us, and somehow managed to get the machine we needed delivered to our Beverly Hills job site in LESS THAN TWO HOURS! They told me to contact their rep from Rheem, Mega Western. Which I did. Mega Western said that Todd Pipe & Supply was wrong, they need to take it back. I contacted Rheem again and they too said Todd Pipe & Supply was wrong. :/ Finally ended up purchasing a new water heater from a local reputable company. $3,300 cost simply because Todd Pipe & Supply will not honor the manufacturer warranty on their products.
