The mount for my steering damper broke and made it impossible to ride. I was referred to Vista welding by a gentleman when I was searching for someone who may be able to repair the mount. I met Mike who is the son of the owner. He was extremely helpful and was genuinely sympathetic to my situation. His shop not only repaired the broken mount, but I believe it is now much stronger than the original setup. They also primed and painted the repair at no additional cost and it looks fantastic. They fixed the…read moreissue i took it in for but now it having another issue that they caused and when i called them out on it the mechanic that worked on my truck immediately got defensive and started blaming me and said that i did the damage they caused. They ripped my splash guard on the bottom of my truck to access a component with a screwdriver or something like that. Instead of just unbolting the splash guard they took a knife to it and bent it inwards and when i told them about it the mechanic said it was me and that i did it, and for me to bring it in and if it's something they did that they will fix it. And when i told him that it's for sure something he did without a doubt he just hung up on me. I will update this review in a couple hours to see how they resolve this. What got me to write this 1 star review is how they handled it over the phone , i have not even showed up in person yet and i can already tell the mechanic is going to be negative towards me, and the fact that he immediately tries to blame me is frustrating because i treat my truck with care and would never rip open my splash pad like that when it can easily be unbolted. No one has ever touched my truck but the dealership and me and i noticed this after i got it back from them. I had come in for knock sensors but left with plugs wires rear pads and a passenger tiered as well as alignment! I was sleeping on a few things and decided to have them all handled. They turned the work around in a day and brought the truck to me as well. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly and the work performed seems good so far. Only way to really know how well a job is done is tear it all apart and check but that's unrealistic hahaha Im definitely happy with the outcome and also happy I had it done close to home so if there is an issue I can call them up and we can settle it... everything running well now and the truck is once again on top of the maintenance hill!!! Carl's ex-aerospace, so intellectual aspect of what needs be done, gets done, before wrenching begins, before the car gets rolled, into the stall. Carl and I went back 'n forth two months trading thoughts, hashing it out, somewhat complicated endeavor, r134a retrofit on a vintage supercharged MR2 (e.g., doesn't share principle A/C components with any other Toyota). Crux of our dilemma, that parts ran out on this vehicle, 20 years ago, we had to make due with what we had. But, Carl still has all the old equipment to service R12! Dozens of specialty shops petrified, scared to death to even touch the thing, even the local Toyota dealership here in Lancaster chickening out, kicking me to the curb, by the time we rolled my AW11 into the stall, Carl had the retrofit wrapped up less than 24 hours, restoring A/C -- to a nearly 40 year old vehicle? If you can believe that? Other reputable shops, having bid-over US$9k to do the retrofit? Threatening to tear the entire car apart? Carl came in, a cinch under US$400 bux, for the retrofit.
