I went to three welding shops that turned out to be residential addresses, with nobody home. Then I went to Diego Iron Company, which is located way out in the boondocks in an actual shop. Ernesto, the man in the photos, was working on a project when I walked in with the chair base. He inspected the bent metal then bent it back - he's a lot stronger than me. Then he did some grinding, welding, and more grinding. Presto! Fixed! Talk about fine, friendly service. I asked about the charge, and the owner just said, "Send me some business." Brian is busy with bigger jobs so it took a little persistence to get on his schedule for a tiny job installing a self closing mechanism on an iron gate to pass a pool safety inspection and he took great care of us.
