    Fried Chicken Wings
    Andy V.

The service was ok but the restaurant itself was really clean. But the tables did smell like wet rags. We got fried chicken wings for the appetizer and it was nice and hot. We ordered a bowl of Bun Bo Hue, Pho Tai Gau and Bun Rieu for the soups and a plate of there Prok Chop Rice #59. They totally forgot the rice plate by the way. The pho had a strong ginger flavor but still pretty good. The Bun rieu was really good but the meat chunks inside was not the good. The Bun bo hue was really basic. All bowls was little and didnt have much noodles like other restaurants in San Jose.

I really came here on a whim for lunch, to try it out since it's a 5 mins drive from home for my work break. I was pretty shocked after hearing so many mixed reviews. My experience however was great and the lady whom I assume is one of the owners was completely sweet. The meat portions to noodle ratio definitely beats another specific shop I gave poor ratings too. I'm more than likely coming back since I enjoyed myself and the food.

Very quiet and empty when we went. Food came out super fast and overall good food. Restaurant is very clean!

10/21/25 I just had to put an update on my phone journey in San Jose. This is the 7th pho I've been to and so far it is the best! The pho broth is so flavorful, it came out hot, and all the meat you'd expect from a combination pho was in there. I've been to other pho in the area that offers, "combination" pho, but they lack the tripe, tendon, or meatballs. This place also has shrimp cake, and bun Bo hue. For my first time at this specific pho and for it to be this good?? I will definitely come back! Also plenty of seating and parking. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu!

It was nice having Tess and her bf join us for dinner. Though Gavin said he would order pho, he ended up ordering a rice plate. I originally wanted to try Pho Dang but this place offered a variety which was why I chose to come here. Tess said that their bun rieu is really good. I don't recall what her bf ordered but Gavin ordered the Korean short rib rice plate and I ordered their pho dac biet. Broth was flavorful. A bit lacked on the meat but otherwise no complaints. Parking was easy and they accept cards. Food came out relatively fast. I did not care for their disposable wooden chopsticks but I get it - one less thing to worry about and just toss once customer is done.

Came here for my mum's bday lunch and we ordered a bunch of stuff: spring rolls (4/5) -- very fresh ingredients, good ratio between all the components egg rolls (5/5) -- not greasy but super crispy, meaty and flavorful filling oxtail pho (3/5) -- my dad ordered this and the oxtail was still really tough so I wouldn't recommend it unless you like chewy oxtail. He did say the broth was very deep yet clean and the noodles absorbed the broth well chow fun (3/5) -- the noodles easily fell apart, much softer than usual noodles for chow fun, otherwise ok dish if you like seafood and celery pork banh mi (5/5) -- my mum got this and said she enjoyed it a lot beef/shrimp vermicelli bowl (3/5) -- I ordered this and the ingredients were all fresh, but the beef was too salty while the rest of the bowl had little flavor unless I got a bite with mint. The sauce that came with it was good, but overall the entire dish needed more seasoning beef rice plate (3/5) -- my brother agreed that the beef was too salty and ended up needing to take someone else's rice to finish his meat I would come back to try the pho and the banh mi, not so sure about the other items we already tried.

iPho is a new noodle place. Plenty of parking available as it's in a large plaza and next to Bonchon. Mostly indoor seating but possibly some outside. I didn't really look as I entered on one side of the restaurant. It appears that they have two entrances. The service was friendly enough. The restaurant is new or newly remodeled. Two non-gender restrooms available. iPho Dac Bien Bo Vien: special rare steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef ball (4/5). Served with the typical herbs but no culantro. The soup came out piping hot and I saw my rare beef quickly turn from red to gray brown. The broth was flavorful and I could taste the cardamon and cinnamon which I usually can't. It was delicious.

Broth 3.5/5 Noodles 4/5 Meat 4/5 Vegetables 5/5 Overall pho rating 4.13/5 Spring rolls 3.9/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Overall this place is pretty clean with some good pho. I usually come here sometimes after my workouts bc it's right next to the gym I go to. Small restaurant but has a good amount of seating still so bigger parties like 6-10 should be good!

Tonight, I felt like doing something different. I wanted some Phở áp chảo. Phở áp chảo is the complete opposite of traditional Phở. I'm going to say something unpopular. Sorry to break it to you, but there's no such thing as a Phở Khô. For some reason, some people out there think putting the word Khô on everything makes it new or trendy, when it really doesn't. There's only Hủ Tiếu or Mì Gà Khô, or no Khô. There's just no such thing as a Phở Khô, I don't know who made that up out there. The only thing that should be Khô is Beef Jerky, Apricot, and Sage. And I never been a Phở Khô type of person, I always went with the Phở áp chảo if not the usual Noodle Soup. It reminds me of Mì Xào Giòn or Stir-Fried Crunchy Egg Noodle. I remember, the first Phở áp chảo I ever had was from the South Bay Area, that was a very long time ago, like 24 years. This actually brings me back to some fond memories. I'm here at iPho in SJ, tonight. Get it? iPho? I like the name, it's catchy. This is one of the best looking Beef Phở áp chảo I ever had, it looks phenomenal, slightly impressive. This version is just done very different. The Gravy was packed with flavor. I' m surprised the Noodles soaked up the gravy like a sponge in a good way. And I also had to get it with a Chè Ba Màu, I haven't had a Chè Ba Màu in a long time, it was refreshing, and it hit. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.7-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.2/4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

Never really had a great experience going to an Asian restaurant 1 hour before they close. Yep, customers were still coming in, but felt like the owner wanted to go home. She was nice enough, but rushed us through our ordering. My family wanted pho and saw that all the small bowls were $13.50 and large $14.50, but 2 of my kids only wanted steak and meatballs. The owner said sure, no problem. I assumed it would only be those prices but ended up paying $3 dollars more for meatballs added to their steak only bowl = $16.50/$17.50! That's more than a dac biet (combo) bowl!! Should've done that instead. And wouldn't mind paying $3 more if it was a side of at least 5-6 meatballs, but they gave only 4 quarter pieces = 1 meatball, which was ridiculous. Mind you, this is a small Asian meatball, not a large spaghetti one. Owner kept cleaning around our table and refilling the utensils at our table as we ate, so we felt rushed to finish so she can go home. Mind you, this was an hour before closing. She wasn't rude, but it felt she wanted to close up and we didn't feel comfortable eating there while she is cleaning around us. Felt like we were in a stereotypical scene of an Asian restaurant in a movie! Just needed her to start moping under our feet!! lol. 5 of us literally spent 35 mins there TOTAL, never eaten so fast at a sit down restaurant! Not even sure why we gave tip when all they did was bring out our food. My little one finished his bowl but at other pho places the serving is larger so we always had to take home. So cheaper prices if you DON'T order off the menu but you get less food. My family said that the pho was ok. My bun bo was ok too, had a decent amount of meat, but needed more depth (flavor). Wish this could've been our family's new favorite pho place bc of Yelp ratings, but unfortunately, this was our first time and probably our last.

There are so much variety of Vegetarian dishes!

Mixing it with the noodles, herbs, and peanuts made for a great combination of textures and flavors. Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.

It's a grilled tumeric fish dish that packs a ton of flavor, and you add noodles and herbs to make a delish spring roll (or in my case a fat burrito). It comes out on a sizzling plate so you have to let it cook a bit to render the onions and dill to get that perfect texture. The sauce might be a bit fishy to some, but it's what ties the bite together! It's def an acquired taste, but if you are open to trying new things, please come try this speciality dish. Tip: on Wednesdays, this dish is only $28, whereas the OG price is around $36. The fried rice here was surprisingly super flavorful! You can taste the separate grains (which is when you know the cook on the rice is good) and the salt levels were top tier. I would come back and get this togo if I was too lazy to create my own food with the spring rolls. Overall, you are here for the food, not the service and decor. If you can't find parking in that plaza, there's more parking across the road where the Target is. After spending about ten minutes on the written wait-list, our names were called. It's definitely a little easier communicating with much of the staff if you speak Vietnamese, and I find that waiting right outside the restaurant is best because they default to calling your name from the door once it's your turn. The interior is crammed with tables; the atmosphere feels busy and warm. There is a single room women's bathroom and men's bathroom in the back as well. The decor leans toward being classic more than trendy, which I liked. The menu is pretty big, offering a variety of items ranging from mainstream Vietnamese options to ones I don't encounter as often. I recommend eating family-style for many of these dishes, including the Bún Chả Cá Lã Vọng, which I enjoyed with my partner. The prices are pretty average, and their portions are generous. That said, they are cash or Zelle only. There is an ATM that you can use if you forget to bring cash, but this is still something to keep in mind. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back. I wish I had the stomach capacity to try more of their dishes at once, and I 100% recommend that anyone give this place a shot.

The appetizers were all good and definitely satisfied my craving for Hue-style snacks. Unfortunately, the Bun Bo Hue was disappointing. The broth had a strange flavor and was missing the rich, hearty depth that makes Bun Bo Hue so comforting and memorable. I honestly found it surprising that a restaurant specializing in Hue cuisine would miss the mark on one of its most iconic dishes. Another thing I noticed was that the vermicelli noodles were broken into many small pieces, which made me feel like they weren't particularly fresh. It definitely affected the overall eating experience. Before leaving, I also ordered a banh canh to go. That ended up being really good, though I personally wasn't a fan of the fresh-cut noodles. By the time I got home, they had expanded quite a bit in the broth and became softer than I prefer. Overall, I enjoyed everything except the Bun Bo Hue. The standout dish was the egg rolls. They arrived hot, golden brown, and perfectly crisp, with a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that made them the best part of the meal. The food, however, wasn't the reason for my rating. The restaurant's cleanliness left me concerned. I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience. Until then, the cleanliness issues overshadow what was otherwise an average meal.
