Alex and his crew did an excellent job rewiring my house, changing the sub panel, and upgrading the main panel to 200 amp. Additional work done were the recessed lights being swapped out for LED and additional outlets added throughout the house. Overall, I'm glad that Alex rewired the house because he corrected so many things that were out of code and questionable. Alex handled the permits and the scheduled all the inspections needed. It was very smooth and pretty much hands off. He was really responsive in answering any questions I had plus he was able to start and finish within the estimated timeline. He also gave advice on new light fixtures and recommended some contractors for other work I needed to do. Overall, it was an excellent experience with great workmanship quality. read more

I work in residential home building and know trade costs. My wife and I needed to install several ceiling fans, a few lights, an outlet, and an EV charger. I called Parker & Sons first and after a brief look they gave us a ridiculously high quote ($700+ per ceiling fan ridiculous). This insinuated that our job wasn't worth their time. I found Ion Electrical on Yelp and Paul came over for an estimate. He was extremely thorough, even checking the breaker and patching a frayed wire while he was in there. He gave us an excellent estimate and we immediately scheduled his next available day. Paul showed up with a helper and they finished everything together on schedule. He even replaced an old loose outlet for free. One of our fans had issues and needed to be returned and Paul had no problem coming back another day to install it. Everyone we've met has been extremely friendly, my wife and I were super comfortable with them in the house, and he gives prices that I trust. I've already recommended him to my Dad. My wife and I have a list of lighting home improvements we're slowly working through. Once we've ordered everything we'll be calling him to schedule again! read more

States they service near me..called and was told no and couldn't get to me any time soon. Just seemed like he didn't care. Not impressed!!

I contacted Paul from Ion Electrical based on some good reviews on Yelp. He was very responsive and gave us a competitive quote. The scope of the work included LED panel lights in the garage, LED can lights and pendant lights in the house as well as an additional outlet. Everything was done in a very professional manner without a bit of mess. Use Paul and his team and you will not be disappointed read more

Had an EV charging station installed in the garage. Ion Electric delivered on low price, high quality, and professionalism. He did all the work to obtain a building permit from the city and the inspection, and did not charge extra for the service. Also, he would rather run the conduit that will be more hidden from view than an easy direct route. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Alex. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

It's a big deal to invite a service provider into your home, and an even bigger deal knowing that there are people out there who take shortcuts that result in more work that needs to be done, or who are unreliable, or just can't be bothered unless you have a BIG job. Paul is the opposite of those. From the initial outreach to the moment my job was finished he was a pleasure to deal with. I had a ceiling fan to install (in an unwired location), and wanted to move some wall sconces to overhead cans. His assessment of the job was thorough, his bid was quick and reasonable. Scheduling was easy and collaborative. And the results? Better than I imagined. At a time when it's challenging to know if you're contracting with someone you can trust, I was elated to find Paul. He will most definitely get my business going forward. Thanks Paul!! read more

Ion Electrical Services - New subpanel with upgraded feeder wires. - Electricians Near Me - San Ramon, California

A good friend of ours referred Alex to us when we were moving into our current home. We wanted to install recessed lights throughout our home, remove some old fixtures, install new switches, and also had to replace our old electrical panel. Communication was 9/10. We kept in touch with Alex through text messages and phone calls, and he was really good about keeping us up to date on the progress of each project. Cost was 9/10. We priced things around a bit at first, but Alex was always fair and competitive in pricing of parts and labor. Even when we found slightly cheaper prices elsewhere, we still chose to go with Alex because because of the professionalism, communication, and quality of work. Quality of work was 10/10. After all the general contracting folks we worked with, it was so refreshing to have Alex on our electrical needs. Why? Because most folks just get the job done. Alex got it done and clearly has high standards too. You get the sense that he has high level of ownership where it feels like he's working on his own home with focus and precision. He was the only person we had coming in and out of the house that we didn't worry about it. Overall... 5 stars easily. We would recommend Alex for electrical services including: installing recessed lighting, installing hanging light fixtures, changing light switches, installing outdoor electrical outlets, replacing electrical panel, and exceeding expectations. Thanks Alex! read more

I am happy to be ion electricals first review as Alex has done such a good job with my home that I feel obligated to do so. First off Alex has great knowledge of all electrical things. He understands electricity and how it is applied within Homes built in the 1960s like mine is. Throughout the last two years I have been using Alex for various projects: installing new canned lights, installing new electrical circuits, installing new vents and other small electrical needs through our old home. Alex works professionally, he is on time he has all of the tools and he is very clean. Best of all the price he says is the price it is. I wanted to install extra ceiling lights and add a few extra outlets in the garage. Tried to reach out to a few electricians on Yelp. They are either fully booked or slow in response. So I decided to have a second try for a different batch of electricians. Within an hour of sending out quote request, I received a reply from Paul and he asked me to send a few pics of my garage. And the. We went back and forth on a few details. He gave me a 2 day window and told me that he would confirm with me the final date after he finishes work with his current client. Got a call one this Tuesday from Paul and he would come to work on my garage on Wednesday. While he was sorting out the wires, he pointed out that our circuit break panel was too old and suggested that we replace it if we wanted to add extra appliances in the future. He talked to his next customer and get permission to squeeze my panel update for an extra day. By the end of Thursday, I had a new panel with all the lights and extra outlets working! Given it is close to Christmas, I really appreciate that Paul was able to get things done so quickly. What I like about Paul: clear communication (no hidden charges, no surprise); punctuality; being open about different options and costs. read more

Ion Electrical Services - The new panel - Electricians Near Me - San Ramon, California

We remodeled the entire house, and we needed someone for getting a lot of recess lights installed through the entire house. A friend highly recommended Alex, telling us that we will not be disappointed with his work and professionalism. When you are familiar with the remodeling/construction business, you hope that the individuals selected to help you out will provide you with every bit of details needed for you to make the right decisions regarding the respective job. Upon our first meeting with Alex, we were very impressed with the details that he shared with us regarding the recess lights installation and the process of installing them. He took his time to answer a lot of questions, to point out the pros/cons for various models/types of recess lights, to give us ideas on what would work better or not, etc. The pricing he offered was fair and comparable or even a bit lower than other bids that we have received from a few different electrical companies. At the end of our conversation, we really felt that we could trust Alex with our project, so we decided to go with him. When the remodeling work started, Alex coordinated his portion of the work with the rest of the segments of our project, so that he could do his work without impeding or delaying the other contractors who worked on our house. While most of the recess lights didn't pose a problem, one particular very high ceiling with no attic gave Alex the opportunity to really display his skills in getting the recess lights lined up and installed flawless. At the end of the project, when the entire house was completed, the recess lights added the nice touch that our home missed in the past. By all means, if you are looking for a great electrical contractors, you need to look no further, as Alex is your best choice to get the job done. We have recommended him to a couple of other friends, and both were very happy with his service. Thank you Alex for the beautiful lights installed in our house! read more

A Gem in the industry. We first got to know him through our general Contractor. We are still in touch with both of them and what a lucky find! Job took most of the day. They installed a sub panel, did rewiring and added needed outlets in the garage. Throughout the day Paul showed me the different steps taken for this work. Besides the electrical they also put in the insulation and some sheetrock in the section they were working on. He offered a generator while they were working if I wanted. Ion Electrical Services saved the day... TWICE! Hours before a final inspection for a project in Oakland, some of our electrical stopped working and our project electrician was no where to be found.
