Inyo Sushi has been on my list to try for a hot minute now and I've got to admit, I was expecting better quality for the bang and the buck it cost to eat here. Almost $190.00 for 2 mocktails, 2 appetizers (as meals) Miso soup, a sushi burrito and 3 rolls one of those was just a tuna roll also - it was exxxxpennnnsive...and just 'okay'. The lettuce wraps were mostly carrots and had little flavor, same with the soup. It all seemed like it just needed 'a little something extra' to make it pop! It was also incredibly dark inside the restaurant as well. It gave a very moody/broody vibe which might be cool for a date-night, but it makes it a tad difficult to read a menu. Our waitress was a gem though! She was quick, polite and very attentive!
It's a cute date night spot as the lights are typically dim in the evening with sleek, dark furniture. I sit at the bar when dining in. Sushi presentation is beautiful. Service is fine. Drinks are lackluster. They have bartender rocks drinks and martinis during happy hour. First visit, bartender made a nice scratch martini based on spirit I liked. Second visit was a standard martini available. Turmeric Old Fashioned is made with golden turmeric syrup AND triple sec that's not listed on the cocktail menu. I don't know how triple sec goes in any old fashioned. Could I be asking for too much, I don't think so. Had the bartender make a standard old fashioned. It was okay. This was my second visit. The first time, the bartender working seemed like he didn't want to be there. Happy hour is until 6:30pm during the week. Nothing to write home about. Sad solo outing. Sushi was the star of the show.
Not worth it but my emphasis is on the quality of the food and the value the food more than the ambiance and service. I ordered a sushi roll which picture is $16 and a miso nobe soup meant for two for about $35. The soup contained a king crab leg, some tofu, small salmon, some veggies, some mushrooms in a miso soup. While the soup tasted good it was for sure nothing special and just your run of the mill typical Japanese miso broth. In my opinion this was not worth $35 and I could eat it easily by myself. The sushi roll was $16. Four pieces of a cooked roll. Wow it was good and freshly made it was definitely not special especially for the price point and four pieces. The ambiance was okay and dark. Service was fast and on point. I was the only one eating at around noon on a Sunday. I could get the same products at a cheaper Japanese restaurant for much better price point.
Delicious sushi, they plated it super pretty, staff was very kind, they made a slight mistake and communicated it very well, asked about allergies, we loved the music it was really fun. Very dark in there and a little hard to see menus -- I don't mind but my mom did as someone with worse vision so something to think about for them. They might need better candles at the tables.
This is one of the best sushi restaurants in metro Detroit! We love it at Inyo! Great service and food!
Great experience. Our server was very polite & fun. We had sake bombs & two rolls, both were delicious. We were sat right away on a busy Friday night. Great for a date night or girls dinner.
Always an amazing experience at Inyo! Our waitress Maddie and server Said are so attentive and sweet. We ordered the steak tips, crispy rice tuna, calamari and spring rolls as appetizers. For entrees, the hot sea stone bowl is a must and the veggie stir fry noodles are delicious. We ordered the dynamite roll which came lit on fire and the salmon crunch roll which was nice and light in comparison. For dessert, we got the Inyo Royale and the ice cream taco (must try)!! Love this place, can't wait for it to be back in West Bloomfield!
Our server, Ricky was the best. Very kind and attentive. And the food was amazing. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Service was quick too
Came here with my wife for a day after Valentine's Day dinner. We love splurging and going out to Inyo every February. It's a tradition for us. We started with an old fashioned (me) and a Princess Martini (her.) Tonight's dinner was amazing. She had two kinds of shrimp rolls and I did the Chef's Choice option which resulted in five different really delicious rolls. It's a great deal and I could literally taste the chef's passion and creativity in each roll. It was a great date night for us!
Sometimes I'm leery of going to Japanese restaurants because you never know if the chef owes a blood debt to the yakuza. And it would be my luck that the night I go there they've finally caught up with him and my wife and I are caught in the crossfire. You won't have this problem at Inyo, the entire waitstaff has all of their fingers so I figure that haven't crossed the yakuza. Our server, Ricky, was amazing and the everything he recommended was terrific. We had two sushi rolls, the Scottish sake salmon, and the Kurry katsu chicken. All of it was really tasty. Ricky was able to keep the ninjas from ruining our meal as he made and served us several awesome cocktails. Finally their tempura ice cream was really good. Thank you Inyo for a wonderful meal! I hope to come back!
The ambiance and the service was great! Our server was amazing, but the food just hit the mark on every level. It was the definition of barely average. We started with the spicy edamame and hot and sour soup. The edamame was the best part of the meal. The hot and sour said it had shrimp and meat in it, but it didn't. There was 1 pc of tofu. Was no where near worth $8 for the cup. Then we got the sashimi salad. The fish was fresh, but the dressing was subpar. We even ordered a second dressing and it was worse than the first one. The Kung pao was sweet and didn't have any nuts. Didn't taste like any Kung pao I've ever had before. The chicken lettuce wraps lacked flavor and were so watery. The lettuce was fresh though. Overall, the service and ambiance were the only saving graces. The food isn't anywhere near worth the price, but even at a lower price point I don't think we would return.

Our time at Inyo was phenomenal!!! From the moment we stepped in, we were in the vibe. Our waiter, Ricky, made instant best friends with his service. He made sure we knew some great drinks that met our taste and food that was mouthwatering. It continues into the meal where the food did not disappoint. We were enticed to dessert that made the experience complete. Love Inyo! read more

Not my first time at Inyo but I did try something new rather than my Singapore noodles with shrimp chicken and extra egg. It is extremely dim in the restaurant, my friend had to request the shades be pulled up near our table lest we eat in the dark. The waitress suggested I try the seafood crunchy noodles and as skeptical as I was I ended up having the best entree on the table. The Singapore noodles are often dry because of how much curry they use, it's a must to add your own soy or some other sauce. The deep fried roll shocked me most, it was delicious. I love a dessert and although the chocolate cake was clearly store bought it was still tasty. I don't eat ice cream but the tempura breading on the fried ice cream tasted like churros, very good! read more

I came here for a quick lunch before work and it was really good! The service was really fast and the food was decent. The guacamole with the sushi burrito doesn't quite make sense although it tasted fine. It was just a weird combination. The hot sea stone bowl wasn't bad it just not the most traditional stone bowl out there. I would recommend getting extra sauce too! The egg was perfectly cooked and overall a fairly decent dish. read more

Inyo is definitely my go to spot. I've been here more times than I can count. The sushi is to die for and pretty much all I ever eat. I try to have a different roll every time I come. Maybe I should try other things on the menu too! Lol! My favoritest drink is the Rose Paloma. It's very refreshing and light. The big booths are sooooo comfy and spacious which just adds the the atmosphere of the restaurant. I've recommended it to so many of my friends and they love it as well. Very enjoyable meal overall. The sashimi salad was delicious as was the roll we chose (don't remember the official name but it had crabmeat and was topped with salmon). The edam came out after the meal unfortunately so that was a bummer. We brought it home as we had wanted it as a starter. Overall a solid 4 star. read more

Highly recommended! I came here with friends for dinner and had a good time. I recommend ordering the steak bites - they were phenomenal! My friends ordered the balsamic shrimp and loved it - I took a bite and enjoyed it. I ordered a specialty sushi roll but I forgot the name of it - but it was tasty! If I come back again when I'm in town, I'd request a booth. The environment is nice but when seated at the regular tables we were able to hear other's conversations at nearby tables. The server was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. read more

Yes. This is my second updated review. Is there a limit on those? I will tell myself this is my last review of Inyo. I've been many times over the years and love it each time. We were here last Wednesday for happy hour which is from 4 PM to 6 PM on weekdays. The only drawback is that happy hour specials are only available at the bar. The three of us easily found seats together at the bar, but our bartender, Chloe said it gets busy at certain times. Chloe was amazing. She recommended several drinks and even made them with a twist. I had a cocktail with sour apple pucker, vodka, and Sprite, and another one with a watermelon pucker and vodka. We shared the following rolls: dancing eel, shrimp lover, shrimp tempura, and calamari. The shrimp lover was our favorite so we ordered two of those and had them deep fried. read more

Rickey was absolutely wonderful and fun! This is the second year in a row where I've celebrated my birthday with my cousin at Inyo and have loved it. Rickey is full of life, gives great recommendations and is super kind. Will definitely be coming back next year! read more

I would call it maybe a little better than ok, but not on par with the old Little Tree or Kyoto in Royal oak. The food was decent, though the selection of rolls is not very dynamic. Most have about the same ingredients. We settled on a couple rolls that looked good and some nigiri. The nigiri was good and the Walu was fantastic. the service however was disappointing. My wife ordered the Hot Sea Stone Bowl and it came at least 15 mins before the sushi. She was done before the rest of the food for the table came and it was really not that busy at all. read more
