Two words: HAPPY HOUR. Let me explain... On Friday and Saturday nights (and maybe even Thursdays but I'm not sure) Inyo is the place to get boozy without spending too much cash. That's right folks, Inyo has a weekend night happy hour. From 11pm to 12:30am, you can get $4 Patron shots, $2 wells and $3 Pearl-bombs. You and a decently sized group of friends can be done within pennies of a 50 dollar bank note. Perfect for a cheap night out but with fancier surroundings. And to top it off, the servers and bartenders on the Friday and Saturday nights are pretty cool. Inyo also offers another happy hour around a more traditional happy hour time. During that happy hour window, they still offer fantastic drink specials alongside some more moderately prices sushi rolls and other app dishes. I haven't experience that one, so I can't comment. I also can't comment on the food that much seeing I've only eaten here once. The only time I ate here, I tried a fancy sushi roll. It did its job, it wasn't amazing nor was it bad...it just was. Inyo has quite the list of 'fancy' and over the top sushi rolls (meaning fried, saucy or overstuffed), so if that's what you like, Inyo is a total win for you. Meanwhile, I'll just stick to those cheap drinks on those late weekend nights...they're a total win for me! Cheers! read more

The word "striking" comes to mind when considering Ferndale's Inyo. From the décor to the food presentation, to even the people watching, everything about Inyo grabs your attention. Inyo has a fresh urban feel with private oversized booths, bursts of black and red patterns, and music that doesn't overwhelm the senses. Our waitress was friendly, enthusiastic and knew the menu inside and out, noting that she has tasted "everything" on it. We started with cocktails, which seemed like a good choice. Gentlemen ordered the Samurai with vanilla vodka, ginger and chai; while the ladies ordered the Malaysian Butterfly, with pearl plum vodka, plum saki, elderflower and fresh cucumber. Both choices were nicely presented and tasted great. Four of us were dining on this visit, so we decided to order several items and share--which is so easy to do with sushi. We chose the Beijing Duck, along with Caterpillar, Dynamite, and Shrimp Tempura Rolls--all fairly heavy, but we had a sushi newbie with us, which limited our choices. Finally, we also chose Ahi Tuna Nigiri for everyone. The duck came out first, accompanied by the sushi chef who carved the outer skin and meat, which our waitress gently rolled up in thin pancakes with hoisin sauce, and slivered carrots and scallion. The duck was delicious and not overly fatty, while the skin was perfectly crispy. Once this process was complete, the chef took the duck back to the kitchen for serving later with lettuce wraps, and finally in a noodle and veggie stir fry. Each dish was remarkably good. Our sushi came out in waves, and in between duck courses. This arrangement worked perfectly. The Shrimp Tempura roll had a pleasing crunch and definite shrimp taste. The Dynamite roll was the most dramatic of our choices, coming out on fire! Salmon, crab and avocado are tempura fried, and topped with a spicy sauce and salmon roe. This was the most delicious of the rolls we ate. The Caterpillar roll blended crab, eel and cucumber, topped with avocado and a sweet eel sauce. Another winner. Lastly, we enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Nigiri, one piece of fresh pink tuna nestled atop a rice ball. This fish was perfectly textured and as fresh as any sushi I've had. In addition to the standard nigiri, sashimi and rolls, there's a whole Pan Asian Menu featuring dishes like Jade Scallops, Chilean Sea Bass, and Ginger Lobster; the aforementioned duck, Chicken Teriyaki and General Tsao chicken; and Sizzling Pepper Steak and Hunan Beef. There is a lot to like about Inyo. The food and atmosphere lend a sophisticated presence to a booming Ferndale restaurant scene. read more

Not bad, but not great. I've given Inyo a few tries (carry-out only), but tonight's trip was kind of a disappointment. I called in my order after looking at the menu online (as usual), and went and got it. I handed the hostess my credit card, and she asked if I wanted to see the bill first. I looked and was shocked to see it was $25. My order was only supposed to be like $17 for 3 rolls. I thought maybe they had added an additional roll or something, but no, the order was right. Turns out they raised all of their prices. A LOT. I mean, enough that it cost an add'l $8. The hostess offered to get the manager, and despite feeling petty I asked if she could. He came over and again, explained that the prices were raised a bit. A bit? Raising it 50 cents to $1/roll is a bit. Raising it $2.50/roll is price gouging. He explained that the website was going to be updated shortly. Now, I'm not cheap. I eat out all the time, indulge myself and well, maybe spend a little too much money here and there. But I was feeling ripped off. He did offer to give me 25% off, which roughly equated to the price inflation, eh, price changes. I will give them credit for honoring the online prices. The quality is alright (ie: not superb), but shoot, their prices are too rich for my blood. $8 for a spicy california roll not even made with real crab? $5 for miso soup? Really? The environment is cool, but shoot, I just can't just justify the prices. read more

Pro: Intimate, well decorated setting Miso soup and hot and sour soup are excellent here. Con: Entrees are pricey and small. Sushi is well designed on the plate, less on the palate. Special vegetarian roll just flat out sucks. Spicy tuna is sub-par. LONG WAIT on Fri & Sat night. Slow service at all times, in all situations. read more

Ugh. Where do I even start. The roll I ordered stated crab on the roll. What I received was imitation crab, basically processed fish. The manager told us that yes, they do use imitation crab but it was misprint on the menu And it's usually labeled. They were sorry and took it off my bill. I really can't justify paying 15 dollars for some processed fake Fish product. Their portions of seaweed salad was small and came in a martini glass (yes, I said martini glass). The rice on the sushi itself was chewy, bland and tasted old. And the generals chicken was cold. Not sad to say I will never come here again. Should have gone with my gut and never even tried this place. waste of money. read more

I was ready to completely deride this place for being another suburban attempt to do "Asian-Fusion" - fried sushi rolls slathered with cream cheese, etc. They do have that, but they also have proper sushi and some other authentic gems. I am glad my Groupon brought me here. In particular, I noticed something called the Shanghai Long Bun - I looked at that name and read it out loud to myself several times slowly. Could it be? A horrible Anglicanization of Xiao Long Bao (steamed soup dumplings)? Indeed it was and it was delicious! When it came out, I was happy to have soup dribbling down my chin when I bit into. I was not sure how to eat it, since they did not give me a soup spoon. I suppose I could have asked, but I was still in awe from the fact that they even had XLB. The Amurricanized sushi is okay, if you are into that sort of thing. The same is the case for the fusion-y stuff. However, these guys get 4 stars for slipping xiao long bao onto their menu and keeping it real. read more

Used to love this place, I've lived in ferndale for many years and have gone many times, not any longer. The lady who sat us was absolutely rude, didn't want to stop what she was doing to even great us/ looked like we were wasting her time. The actual service from the server was great. We ate and then found out they won't take a debit card(an actual form of payment) without a chip (which is what I have) nor Apple Pay. When the same lady that was up front (I assumed she was the host based on her attire and her attitude) informed us of this she was so rude like we were trying to skip out on the bill, it definitely could have been approached in a better way. One of us stayed while I went and got cash to pay the bill, when I came back I was told by her she was the manager, which completely shocked me because of the way she approached the whole billing system. I genuinely didn't believe her because of the way she not only acted but dressed, I even asked the guy up at the stand who actually was a host. Pathetic excuse for a manager, but great reason to not come back. Bye Inyo! read more

Well it had been over a year, the question was did Inyo stand the test of time? Like a good wine, it got better! Everything I said before still true, except this time the service was on point from the first moment! On the suggestion of our passionate waiter (Jamie) we ordered the Jalapeno Calamari, it may have been the best calamari preparation I have had to date! Loved it! Every step was beyond my expectations! Thank You Inyo! read more

The first time I was here was before attending a Thursday night concert at magic bag and I happen to score a really great Groupon deal. The Groupon deal could be applied for both food and alcohol, which rarely happens! My boyfriend and I split a couple rolls, plus he ordered the miso soup and we both had tall cans of Sapporo. The sushi was definitely very good and there was a large variety of roles. More importantly, our waitress was extremely attentive and familiar with the menu. Due to this one great experience, it had us going back for more! The next time, I also got a couple pieces of yellow tail sashimi and it was also fabulous read more

We had a date night here on a Saturday night with a couple friends of ours. When we walked in, the place was packed and there wasn't a table available at 8:30pm. On our way to the bar, a table freed up and it was cleaned immediately for us. We were seated within minutes; I was impressed! We had our glasses filled with water as we were getting situated. The Asian fusion menu features sushi rolls, appetizers, full seafood and poultry entrees, salads, soups, and noodle dishes. We ordered the chicken spring rolls to start. They were delicious and came out hot and fresh. The dipping sauce was such a nice compliment to the spring rolls and had a lot of flavor. I ordered the Snow White roll and the Caterpillar roll. My husband ordered the Vegas roll and the White Dragon roll. This is the best sushi! The presentation is as great as the flavor; they decorate the plate with your food so nicely. The Snow White roll has marinated crab, cucumber, and avocado. It's topped with Albacore tuna and served with a side of ponzu sauce. The Caterpillar roll had eel, marinated crab, and cucumber, then topped with avocado and sesame seeds. The White Dragon roll had both marinated crab and shrimp tempura, and topped with Albacore tuna, avocado, and a spicy chili paste. The Vegas roll was huge and has spicy tuna, salmon, crab meat, eel, white fish, and avocado. It is a tempura (fried) roll with spicy cream sauce, eel sauce, and wasabi mousse. Not to mention it is topped with caviar, which I thought was a nice touch. They brought out plenty of soy sauce to accommodate all 4 of us, too. I have to say my favorite of the 4 was the Vegas roll, it was very filling and had so many components to add to the flavor. Everything I tried was delicious. We were going to explode by the time we finished eating as everyone finished their rolls. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, one of the best sushi restaurants we've ever had. Needless to say, we'll definitely be back to try other rolls and expect a great evening out. read more

Awesome atmosphere at this sushi place! Inyo has a very lounge type feel on the evenings & weekends, and the decor & food have a very modern flare. Great variety of sushi and non-sushi items! And a very impressive presentation of food. Adds a really nice touch to the dining experience! : ) read more

Came here recently on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. The place was packed! And so was the parking lot, unfortunately. I was able to get a spot without having to circle around, luckily, but everyone was having difficulty having one. One of my cousins was out in the parking lot for a good twenty minutes to get parking. Ridiculous. We had a rather big group, probably about 30 people so it took us forever to get served and our food took forever too. At least the restaurant itself was nice to look at while I was staring at the wall for the food. Definitely not the place for a big group. The service was awful, but at least the waiters were polite. Anywho, the place is expensive! Cheapest entree is $15 but most of the dishes (which has small portions) is about $25. The food was subpar- to me, the same quality as your average Chinese restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I love Chinese food, just not for $25. The only thing I really enjoyed was the sushi. It tastes great and it was presented beautifully. Probably won't be coming back though. Oh yeah.. it had a pretty bathroom. Hahah. read more

I haven't been to Inyo in a while, and when we decided on sushi for dinner, I was sick of Ronin and wanted to go somewhere different. We decided on Inyo since we could walk there, and I left wondering why we don't come here more often. We were both starving and ordered five rolls. Yes, five rolls for two people, and I could not care less if that makes us sound like pigs! We had spicy tuna, spicy salmon crunch, spicy lady (seeing the pattern here?), southern, and white dragon. All of them were packed with fresh fish and were really great. We hardly talked while eating besides to look at each other and say, "this is so good" and "why don't we come here more often?" We walked out so satisfied and happy. I almost forgot how big their menu is, and there's enough special sushi rolls that you could come here very frequently and never get bored. I would say 5 stars but it still is slightly overpriced. Not just sushi but some of the apps and such. read more

I ignored Yelp (why do I do that...?) and went with a coupon... For $10 it was okay, but I actually ordered $20 worth of food. Let's start from the top. I tugged on the front door, only to find a note saying to enter through the back. Any time you enter a restaurant through the back alley by the potties, sets up the mood of the encounter. Especially when they have a front door. That they don't use. I stood there for probably 5 minutes. There were two people in front of me, the one was told to sit "wherever" immediately upon my arrival. The second was a carryout who a few minutes into waiting for the hostess pulled up a seat and sighed. I was also told (eventually) to just sit wherever. The trendy environment was immediately diminished by the unpolished, overwhelmed host. The menu was extremely disorganized and difficult to follow. And there were three of them. I settled on a rice hot pot, miso soup, and 2 sushi rolls ($22). The miso soup was the highlight, but even I can make miso soup... From there it fell apart. The sushi rolls were not good. Seems as though this should be the best part of the meal and it just was bad. The rice was overly sticky, the sushi "paper" stuck together, and the avocado had no taste. Even the wasabi was blah. The hot pot was ok, but they oiled the pot to the point that the rice didn't stick and get crispy, it just slid around and got hot(er). For $10, it was mediocre, but I would have been pissed if I spent $22 on it. read more

Went for bottomless drinks, which they have sundays from 11 to 4, and a friend and I got there around 12:30 or 1pm. Service (not for food) was slow even though we were one of maybe 4 tables. After our 2nd mimosa, we noticed the drinks became even slower and they were made with I'm sure by the 4th of all o.j. I wasn't driving for once and left with less then a buzz but my yearly intake of oj. I would recommend la dolce vita just a little further now. Such a better atmopshre, more people, and they keep the drinks coming for the same price. If its not for Sunday brunch, then I would say this place comes close to over priced. I've had much much better sushi for the same price. read more

The place is very nice and has alot of space for seating especially those big booths. Food wise.. I can speak only for sushi. It was terrible for the price that you're paying there. Tuna wasnt fresh, has this weird taste.. maybe its a defrosting taste? Rice has no flavor and super plain. I got my usual tuna roll, plain. Manhattan roll, which I have had somewhere else and became my fav, this one was flavorless. Even w the eel sauce. The sauce was def not authentic. Felt like I had a unflavored lunch. Pretty disappointed. Their website said fresh flown from hawaii... my ass. Def not fresh. For the price too, was not worth it. I expect that quality at a fast pace sushi place. Very disappointed. 2 star bc of presentation and atmosphere. read more

This is my favorite Sushi place in the Ferndale/Royal Oak area that I've tried so far. The vibe feels classy and intimate, I really like the space. The sushi takes a while to come out - but to me that just shows the freshness and care they put into preparing it. I prefer their sushi over Sakana, Little Tree, and Tokyo Sushi nearby. I've also had their spring rolls with cherry sauce - which are unique and VERY yum. Their chicken fried rice is amazing. I'm not a fan of fried rice but I find myself craving this dish. It has fresh ginger, broccoli, and other veggies in it, and the chicken is just right. I'll be back again and again! read more

I decided to try Inyo recently. I wish I had chosen not to. Upon entering, you will notice how well decorated Inyo is. The private booths are nice, but uncomfortable (stiff backed). The prices are pretty high. The sushi was only OK. The Yellow Tail roll was pretty decent. I ordered the Chili Tuna specialty roll and its flavor was good but it came with an IMENSE amount of ground spicy tuna inside... way too much 'tuna paste' for my taste. The GF almost vomited at the table because of the giant amount of pulverized tuna squishing between her teeth. We did not try any of the entree dishes and just ordered sushi. We ordered drinks when we sat down and they came quickly. My Sapporo was not cold enough, though. The GF ordered some Cucumber Mojito Asian drink and it was super creative and delicious! But the glass was so full of ice that it was gone in a flash (not Inyo's fault, unless you fault the bartender for making a great dink!) I don't think I would eat here again. It does not seem worth the price. I would get drinks here at happy hour - when they are half off! read more

1. The decor is so nice. I love the colors. 2. Staff is always knowledgeable. Ask for Brent he's our fav! 3. Food is AMAZING!!! 4. Drinks!! Oh the drinks!!! Get one of everything!! HAAHAH I have tired them all now I think! I would recommend this place to everyone. I would say get there early on a Friday or Saturday or be prepared to wait. Always a great sign! Love Inyo!! I will continue to promote this place to all my friend who love sushi and asian food!! Great Job!! read more

Inyo is pretty good to me. I mean that in the sense that they treat me and my tastebuds right, but my wallet? I'm sorry, I know I'm in Michigan and it probably costs a heck of a lot to ship quality seafood in but I can not get over how SMALL rolls are out in the Midwest. You order a roll in California for $14 and you are probably going to feel like purging because you're so full... what are these 'dainty' little things I keep getting served everywhere!? /rant I've had a few winners and a few losers as far their menu goes but the service has always been excellent and I had a write-home-worthy experience with one of the bartenders here who was funny, charming, and entertaining. So nice too because I know full well I looked frumpy but.. I didn't care.. and neither did he! Unless you also want to look frumpy here I recommend sprucing up a little. This isn't a jeans and t-shirt spot. Also expect dance music playing, loudly. Party with that sushi boii/guurl,don't be shy. Ambiance here is upscale and I really like what they've done inside. I keep coming back so obviously something is working.. So now I'm going to tell you which rolls I like/hate and then leave you alone. Stay away from the Dynamite Roll ($12) it is very blase. I don't know why they light it on fire, I guess to hope you overlook the fact that it isn't that great. Do try out the Spicy Salmon Crunch ($8) or the Spicy Lady ($14). I found both very satisfying. Also, note that the crab salad here isn't on the sweeter side (which I like and feel better mimics, you know, crab) but it can work well with some rolls. I would stay away from rolls such as the California which use it as the main ingredient. read more

I used to come here fairly often but the quality has been in decline in recent years while the price point has stayed high. Worse than slipping quality are the attitudes of the employees. They used to be very friendly but now it's as if you are bothering them. read more

My last visit at Inyo was so disappointing that the experience truly solidified my decision to never return, odd thing is that I don't believe they would exctually care. I visited during the week day after work. My favorite dishes were the hot appetizers, calamari and soft she'll crab. I entered the restaurant with my stomach caressing my back so I was not in the best mood, however, I knew I had to make the best of it and hope for a pleasant experience and professional service, not even close. I walked up to the host station where another patron was waiting for carryout. After a good 5 minutes of standing with no staff in sight and one carryout customer triggered the feelings of oh, here we go again. The hostess finally came from the kitchen looking as if she was doing several jobs. I get it, it happens. So I asked for a table for one then she stated " you can have a seat wherever you like" . Strike 2, so I proceeded to walk and look for a seat after passing up 5 filthy tables I should have said strike 3 and your out, but I was hungry. So I back tracked for a once over and finally found a clean booth. I sat and the hostess brought a menu and water and said your waitress will be with you shortly , ok things are about to start looking up. NOPE! I sat there 10 minutes before a waitress finally came, remind you I already knew what I wanted so the wait was so excruciating. I was so upset by everything leading up til now. Finally a waitress came and she was pleasant enough just to get a tip. My order was wrong so I had to wait for the to correct the order another 10-15 minutes. I feel that in such a short period of time this place has truly began to decline. The menu items are overpriced especially given the poor dinning experience. This place had such potential and this is why I returned, but it is amazing how much they have declined. I left upset and disappointed that my willpower and stomach was working against me. I pride myself on being fair and I wanted to love this place, this was the second time where the service was extremely slow, but I refuse to patronize an establishment with such a poor wait staff. Atmosphere not welcoming at all. I truly don't mind paying for great food and service, but I refuse to give away my hard earned coins! read more

I've come here a few times and it's usually a little slow but today was just absolutely abysmal. When we sat down at the table the waitress we had greeted us by telling us her name and that she's usually behind the bar but today she's waiting tables. Kind of an odd greeting but we didn't think anything of it. She then told us that she had a large party she was serving and that communication was gonna be key. I've worked in retail most of my life, so I can definitely understand and appreciate the sentiment. We told her we needed just a moment to order and she said "great" then walked away. We decided what we wanted about 5 minutes but she was no where to be found. So we waited... and waited... and waited. We tried to flag her down a few times as she went past but it seems like she never saw us or just chose not to. 20 minutes go by and we finally have enough and go up to the bar. We sit down the bartender greets us. He eventually figured out that we had moved from a table and becomes visibly annoyed. We tell him we're ready to order and he asks for a couple minutes. We then watch him wander around, clean some glasses, wipe down the bar, and take another persons drink order. After about 30 minutes total of waiting we finally get our food order in. I can understand and empathize with being busy. But if you have a table that large and you can't manage it, don't try to take other tables. There are plenty of other waiters in the restaurant, it's not that large and I counted at least 4 others kinda meandering around. Overall, between the service I've had here before, and today, I don't know that I'm ever gonna be coming back. read more

I didn't realize how nice the restaurant was until we walked in, and I, of course, was wearing sweatpants. The atmosphere and the tableware was very nice and trendy. I do wish Yelp let us award a half star. When this place first opened it was 4 star all the way but I do think they've slaked a wee bit. I must say my last visit here was great. I had the sashimi salad and while it was pricey at almost 20 bucks it was very good. fresh greens, a great selection of fish, avocado and a ginger dressing. The let down were the gyozu off the dim sum menu. I swear to GOD they came frozen from a bag. This place suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. If you want to go high end then do it! Forget the specials and catering to the masses. Do your food, plate it beautifully and execute it every damn time. read more

My girlfriends and I went to Inyo on a Friday night and had a great experience. The place was pretty busy and we weren't able to get one of their nice, private booths - but we had a good table near the middle of the space. (The tables near the front of the restaurant would get a blast of cold every time the door opened.) The decor and overall environment was really elegant - even the restrooms were appointed nicely with bamboo, beautiful granite and stone fixtures. We split several appetizers and everything was great. Started with the standard edamame, then had a salad with avocado and asparagus. The ginger dressing was really nice and presentation was beautiful but the asparagus was large and tasteless - since its out of season no big surprise. Next course was a tray of california rolls - which were yummy -very fresh and we loved that the rolls were "bite-sized" instead of trying to cram a giant sushi roll in all at once. Then, we had the Chicken lettuce wraps - served with beautifully presented boston bib lettuce (not the iceberg like PF Changs). The chicken was mixed with pine nuts- really delicious. My friends had the dim sum dumplings which they really enjoyed - but I'm not a pork eater, so I didn't partake. Service was good - but a little overzealous with trying to clear our table before we were finished eating. By the end of our meal, we joked we'd bite their hands if they asked to take our plates yet again. :) My only complaint was that the wine, served by the glass, was pretty pricey: $9 glass for a mediocre cabernet. But the food prices were very reasonable. By the time we left the restaurant at about 10:30 - it was definitely turning a little lounge-y - the music and crowd changed a bit. Overall Inyo is a great addition to the Ferndale restaurant scene. read more

Seriously the smallest rolls I've seen in any sushi place of the hundreds I've been too - coupled with the highest prices I've seen anywhere around Detroit. Oh my gosh. Of all the asian restaurants I've been to, I can say that Inyo has been the one of the best *lovestruck face*. My sister had a group on and had been begging me to try it. We started off with the spicy tuna pizza, which was probably the best part of my meal. I absolutely loved it, and the pieces of avocado stuffed inside. Yum, we also got two rolls, and a lunch special. The rolls were awesome as well, Golden and Dynamite. Dynamite came out on fire, which was super cool! I literally have been craving it since the moment I left. BUT TO BE HONEST... Service wasn't all that. My husband and I have been regulars here since it first opened and I should have written this review a while back. We always enjoy our Inyo experiences. We typically sit in the dining room in one of the comfy booths that make you feel like you are dining in complete privacy. We love when Tom is working because he always makes sure to go out of his way to extend wonderful service and complete knowledge of the food & drink menu. But, even when we sit at the bar or have a different server, we are always completely taken care of and find the cuisine to be innovative and delicious. We have tried rolls, sea bass, tuna pizza & other entrees on various visits and we have never had a complaint. I also just visited for happy hour because in the past I guess I just never think of Inyo when looking for a place to spend happy hour. But the food & drink options are really good and the prices range from like $3 - $6 for nice size apps. Consistence in yummy fresh goodness and lovely service is key in a place we like to frequent, which is why we will continue to do so. read more

The fact that you see it on Groupon everyday without fail, speaks volume. The only good thing I can say about this place is that looks nice. The sushi is just plain awful. The fish was fine, but the rice was so poorly executed, it ruined the entire experience. I have tried this place twice and both times, i left wishing I had gone anywhere but Inyo. There are a ton of great eateries in downtown Ferndale, but sadly, Inyo is not one of them. read more

I was walking around Ferndale with my boyfriend and we decided to try Inyo. It's very cold outside and we were very hungry so we didn't feel like trekking any more. We literally waited fifteen minutes to get a menu and then another ten minutes before we got up and left. Nobody came to get our order. I told him to touch it then he began to tell me that he just reheated it in the microwave. I asked him to cash out. Never been back. read more

Solid 3 stars, though I feel like giving it 5 just for the drink I ordered. See, I'm a vodka tonic drinker: it's safe and reliable just like my Honda Civic. With the substantially slow service on the back patio, I couldn't help but peruse the drink menu- that's when I saw the Godzilla. Did I mention that, as a child, I always told people I wanted to grow up to be Godzilla? No? Yea. I don't know what TY KU Liqueur is, and I usually hate Hennessy VS- but the combination was surprisingly pleasant, fragrant, and lovely. Not exactly what I expected from a drink named "Godzilla", but it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless, and I was relieved that it wasn't some sock-u-in-the-face drink that would chase me straight back to my old standby. The rest of the experience? Meh. The presentation was lovely, but the food itself was forgettable. I liked sitting on the back patio to watch the cougars and misfit bro's coming and going from Boogie Fever, and thus avoided the blaring house music I could hear inside. read more

Alright, so I have to say, this place surprised the socks out of me! I must admit, I dislike Asian fusion places with a passion and coming from the East Coast, I had very high expectation of good sushi places. However, that's where my conceited notions ended, and my great experience began. Coupla positive pointers: 1. AMAZING salmon! wow, this came out of nowhere! My friend and I ordered a "Chef's special plate" and there were multiple, large portions of good quality fish. But, the salmon was so tender, fatty, and full of flavors that everything else paled in comparison. 2. Use Groupon - enough said 3. Good service Some down-sides: 1. This place was a bit loud, and it was difficult to have a conversation when you were trying to outshout the music. 2. When choosing the "Chef Special" we had specifically mentioned "no shrimp," but apparently that message was dropped somewhere down the line. So, we were kinda disappointed, but didn't fuss too much. 3. It's a bit $$$ Food: 4 stars Price: 3 stars Vibe: 3 stars read more

Went there for dinner. Sushi was delicious in ordered a spicy salmon crunch. Sushi was fresh and had a side of gochujang which was great. Definetly fresh. Presentation choice was interesting, for 8 peices you got a plate that was half the table aha I mean is that practice. Others ordered more decorated meals they were pretty good. Atmosphere is upscale and very presentable. Waiters were nice and were a lot of them. read more
