The restaurant is dated but offers plenty of seating. It's clean. The staff is very attentive. They clear plates and refill drinks regularly. The food: Think high school cafeteria and you won't be disappointed. The plus side is there is a wide variety to choose from. Entrees, side dishes and desserts. Finally this horrible buffet is closed!! The servers are rude and they watch you constantly so why do you do that? You guys haven't seen people eat before? And the food was too salty and bland tasting. They try to rush you out 30 minutes in, they put the plastic tray with the fortunes cookies on your table when the table is full of plates of food. First time here and what I can say is that the food here is good but there were some not so good. The tri-tip they were serving was not moist or juicy but it was just dry on the inside. Must've cooked it for too long and so the heat just absorbed all that juiciness from the meat. The sushi's were like ehhh because they looked and tasted not fresh. Hadn't been here in a few years and decided to pay them a visit. Food and fruit selection is basic. Noodles aren't the best and I were over cooked and lacked flavor. The mayonnaise shrimp was chewy and hard -- like it had been under the lamp for a long time. The desserts were limited and not fresh. However, price point for children is almost the same which is very high! Prices are high and there is nothing high end here. We paid over $80 for two adults and Two children ages 7. Definitely not worth it! We only got iced waters and 2 Pepsi's which tasted bad. The restaurant needs some upgrades and attention should be focused on having the restaurant clean. In addition, I was also shocked to see a sign on all tables stating that leftovers were going to be charged $5 in order to limit food waste which is understandable. This is where it gets good... The food is BAD!; selection, quality, and taste! All food is old, tasteless, dirty and very sloppy overall. They offer a lot of seafood items, which is dangerous! all I could think was food poisoning and upset stomach. I had my family with me, and didn't want to be a party pooper so I kept it the safest possible and did Salad Bar, I figured everything is canned and couldn't be too bad. Let's talk about service, the staff is rude, and awkward. They stare and follow you around as if you were stealing or doing something wrong. The restaurant is average good, their menu is always the same. I have come here either weekends or middle week and is all the same. The good side of it is there is always room to seat. I start with the salad bar, then move on to the main course, many Chinese dishes including fried rice, as well as sushi, and cheese and pepperoni pizza for the kids. There's always corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, yams, ribs... Dessert has many fresh fruit options, jello, a soft serve ice cream machine dispensing vanilla and chocolate, with various toppings like sprinkles and wiped cream. Another review says the food is left out too long, which is virtually impossible from my experience. The food moves fast, and is constantly replaced with a fresh tray. I like to get takeout since this place is so close to home. I've been coming to this place for over a year since it's so close to home, it's convenient, & for a buffet, they have some items that aren't too too bad. But after what happened toy, I'm debating if I want to come back. Again, I live less than 5 minutes from here. I get take out because it's fast, & I can feed me & my mom. For quite time this place charged $17 for a takeout styrofoam box. I ALWAYS pick the same items: steamed fish, crawfish (love), green beans, I like their shrimp; I only take the shrimp & add to the string beans to make my own okazu; their chicken wings, & lastly, I get their roast brisket $ gravy. The rest of the buffet I take a pass. When I went there today, they charged me $18 for the to-go plate. The styrofoam plate that was given to me was a lot smaller & they the price went went from $17 to $18 for takeout & I made a comment about it. The women who was @ the cashier ball faced lied & said that it was the same size container it has been. I called her out that that wasn't the case & said that I've been coming there for quite some time. She could have acknowledged that they changed the size of the container instead of thinking I'm too stupid too notice the smaller container. Instead she she just said, 'Well, do you want this or not?' The only reason why I chose to pay was I was already committed to this meal & didn't want to go looking for another place for dinner. Came here for my first dine-in buffet experience in CA since the pandemic. They're doing a decent job reopening, using disposable plates and utensils. The food was tolerable; I didn't think it was necessarily disgusting compared to some of the prior reviews, but there was not anything noteworthy. The main dish I did rather enjoy was the jalapeno chicken, which was crispy and sweet. The fruit tasted fresh and fine. Their salad bar is actually better than I would have expected with a decent variety. The sushi bar is almost nonexistent asides from some California rolls and 1-2 okay buffet-quality nigiri. Dessert options were disappointing, consisting of pre-bought pastries & cakes. This is an - okay - place if you're looking for a cheap buffet. I rated this a 3 instead of 2 stars because I appreciate their effort to be one of the first buffets to reopen dine-in safely.
