Delicious Cake! Totally recommend International Bakery in Hackensack, NJ
    Blu B.

Delicious cake! Second time at International Bakery, and loving their cake! Had real banana, peach and strawberry filling.

Vanilla creme filled pastry and buttery flaky bread. $1.50 each. Delicious!

Paris Baguette - Chausson aux Pommes

I've been to various Paris Baguette locations around Central Jersey, and honestly, I wasn't a huge…read morefan... until recently. Let me explain. At one location I frequented, the coffee had really disappointed me. Once upon a time, their coffee was delicious, with rich, chocolatey notes, but the last few visits left me with bitter, almost burnt-tasting drinks, and no amount of milk could fix it. This was surprising, since they supposedly use LavAzza beans. I also never loved their cakes; I often found them too heavy on icing and light on actual cake. However, on a recent trip while shopping at 99 Ranch Market (which is conveniently right next door), we decided to give Paris Baguette another try and treat ourselves to pastries. I was immediately impressed by their selection and how frequently the display was refilled. Every item was behind a glass case, which felt very clean and hygienic. The cashiers were great at making the hot beverages, and they asked if we had a rewards program with them. We gave them our phone numbers, and it turned out none of us had signed up or that they expired. Here's what we purchased: - Cafe Mocha - 5/5 stars. Perfect balance of espresso and chocolate. The barista even made a heart on top. Although the lid covered it, the gesture was appreciated. - Cold Brew - 5/5 stars. Smooth and refreshing. - Chausson aux Pommes - 4/5 stars. A French apple turnover with a perfectly crisp crust and tender, flavorful apples that weren't mushy. - Croissant Donut - 5/5 stars. Flaky, buttery croissant-like in shape of a donut, filled with custard that was bright due to the citrus, and well-balanced between sweet and savory. - Blueberry & Cream Brioche - 5/5 stars. Their crust was crispy and light. It was an indulgent treat that was well balanced as the custard was rich, soft, and just sweet enough without being heavy. Patrons can help themselves to cream, milk, utensils, and napkins, which is convenient. The seating is roomy and relaxing, perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries. It's located in the Home Depot strip mall. Parking is usually easy on weekdays, but weekends can get a little hectic. Overall, this visit completely changed my opinion of Paris Baguette. The coffee and pastries were impeccable, and the environment made for a pleasant, stress-free experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby.

There's no wall menu and the bakers primary language is Spanish, so I am unable to identify the types of sweet bread. Name or no name, the bread is a sweet choice to supplement your breakfast. They each have a light, puffy, and flaky texture and are great for dipping in your morning cup of Joe. If you aren't craving pastries, there is a lunch selection available. Double wrapped in two soft shells, the tacos are a quick, but satisfying meal. In my opinion, it wasn't necessary to include cucumbers and lime. But, the chopped radishes surprisingly gave the tacos a nice crunch and you can never have enough cilantro and hot sauce. Whether you are in the mood for breakfast or dessert pastries, stop by for treats that are light on both your tummy and wallet! #LaRancherita #sweetbread #flan #tacos #bergenfieldnj #nwashingtonave #spanishbakery

You know some of the ways to tell if ethnic food is good in a non enclave area? These aren't 100% but often good signs. The workers mostly don't speak English. The customers are all that ethnicity, many of them also speaking little to no English. They hit both. It helps a lot to speak Spanish, especially over the fone. But they make it work if all you know is gringo. Huge tortas. Surprisingly good shrimp quesadillas. Proper tacos and birria with the consommé. Refreshing salsa verde and creamy salsa roja. Big flavors. Admittedly I'm not a fan of their baked goods, but they do have good priced specials on them.

Tried the matcha latte and really enjoyed it. The matcha flavor was really present and love the creaminess of it which is just how I like it. Took a sip of my parents lavender latte and OMG I am in love!! One of the tastier drinks I've had in a while. Really love the floral taste of the lavender but it wasn't so overwhelming that it felt like I was drinking soap. It was so good Would definitely be back just for the lavender latte... wait scratch that, I DEFINITELY will be back. And this time I don't want to share lol And I'm also excited to try out their other drinks cause they had a lot of unique and interesting offerings. Another great Java, where the chocolate drizzle and foam made it a memorable selection. Besides Liquid Gold, I ordered a slice of their Chocolate Marble Cake and it was....AWESOME! Moist, firm, pleasantly sweet, and was a perfect complement to the Brain Juice. Thank you, Cafe Tesia, for making this stop worth the time. "Tous…read moreles jours" is a French phrase that translates to "every day" or "all the time" in English... meaning all of their products are freshly baked daily! I visited the Bergenfield location on Mother's Day to pick up a cake. There's a parking lot in the back of the store. The interior is small with a few tables/seating available. Very clean, bright, and warm look. It was a busy Sunday morning, but the employees worked quickly and efficiently. Their cake menu has a huge variety of options - fruity flavors, chocolate, Asian-inspired flavors, etc. I ordered the Raspberry Lemon cake (~$45). Yes, their cake prices are on the steeper end... but they are beautifully decorated, elegant, made with high quality ingredients, and freshly baked on-site every day. The cake was packaged in a specially designed box. I loved the functionality of it; it was sturdy with handles for you to hold at the top. It even came with a complimentary cake cutter, matches, and Mother's Day cake topper! My mom and family enjoyed the cake. It was light, fruity, and zesty! Not overly sweet at all. The buttercream frosting was made out of raspberry cream cheese. The cake was moist and fluffy, with a taste similar to lemon pound cake. It had layers of raspberry and lemon filling. It was topped with yellow and pink piping for a vibrant pop of color. I would definitely come back here to get cakes for a special occasion. I would also love to try their decadent pastries and drinks - they have so many options!

Anyway, came here on a weekday afternoon and wasn't busy at all- that's not to say that the food/bakery wasn't good. It was AMAZING. I got the lunch special which was chicken soup with breaded filet, salad and rice for $12.99. WHAT! And that portion was BIG as you can see from the pictures. Our server was attentive and got us whatever we needed almost right away! My breaded filet came out delicious. Perfect amount of crispy where it's not overdone and it wasn't drenched in any sauce that made the filet soggy. The house salad was simple yet flavorful and that chicken noodle soup was SO hearty that I wanted to go in the kitchen and scoop myself more. The place is big and bright and clean.
