Before Cristal, I was always hesitant about cakes because most of the time the beautiful as the tic of the cake meant the taste of the cake was compromised, but not with her cakes! Cristal's cakes look as amazing as they taste. My personal favorite is chocolate Nutella, but honestly, I could go for any of the flavors that she makes. She takes her time to create these tasty pieces of edible art and it is well worth it! Her cupcakes and cookies are also incredibly delicious and phenomenal. I have finally found somebody that makes beautiful and delicious cakes without me having to travel more than 10 minutes from home to pick an order up! At first I got so anxious when Cristal, the owner, told me she was running late but as soon as i saw that cake i knew the wait was worth it. Prior to that, i communicated to her what I wanted and she was quick enough to respond to my inquiries. It was actually a very quick order, i guess because i already knew what i wanted and she can pretty much do what you ask for. Anyway, the cake was for my mother's bday. I wanted a naked drip cake with red roses which my mother likes. And for the flavors she was able to customize and incorporate the two flavors that we requested which was carrot and chocolate. The way she handcrafted this cake is just amazing! She alternated the two flavors and topped the cake off with real red roses (very fresh beautiful ones at that!). The gold drip just made it look very elegant and oh i could just rave about it. Everybody loved the cake and complimented on how pretty it looked. Even the staff from the restaurant where we celebrated asked me where I got it and asked for Cristal's number. They took pictures too! So disappointing... I was looking forward to try caramel cake for my 23rd. I wanted a simple cake to celebrate my accomplishment for graduating with a bachelors degree and my birthday. Well she never ever started my ordered even though we discuss it via emails for over a week. She let me know last minute that she couldn't do it. Basically 1 hour before I could pick up the cake. I was able to order a salted caramel cake from Cristal in such a short notice. I picked up my cake at Cristal's house. I was in awe and shocked when I saw my cake. The owner Cristal is probably one the most unprofessional "business" owners I've spoken to. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus a lot of events were being canceled, like the baby shower for my sister n law. First of all it took her almost a week to respond to my email about setting up a date for a cake. I should of went with my gut feeling after that but decided to continue my business w her. I put $160 as half a deposit to hold the date. A week before the baby shower everything was being canceled, no future shower so there was no need for the cake. She refused to give me my money back, kept replying that it wasn't in there policy or she would give me store credit...I explained I'm from Westchester not jersey, only reason why I wanted to purchase cake was bc the event was being held in jersey and besides that, there was not going to be a shower anymore. So rude on the phone, they didn't even make the cake and you couldn't give back the $160...with what's going on with the world right now that was so unethical. I wanted a custom cake to celebrate my daughter's college graduation from nursing school. I was coordinating this effort from CA for the party that would be in NJ. I contacted several different bakeries and Cristal was the only one who consistently communicated and assured me that my cake would be as requested. It was a little nerve wracking not having anything to go on other than the reviews but her communication gave me piece of mind. I sent photos to Cristal of what we wanted and she made an amazing cake that exceeded all of our expectations. She even did a free hand of the school logo that was on the cake. We also needed a gluten free cake since my daughter has celiac disease. We chose a lemon cake with raspberry and lemon mousse filling. The cake was delicious. Gluten free cake can be sketchy, but the texture and flavor of this cake was perfect. It lasted for several days beyond the event without losing flavor and tasted just as good as it did on the day of the event. Finally, for a small fee, Cristal delivered the cake to our location. It is a great service so that we didn't have to worry about getting the cake in advance of our party, especially since we weren't from the area and didn't need the extra stress of transporting the cake.
