Amazing staff, great location for walking to shops along Canary Row and the Aquarium. The rooms are also a nice size, with comfortable beds and a view of the ocean. We loved having a small balcony to enjoy the fresh breeze in the evening. The rooms have both a tub and shower, this is a double bonus! Two thumbs up for the bathroom. We purchased some snacks before going to our room which of course were a bit overpriced like any hotel. Bonus we were upgraded during our stay since I was a Club member. This is an excellent, quiet and relaxing property. Kudos to the awesome team!

Great location to the aquarium, downtown, historic street of Cannery Row. Easy check in. Comfortable rooms and private outdoor patio area. Nice ambiance with fresh orchids in the lobby and hotel rooms. Parking is flat rate whether it is valet or self park. Parking location is a couple blocks from the hotel so we elected for valet each time. They give you a card to request the car ahead of time. Good size gym, everything you would need to stay active during a short stay. Small pool for laps. Enjoyed the hot tub.

Our stay at the InterContinental The Clement Monterey was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, everything felt lavish, elegant, and welcoming. The hotel itself is beautiful and has such a relaxing coastal luxury vibe. Our room was amazing -- it had a cozy fireplace, a fully stocked refrigerator, a private patio deck, and a stunning ocean view. Waking up and hearing the ocean right outside was such a peaceful experience. The details in the room made it feel really upscale but still comfortable for a family. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the indoor spa area, which felt like a little retreat inside the hotel. They also have a quiet reading room, which was such a nice touch if you just want to relax and unwind. The room service was excellent and everything about the service felt very high-end. The location is perfect. It's literally right next door to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which made it so easy for a family visit, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is right on the other side along Cannery Row. There are so many places to walk, eat, and explore nearby. Overall, it was just grand, beautiful, and the perfect place for a family vacation. If you want a place that feels special, relaxing, and right by the ocean, this hotel is absolutely worth it. We will definitely be coming back!

It's not cheap, but it's an exceptional experience! From the front desk team who took great care of us, to the superb dinner and drinks in the restaurant. It was safe to walk my dog at dark and the front desk gentleman made to sure to upgrade us to a room that had easy access to the walking path and garage.

Our stay here was good, it has a great bike path that takes you by the aquarium behind cannery row. It's right on the water so views are great. Our room had a patio since we travel with our pups. Valet was very helpful when recommending places only downfall, is there is not usb or micro usb charging ports in the room, only standard charging outlets. I definitely recommend staying here if you want to be in the middle of everything.

We had an amazing stay from check in to check out. The valet team was amazing. They had our car out promptly every time. Our room was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pits outside by the water. We also loved the Christmas tree and the seating around it and the cute tic tac toe games. This was such a wonderful experience.

This is the only place we stay in Monterey (if we aren't staying w family lol) - it's so close to everything. Valet the car and just walk all over. Staff is always really helpful and friendly. Rooms are well appointed and I use that fireplace non stop. The courtyard can get loud at night. Some nights they'd have groups down by the fire pit thing, partying it up lol. We come fr a big city and don't at all mind falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and people having a good time. The breeze fr the doors is the best, but we like to sleep cold lol. The fireplace keeps the room cozy and warm in the day. I like intercontinental hotels overall, but this location is my favorite. We stay about 2 weeks a year. The only things I think they could improve on is the gym. It's not the best lol. Also, we've gone w friends who got rooms across the street in that other building. I personally only stay and recommend the main building on the water. Also, the pools not really a pool lol and that's totally fine bc it's never warm enough in Monterey for my kids to swim anyway. One trip, we booked the full oceanfront room and we didn't care for it as much as the courtyard view, bc at night it's just all blackness lol. The courtyards got more lights and action lol and you can still smell and hear the ocean at night.

We arrived on Monday, March 30th and checked in about 4pm. This is usually our favorite hotel, but after what happened, we will never stay here again. My husband and I left our room to go eat at the C-bar which is in this hotel. My husband said he thought it was closed because no one was there. So, I went to the front desk to check. I approached a young man by the name of Matt if the restaurant was open and he stated it was, but that I needed to go back outside because of the fire alarm. The way he spoke to me was like I was 5 years old. I explained to him that I never heard a fire alarm and that I was never outside but in my room. At that same time, everyone was coming back in and I just left. My husband asked what happened and I told him what Matt said to me. My husband became very upset that he went to the front desk and spoke to the assistant manager Phil. My husband explained what happened, but he was very condescending. I'm not sure if Matt and him are buddies because he seemed like he didn't want to deal with us so we left. We were ready to put everything behind us and go get something to eat. As we walked outside, we ran right into Matt from valet. My husband said are you Matt? He said yes. My husband said to him its not right how you talked to my wife. Matt acted like he didn't do anything and I just pulled husband to just go and eat. A few minutes after leaving, we see a black truck pass us and stops at a stop sign in front of us. A car on the other side of street flashes his lights to go, but he doesn't go. He waits until we reach the stop sign and rolls down his windows and begins yelling at us and then speeds off. I did take a picture of the truck. He let us know he was from valet and I assume he was Matt's friend coming to intimidate us. We immediately went back to the hotel to speak to Phil who is still talking down to us and acts like he didn't care. My husband told him he just wants to go home and if he can just refund the room. At first he was acting like he wasn't going to do it, but then my husband asked again and Phil reluctantly said he would. During the whole time he never apologized to us for what happened until the very end when we were waiting for our car. In all my times of staying at any hotel, I have never been treated so badly. This was our last time. Next time we can come to Monterey we will be staying at Monterey Plaza Hotel!

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

We only tried breakfast at the restaurant but it was great. The serving sizes were huge. Definitely could have split one plate between 2 people. Even the kids meal was a large portion size. I will say however, that this is not the most accessible hotel if you have a stroller or wheelchair. The lobby has an accessible lift (the entrance is at the bottom of a small staircase), but we didnt know this when first walking over. So I spent a few minutes walking around the property trying to look for a way to get my stroller and 2 kids up to the front desk. The lift is also pretty narrow. I have a tandem double stroller so I was able to fit, but I dont think I would have been able to use the lift if I had a side by side double stroller. The only other way to get up to the lobby is to go through one of the elevators in the parking garage. But if you didn't park in the garage, then you'd have to walk your stroller (or move your wheelchair) into the parking garage and then use the correct elevator to get to the main lobby. Having small kids, this was just more inconvenient than anything. Not the hotel's fault, but just not a great fit for us at this time. I am grateful that they have multiple elevators throughout the parking garage so that you dont have to walk all the way across the property to use the elevator. The hotel was also recently renovated, but the attention to detail just wasnt there. One of the towel hooks in our bathroom was hanging off our wall, the light in the hallway was crooked and was very wobbly, and there was a panel that was supposed to covering the wires from the phone that was kinda just hanging loosely. Not a big deal for us, but just things that we noticed that could've used some work. Overall, not a bad hotel, but the stroller accessibility was just not a great fit for us as a family with young kids.

So either housekeeping was being dishonest about finding it originally, or they're being dishonest about changing the bedding between guests.) And now, after nearly a month of waiting, calling, and emailing, the kindle was FINALLY mailed. My initial review still stands. What an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. "Disappointed" would be an understatement. Booked one night (using points) at this property and really wish we hadn't. Was charged a mystery $50 fee at check in. Then at checkout we asked what it was for, the guy working the front desk didn't have a clue and he tried to say he'd fix it "when the computers were working again." When we called his bluff by saying we'd come back in an hour, it was magically fixed. Shady! The room itself was meh... the floors were strangely sloped/didn't feel level. The real kicker here: there was no bedside table on my side of the bed (an inconvenience in itself), so my kindle was placed on the bed with me. I unfortunately forgot my kindle on the bed and didn't realize until we had checked out and were hours away. We called the hotel and were told they didn't find anything in the room. I know for a fact it was left in that room (I've double triple quadruple checked my luggage and there's no where else it could possibly be). Again, SHADY.

One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on. Nobody was around and they do run on sensors. Not a significant event but certainly was well timed. Overall, Hotel Del Monte struck the perfect balance between comfort, history, and a touch of playful spookiness. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monterrey that has access to a military installation--especially if you're looking for more than just a hotel, but a memorable experience.

The interior is also gorgeous, and it's amazing how well they've kept up the history of this place. We stayed in a queen suite, which was very outdated. Our only negative was that we were given the first room next to the entrance and stairwell, which was not fun to hear folks stomping up and down the stairs and slamming the doors.
