Had a great experience! Booked through Expedia for $122 on a Saturday night. Check in was easy and we could choose which floor we wanted to stay on. The lobby was very clean and had free coffee/tea/water. Our room was very clean and nice. You have to turn your fridge on when you get into the room. Due to them trying to save electricity. The elevator worked which was great and so did the ice machines. There is a chevron directly next to the hotel so you can go and get snacks or drinks. The only downside was no microwave in your room. BUT there was a microwave in the lobby to use. I would totally stay here again.

3.5 stars. I was able to book 2 nights for a last minute getaway to Monterey. I was lucky to see there was a 30% off promo going on for the Labor Day weekend. For a last minute booking, the price wasn't terrible, at $350 total for two nights. I was also able to call in advance to request a room on the top floor since I don't like hearing people stomping around at night when I'm trying to sleep lol. The location is very convienent, about 15 minutes walk to go to fisherman's wharf, and about 20-30 mins to walk to Cannery Row/the aquarium. There's lots of restauraunts and cafes within walking distances, and the motel is located directly in front of a gas station/convienence store. I was surprised to see that the room wasn't as small as I expected, since on the website it described the room as "junior". There's plenty of room for two people. I also liked how the bathroom had a hand soap dispenser! I detest hotel bar soaps to wash my hands because eventually they get nasty, so that was nice to have. The bed was surprisingly comfy too. Now for the ugly- I noticed there was a small speck of a bloodstain on the bedsheets. The bedsheets were obviously cleaned, but it was a bit off putting to see that. I didn't want to make a fuss out of it since it was a very small stain. I also noticed there was a small stain probably from a beverage on the nightstand, and it made me question if the surfaces in the motel was wiped thoroughly or not. My room was also located on the side where the busy intersection is so it was a little bit noisy. If I stay here again, I'd recommend requesting a room away from the busy street. There's 24/7 coffee and tea and a water dispenser near the front desk. Front desk was very friendly. We were able to park our car underground, which had a convienent elevator. We were able to leave our car parked even after we checked out the same day, so we walked downtown to grab breakfast before we headed back home.

Great location. Free Parking. NO "resort fees". Near bus stop to MB Aquarium, A/B bus a few steps away. Stayed here for sold out Hyatt Regency event. 20 min walk along Fremont & 10th st. Public Trans To: 11 min bus #7. Return: A/B $2ea way. Most rooms are renovated except for the smelly ancient rug & curtains. Small 32" HDTV comp coffee, room safe, & mini-fridge. No microwave. Beds are soft and clean sheets. UV/Blacklight confirmed. There's a Denny's, Casa Munras, and other restaurants. Good value even for the high (It's Monterey) price.

This is a converted strip motel so not a luxury hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely upgraded. Our first room had a nice but tiny bathroom so we asked to switch rooms. The owner or manager was very accommodating and was able to get us a room with a larger bathroom for our 4 day stay here. There is a front desk staff 24/7 which is reassuring with complimentary coffee/tea/ hot water. The rooms have a fridge but no microwave but they do have one to share in the lobby. The pool is not heated in the off season. There is a small amount of parking on the ground level and more underground. I do recommend slowing way down to turn into the parking area by the office as it is an awkward turn. The location is close to the downtown area which is what I was looking for. A bit farther for fisherman's wharf or cannery row (15min walk at least). There are restaurants walking distance in the downtown area. Traffic noise did not bother me as my husband snores louder so I use ear plugs. It is by a main street as others have mentioned but they do have new windows that help decrease the noise level when closed. Overall enjoyed my stay, thank you. I would normally rate this 3 stars but with the service +1 star. The hotel I was originally planning on staying at was fully booked so this was my backup and it worked out. Value for price is moderate.

Okay, this hotel is not perfect, but I still think they deserve 5 stars because you get good value for what you pay, and everything was in working order during our stay. The office was a bit confusing to find because it's on the opposite side from the garage (they have both underground parking and a small upper lot). The front desk let us know that if hotel parking fills up at night (and it did), that we could park on the street until 11am. The staff checking us in quickly went over small details like that and gave us the key cards, no problems, no wait on a Saturday afternoon. Our room, furniture, and sheets were clean, and had everything we needed (there was no microwave in the room, as advertised on their website, but we didn't need it). The carpet was fine, no unpleasant stains. We were able to connect an HDMI cable to the TV and connect a latop, and change the source/input on the TV which was cool since they don't have movies for purchase. It's not a giant room, but it wasn't tiny either, so we were comfortable. They have lots of lights, including plenty of reading lights, which I think is uncommon. Also, lots of outlets, and conveniently placed near TV, desk, and both sides of the bed, good for charging phones. The bathroom was pretty standard, the shower was modern with nice touches, good water pressure, and shower head and space made for tall people.. yes higher than most hotels. Thermostat and mini fridge worked great, and I loved that checkout was at 12 noon, instead of 11am like most hotels (since that gives me more time in the morning). Also, this hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Monterey wharf, which was ideal for our trip.

Very Nice Very Clean Love the underground private parking With elevator to my room Perfect location

When we decided to extend our stay by an extra night, our harbor-view room wasn't available for the additional night, but they went out of their way to make it work so we didn't have to switch rooms. We really appreciated that! Parking was also very reasonably priced at $25, especially compared to other hotels in the area. The room itself was spacious, the bed was very comfortable (firm, just how we like it), and the harbor view was absolutely perfect. We were a little concerned after reading reviews about the sea lions being noisy, but we actually loved hearing them from the balcony! Once the balcony door was closed, we couldn't hear them at all, and they never disturbed our sleep. One of our favorite perks was the complimentary binoculars available to guests--they were a fun touch for watching the harbor. And don't miss the sunrise from the fourth-floor rooftop terrace--it's absolutely beautiful! There were just a few minor things that could be improved. The hotel only has one elevator, and it can be quite slow during busy times. We also wish the freshly baked cookies were available throughout the day. They were put out around 3:00 p.m., but they disappeared almost immediately because they were so popular. When we arrived, our room temperature was around 78°F. We called the front desk to ask about the A/C and were told someone would come up. Security arrived and explained that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, so the options are to use the fan or open the balcony door. It would have been helpful if the front desk had shared that information when we called. We left the screened balcony door open while we were out the next day, and the room cooled down nicely. The only other thing we wished the room had was a microwave. Overall, these were very minor issues compared to everything we loved about our stay. The location, views, comfortable rooms, and outstanding customer service made for a wonderful experience.

It was a very nice, spacious and clean room with alot of thoughtful attention like providing refillable water bottles, robes and an amazing Nespresso machine. There was also a wine bar and snacks available for purchase. The hotel had a wonderful scent throughout and we enjoyed walking through the ocean vibes staircase featuring a jellyfish. Definitely look for that! We loved having our anniversary dinner at The C Restaurant, but that will be another well earned review on it's own. However, we did have two negative experiences, one was that we waited a bit too long for our car at the valet once and there was an accidental spa charge on our receipt when checking out. I still gave them 5 stars because they rectified it right away and even removed the valet charge for us, which was much appreciated. Check-in was rough right from the start. There was a long line of people waiting, and while there were 4-5 employees at the counter, only 2-3 were actually helping guests at any given time, so the line just kept growing. Once I did get up to the counter, the staff member who assisted me was very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. The property itself is very poorly laid out. It feels like a maze of separate buildings that you have to constantly use your keycard to move between, and you even have to cross a public road to get to the pool, spa, and gym, which is not great, especially if you are just in a robe. I had a courtyard-facing room, which is also fully accessible to the public, so I did not feel super safe and while that likely explains the two security cameras directly facing our patio, it did not exactly create the most relaxing or welcoming environment. The gym is pretty expansive and has a good selection of weights and machines but the pool was such a disappointment as it is very small and feels more like a motel pool, partly because of the detached location but also because there is a parking lot and freeway directly behind it, so all I heard was constant honking while I was there. It is also unsupervised, and during my time there, there were way too many kids running around and constantly diving into the hot tub, which did not seem safe. Our hotel room was fine overall, but we did find numerous stains across various chairs, and the AC was incredibly loud whenever we had it on. The water pressure in the shower was very strong, which was great, but the sink and counter felt like they were at an oddly high height, which was fine for me as a taller person but would probably be inconvenient for someone shorter. The only saving grace of my stay was when we stopped by Peter B's to grab some drinks before dinner. The staff at the bar were super friendly and really pleasant to engage with, and we even ended up taking a crowler of one of their local brews home with us. Overall, while the location is excellent our overall stay was a pretty mediocre experience and certainly nowhere near worth the prices they are charging at over $500 for one night plus parking. This is absolutely not a 4-star hotel, but much closer to a 3 or even 2.5-star property.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a warm charm that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on. Nobody was around and they do run on sensors. Not a significant event but certainly was well timed. Overall, Hotel Del Monte struck the perfect balance between comfort, history, and a touch of playful spookiness. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monterrey that has access to a military installation--especially if you're looking for more than just a hotel, but a memorable experience.

Our room had an odd smell to it, and the amenities are pretty minimal. However, we expected this due to the age of the building. Our only negative was that we were given the first room next to the entrance and stairwell, which was not fun to hear folks stomping up and down the stairs and slamming the doors.
