Two star quality while charging 5 star prices. This is really just an over priced Holiday Inn. If you can get a reasonably priced room, it's fine, but if the rates are high, it will probably not live up to expectations. The "free" wifi doesn't work, but - what a surprise - the pay wifi does. We ordered room service. I had a simple club sandwich. Arby's or McDonalds is 10 times better at 1/10th the price. We had a bottle of water, a terrible dry club sandwich, and two TINY slices of pie and it was almost $60. I don't mind paying for quality, but I don't like being ripped off. Signed, Mad in Miami. read more

The staff here was really helpful and awesome. My boyfriend and I flew out there from California for the Ultra festival weekend and we had no idea what was around the area. The receptionist and the manager was very helpful and awesome by giving us cool places to attend and check out and that there was a block party near the area. Room service was amazing and the bar downstairs was really fun. The best part was that this hotel was right next to the festival (walking distance), so it was a plus. Definitely coming back again next year for Ultra 2017 and definitely staying at this hotel again. read more

Will never stay at this hotel again. I don't even know where to begin.... first let me start by saying just walking into the hotel and checking in out a sour taste in my mouth. The guy at the desk... I wish I got his name because I would have called and complained about him made me and my husband feel so uncomfortable by PRESSURING us to upgrade our room to water view for $25/night. After I politely said no thank you he decided to ask us another 5 times!!! At this point I was getting pissed. I said no!!! He then offered us a 10% off coupon for Starbucks if we upgraded. After saying NO for the 6th time He THEN looked at my Husband and said " ohh she's a tough one". No buddy I just wanted to Get to my room and not be harassed!!! It actually made me and my husband feel SOOO uncomfortable. Basically... Miami has a ton of hotels.... don't choose this one! Ohhh and their "valet" is $42 a night. And half the time when you call down for them To get your car they " forgot to get it" and you have to wait...... what's the point. Overall next time I'm in town I'm definitely not staying here. read more

I have stayed here twice in the past few months and it pains me to to give a bad review. I actually really love this hotel such a modern and exciting atmosphere, right in the heart of downtown, super convenient; clean spacious rooms and an impeccable bathroom! Sadly what is missing is the quality of customer service to match. Both occasions I was greeted by someone who either was unhappy to work there or just unhappy to serve me. I'm not sure if because I purchased it through Priceline explains why they treated me like a stray cat or if this is how they treat everyone but I'd certainly never want to pay what the normal rate is for that kind of service! No smile no good morning no feeling that I was welcomed here. Then I purchased a drink at their pool bar and again the waiter took my order no smile no welcoming gestures and then handed me a check for my drink before I was even halfway done with it! I hadn't asked for it nor did I consent to having it charged to my room! Rude, I will sadly never come back even though it's a beautiful hotel. I hope for your future patrons sake that you work to improve this issue! read more

The service this weekend here was 5 stars. You truely get what you pay for as the staff is quick, very understanding, and honestly care about helping you to the best of their ability. Our weekend trip would not have been complete without help from our Olé & Toro Toro manager Jesus Perez who toke care of us with his professional attitude and customer care, he deserves a raise! read more

My experience was an extremely UNPLEASANT one. We went for an anniversary dinner at their restaurant Toro Toro, all began very well, we valet parked, went inside we were seated right away. We ordered our drinks and then within 15 mins, our valet driver, head of security, and the manager on duty Guerda Cedant came to our table at the restaurant to inform us that THEIR valet driver has been involved in a head on accident with our vehicle!!! We immediately left the restaurant and went to the scene of the accident where the police was already there, our vehicle COMPLETELY totaled! Intercontinental's valet driver made an illegal U-turn and CRASHED head-on into another vehicle that was also at fault by going in the wrong direction. We were left to deal with the situation with the police and the valet driver who claimed to be the valet supervisor(very disappointing to know that the valet "supervisor" is making illegal u-turns and was at fault for the accident) NO MANAGER from the intercontinental WAS PRESENT during this ordeal, Guerda left us in the rain to deal with a situation that THEIR associate caused! 2 hours later in between waiting for a police report and tow truck since our car was completely destroyed. We went inside to wait for the tow truck where the only person to greet us was a very nice waiter at Toro Toro who apologized for the HORRIBLE situation, the rest of the hotel staff showed absolutely NO sympathy, NO compassion and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE in handing a situation that was caused by your associate in your facility! In fact there was no one there to assist us with the CHAOS that your valet driver caused. I then proceeded to look for Guerda Cedant, after waiting for her and addressing my concerns with the LACK of customer care and attention to us she stated "It's an accident, that's why it's called an accident and it could have happened to anyone, the police and your insurance will take care of everything." That statement was completely unnecessary and showed me the lack of professionalism and care that your staff displays to it's customers. This is not the care or rather LACK OF CARE I expected from a hotel such as the intercontinental. I trusted the intercontinental with my car and trusted them to have good anniversary dinner and now my car is totaled and not to mention my anniversary night was RUINED!! I have NO car at the moment and have to deal with the horrible hassles of filing police reports, dealing with insurance companies, contacting my lawyer and on top of it all I will be forced to miss work to address this HUGE predicament that YOUR hotel and staff caused me to be in. I expect to be contacted immediately. read more

This was a beautiful hotel, the room was really nice with the most amazing view of the harbor and the staff were very friendly. The only down size is that it is about a 25 minute drive to sobe but it is also in decent proximity of brickell and the design district which has nice restaurants and bars away from the craziness of south beach. read more

This hotel was clean and VERY modern. The location is a short walk or uber from Miami's best locations.

No outside bar. Not much around. Gym closes at 8. Someone had clearly smoked in my room, hotel covered it up with overpowering 'cheap perfume' air freshener. Smells like a stripper. read more

We stayed here for 1 night after our cruise to the Bahamas. I must say it is a very nice, comfortable place. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpfull. We got to check in early wich was great because we came straight from the cruise ship. Once we settled in we had a nock at our door, they sent up a delicious Birthday Cheese cake for me! Parking was $36 but the the Valet attendants were very fast and helpfull, I even forgot my cell phone in the car and they went and grabbed it for me. We had drinks and an appetizer at Toro Toro. The Blood Orange Mojito was the best I've ever had! So was the Cicharon Shrimp and Tres leches. Thanks to the amazing bartenders for suggesting these items! I will absolutly stay here again! Thank you! read more

Stayed 1 night pre-cruise the weekend of March 14th. This was my 3rd time staying at the Intercontinental Miami - it's become our "go to" hotel now anytime we sail out of Miami. This was a special trip so we decided to spend the extra money to book 1 parlor suite in addition to a Harbor View room. For the Parlor Suite alone, because of the time of year it was going to be $550 for this one night stay. I was assured before I made this reservation by chatting with an on line representative that the suite would be guaranteed a harbor view as well because ALL suites came with a harbor view - this is one the biggest selling point for us at the Intercontinental. Before my arrival to the hotel, I had received several phone calls from a family member who was told they could not locate the reservation - it was under my name but I had listed my family members. It was eventually resolved, however my family member felt the reception member helping her could have been a bit warmer. Upon my arrival, the reception desk had understandably a lot of guests checking in for it was Friday afternoon. Unlike my family member, I had a very pleasant exchange and transaction checking in and receiving my room key. I was assigned to the 31st floor and immediately discovered after entering that instead of the Harbor View I thought I was guaranteed I had a nice view of the Metro Mover and Ross'. I immediately headed back downstairs to rectify this situation. Upon being called to approach the desk I was going to be assisted by a different receptionist. I explained my dilemma and what I was told before I booked the reservation - I also explained that the on line rep made the booking for me. Unlike any other experience at this hotel, the receptionist helping me was very cold and made me feel like it was my fault. She stated that the on line rep who I chatted with works for Corporate, not for the Miami hotel so they would not know how the suites are laid out at this hotel. She quickly stated that I would be stuck with the room because they had no other suites available with the view. I pleaded with her to see if there was anything she could maneuver for us - it was 2pm so I was hoping this was possible. She clicked around more, asked for my patience while she tried to figure something out and then asked how many people would be staying in our room. After this, she departed to her back office and after another 5 minutes of waiting stated she did not want me to leave disappointed so gave me 3 drink cards to Toro Toro and 1 drink card to Starbucks - unfortunately, none of us in my party drink alcohol. Needless to say, I did not leave the desk with a room change nor did I get my harbor view I spent big bucks for a 1 night stay to have. I made her aware that I had already pre-paid a parlor suite for September and that I would cancel it had it not been pre-paid but now have no choice but to "hope" that in September I might land the view I thought I would have this past weekend. She assured me she would make a note on this booking, but again it's not guaranteed. So will this dissuade me from staying there again? No. A very expensive lesson learned. I still think this is a fabulous hotel, but next time we'll be sure to book Harbor View rooms instead of suites since this view cannot be guaranteed. Also, while disappointed by the reception service desk that both my family member & I received - it was as I said previously, a first and hopefully a one-off situation. Last note to add - after having dinner at Bayside, we returned to our suite to find a spread of cheese/fruit/meat and a bottle of Wine along with 3 bottles of water. Unsure if this is apart of the suite package or if it was because of our reservation mishap - it was a nice touch, regardless. read more

I just wanted to commend one bell man, Samuel Z, who was always very courteous, helpful and kind, as well as Joey the bartender who made us wonderful custom drinks and was so nice to us. They really made it such a wonderful stay for my fiancée and I! read more

We had a great stay here. The staff was all very helpful with our every need. The management team was fantastic and despite the hotel being packed for Art Basel, no one seemed to break a sweat. They were able to fully accommodate our group's needs for our meetings. I also loved the vibe they created in the lobby with the show being in town. Not to mention they have an outdoor Ice Rink at the hotel for the holidays! read more

We stayed here with our family. It's great location, awesome friendly staff. The hotel is so clean and it was a perfect stay.

My husband and I were booked at the Intercontinental Miami as part of a cruise itinerary. It proved to be a wonderful surprise. Brian checked us in and he began our warm welcome. Tired from the flights, we planned to eat in the hotel simply as a convenience. Toro toro turned out to be a special cocktail and dining experience. The restaurant staff were experienced and efficient. They made everyone welcome and seemed to answer the needs of the diverse clientele. We enjoyed our view of the harbor, our room and a walk through the neighboring park. I would definitely plan to stay at the Intercontinental the next time I visit Miami. read more

Second stay in past year and this has quickly become my favorite in Miami. The location is magnificent of course - and the options of restaurants nearby is superb. For business, maybe the best hotel - but I am here for Mother's Day while 7 year old is sleeping as I type. The views are exceptional. The staff is first class and the architecture inside and out is timeless - and a fantastic lobby area that has such a wonderful vibe. Great place to sit for an hour or two and catch up. The pool and fitness area are very good, and the hotel has apples in different places - a nice little touch besides the also complimentary bottled water - yes, just another example how they have nice touches everywhere you go. The bathroom is roomy, pillows divine, and well - or any number of wonderful views in any of the rooms. You can spend double to triple easily for auch lesser hotel on the beach with lesser food - or stay first class all the way and drive by the cruise ships and the Port and be at the beach in 20 minutes. For tourists or families, maybe the budget does not matter and the beach is all that matters. But for people who are in Miami for business or just love the mixture of being in the nicest part of the center of the city and near the beach, this is the place. read more

Stayed here on business, and enjoyed the location (on the water), and the food. Good value for the price.

I was really looking forward to this nice spa day with a long needed massage. I was prepared to spend most of the day there at their pool, gym and spa. I was impressed with their gym, really updated equipment and quite large with a great choice of machines. I couldn't believe their pool was that small, so a disappointment. The spa was quite nice and the staff was nice. The only thing is I really expected a great hot stone massage, :( I didn't get the type of massage I expected, most of the massage was not relaxing. I wanted her to work out all the kinks but it just didn't work. Probably won't be going back there but it's a nice spa. Just not for me. IMO. read more

I'm afraid my review is going to be mostly negative. The only positive I can think of is that we had a nice view of the bay. But they had ridiculous policies that made us feel ripped off on something new every day. First, they charged us $34 a day to park the rental car at the hotel. Then they charged $15 a day for internet, which is free in most any other hotel, including the Courtyard Marriott just down the street. If you want to use the gym more than once, it is an astounding $16 per visit!!!! When you want to be able to relax after a long plane ride and drive through Miami traffic, it isn't worth the stress to get to the hotel and have them treat you like they don't want you there. Oh, I almost forgot...the food is terribly lacking for what is supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel. And of course its overpriced. We had the club sandwich, which was stale and bland. The brownie with ice cream is not really a brownie, but tastes like a Latin American sweet that always tastes like they cut the amount of sugar in the recipe in half. The lobster bisque was pretty good, but everything else we tried was like you would get in a school lunchroom. read more

I too attended the United Way events at the hotel and had a blast. Our server was great! Totally ineteracted with us and enjoyed the fun of the event. I am going to guess that since we were cooking our own food the plastic on the carpet was to protect it from us since after several drinks/cocktails we did make kinda mess......We had no issues with the Valet either.....seems like I attended a different event to the other reviewer....? read more

This was my first business trip staying at this hotel. The amenities are very good. The service at the front desk was excelent. At the time I checked in employees from a convention where also checking in so you would imagine the mess of people. If it weren't for the professionalism and diligence at the front desk by an employee named Emelie I would have left. The location is excelwnt since you can walk to the AA arena and the Bayside. read more

I stayed here last weekend for the Spinning and Sports Conference. (This was the third of fourth time I've stayed here) I arrived early on Friday at around 6:30 am. I was advised that there were currently no rooms available but to check back soon. I checked back at 8:45 and to my surprise I was told by Claudia at the front desk that a room had just become available. Claudia also informed me that I was a Priority One Club Member and I could receive discounts at the hotel restaurant and Starbucks. Claudia was very patient, professional and courteous. I ate at the hotel restaurant (Indigo) a couple of times. The bar tenders were all attentive and friendly. I can't remember the names of all the bartenders (the two black male bartenders and Natalia were all very good) On Sunday after checking out I had to have the hotel hold my bags. There I met Ingrid Romano working at the luggage desk. Ingrid was also professional and courteous and made sure I had everything that I needed during my stay. You could tell that she enjoyed her job and really wanted to make sure that the customer had a pleasant stay. My only negative are the showers. The water pressure is very low.... Overall my stay at the Intercontinental was very pleasant. read more

Beautiful hotel, amazing location and the best staff in any hotel I've visited. The bar manager was great and the front desk staff were exceptional. Most notable was Ingrid at the front desk. My wife and I stayed at the InterContinental due to a large business conference being hosted there by my company. The location is central to all things in Miami. The staff worked to attend to any and all needs to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The accommodations where absolutely splendid. The conference facilities and capabilities were of the highest quality. We ended up staying an extra night after my business conference. The Spa facilities were gorgeous and the staff were well qualified and trained. I was extremely impressed by all aspects of this property and give only the highest accolades as my expectations were exceeded in every sense of the word. read more

The hotel itself was nice. Well-appointed rooms and nice facilities (although the spa/gym was oddly dark, with no water available to drink after you work out -- not even a drinking fountain). I was there for a conference and it was a nice place for such an event. Indeed, the food at the conference was above-par, which is an accomplishment for an event with 900+ in attendance. Unfortunately, food at ToroToro, the restaurant / bar in the lobby, was expensive and sub-par. I'd say avoid it, but you don't have many choices in downtown Miami. If not this hotel restaurant, then some other hotel restaurant. And that is really what drives my 3-star rating. There's not a lot to see or do in downtown Miami -- it seems to be one of those downtowns that shuts down after 5 pm. If I were visiting Miami as a tourist, I'd look elsewhere for a place to stay. read more

I was forced to use this hotel for a Business event. The entire billing process was horrible. I sent in all of the information for my employees well ahead of time, when they arrived nothing was ready. Mass confusion at check in.
