The hotel itself is nice, but we found the staff to be generally unfriendly and unhelpful with the occasional exception. The valets would frequently stand around allowing congestion to build up and weren't very friendly, the bar staff at the pool were cold and a little terse, and it generally just didn't have a welcoming feel. The room and lobby were all nice and modern and we were happy with the accommodations. read more

*** Update- Marlene, the day manager, promptly followed up the morning after my less than desirable room service experience. She quickly and professionally rectified my expressed concerns. This was greatly appreciated as no one is perfect, but there are those who strive to do better, and this is evident here in the staff's responsiveness to guest needs and concerns. Thank you. **** PROs- BRUNCH at Torro Torro, friendly staff and comfortable bed. The pros of the hotel are that the staff are friendly and helpful (ie bell men, front desk, banquet staff, valet, manager etc). Sunday brunch is delicious! Definitely the culinary highlight, so much so that I would return any time I am in the area on a Sunday. Bed and pillows are comfortable and allergen free is available, which is sooooooo appreciated! Cons-room service, pool is in the shade/no sun anytime after 11am, and weak wifi The tapas and pizza at the pool are quite good. If it's before 6pm and you want a quick-casual bite, I would suggest going there and steer clear of room service; unless you are in the mood for something fried (ie fries or wings), as other items are sub par. If after pool/Blue Cafe hours- I suggest grub hub, and for the same price and comparable wait time, you can have dinner from any number of restaurants that are of higher quality. read more

Very comfortable hotel and great staff. Thought the parking was a bit pricy but I guess that's to be expected for the location.

I stayed in the hotel while in town for the Miami Marathon. I booked about four months before the marathon and I would be in a group of three, and initially had some trouble with my requests for a room with 2 beds and a request to utilize a shower somewhere at the hotel (perhaps at the pool, gym, or spa) in the event I didn't finish the run until after checkout time. After initially having frustration with that, and then complaining, I was accommodated with a room with 2 beds and access to a shower after the race (which i didn't end up needing, because I finished before check out so i just showered in my room, but it was still nice to know I could've still showered before getting on an airplane). We also were given a few free drinks for our troubles. (Thanks to the manager Arminio!) Although I am a bit perturbed that it required me to complain publicly to get them to do anything, I am very pleased with how it ended up. Our room was ocean side and had a pretty good view. All the people at the front desk were very friendly and nice. The room was nice and modern looking, and the lobby was great. You can't beat the location of this hotel either. We used the MetroMover to go out to a restaurant, and the Bayside Marketplace is close by. For the marathon, this might be the best hotel location, maybe aside from the Holiday Inn, for runners! It's only bad if you need to move your car, because the streets are all closed off for the race. I would definitely return to this hotel again for the marathon, provided I am allowed to use the shower again! (I guess I'm just paranoid about that because you never know if something might happen during the race that precludes you from making it back in time, and I don't like to rush and injure myself just to try to get back to my room to take a shower.) read more

This hotel is beautiful! You have amazing views of the bay and is at night you are able to see the lights glistening on the ocean. This hotel is centrally located and is walking distance from restaurants and bars. Heck! There's even a great bar in their lobby. It was renovated in the last few years that I have been here. Staff is so helpful whether you are entering the front door, room service, and the club level. I have stayed in both the standard rooms and a junior suite. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Miami area. read more

Thank you for your great service and personal attention from one of the best customer service reps we met named Kacedrine! As busy as this weekend was, she went beyond and above to accommodate our group and our 2 rooms. We could not have been more lucky to be served by a better representative from your team. read more

First time staying at the Intercontinental Miami. Service has been great, the beds are super-comfortable and the view from my room is amazing! When I checked in I was greeted by Kacedrine, a very professional and nice young lady. She talked me through the hotel layout, amenities and dining options. When she was done, I had no questions b/c she was so thorough! Thanks for the great hospitality! read more

I will say a really good way to save 20% on booking your stay early is by calling the IHG special reservations hotline at 888-338-1019 and booking your stay I did. Was not able to get it at the front desk. The service at the InterContinental Miami was superb and beyond my wildest expectations. A paragon of a hotel as I saw nothing but perfection in every aspect during my entire stay. I would certainly considering returning again and again and recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Loved this hotel! Of course, being there a few days we were naturally at the lobby bar a lot. Had great experiences with every single bartender here, but Joy and Max especially stood out. Extremely friendly and helpful. read more

Had such an amazing steak here! Although this place is quite up there and pricy, even for miami, my dad still sings about the steak he had there a year ago. Since then I've been back for cocktails and bites and I am never disappointed. It is always on point with service, and the ambience is to die for. I feel like a princess every time I come here and would recommend it to anyone who's looking to have a great dinner or just drinks before a night out. read more

When you walk into this hotel it feels very clubby. I'm not sure if that is a weekend thing or everyday. I was there on a Friday night. Staff is super friendly. Lobby looks amazing! The rooms are clean and nice. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Miami. It's also very close to the cruise port. There's a cool shopping/restaurant area about 7 mins walking distance. read more

I stayed at the InterContinental while in Miami. It is located very close to the port for cruise ships, and it seemed that many of the patrons were there either before or after a cruise. The food choices were really not spectacular and they seemed to be extremely over priced (close to $80 for the breakfast buffet!). The conference areas were really terrific and it seems like an ideal space to host a large group of people. The rooms were average, it seems to be showing its age. It wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked, but I'm germ phobic and keep my home like a sterile environment, just to keep it in context. There is a Starbucks in the hotel, which seemed fairly decent, although the line was down the hall by mid-morning. The pool was fairly small but it wasn't very crowded and it seemed to be well maintained without being over-chlorinated. I would definitely stay here again. You can walk or bicycle to Brickell and it seems that Uber is readily available. It felt fairly safe, even at night. Overall, people were very friendly. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. When we arrived it was clearly apparent that someone had smoked about 3 packs of cigarettes in our room. No big deal.....I'll just call down and ask to change rooms. I call down and some random dude comes up and without asking me anything starts spraying a fragrance all over. I'm like, "What are you doing, I don't want you to spray air freshner to try and cover it up, I want to change rooms." He gets all put out and leaves.....the manager comes up and apologizes. He also says he will switch us as soon as possible.....doesn't happen. Later that night our key stops working (this happens on multiple occasions). Finally, by 3 am we are let into our room. Again, these ********* act like it is our fault that their entry system is terrible. Next day we remove a couple cokes from the mini-bar to take with us when we go walk around. Housekeeping comes and TAKES the unopened cokes. When we go and talk to the concierge he says, "We can take anything we want". The last and best part is I leave my camera in the room. I call the next day and get one of the nicer concierges, he tells me, "Yes, we found a camera similar to that. I just have to confirm and call you back". He never calls, so I call back; another concierge answers and says, "No, we haven't found any cameras..." I'm like, "Uh, yes you have". Clearly, the camera was taken by the staff. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Only good part of the hotel is the bar....which is well stocked and the bartenders are very nice. read more

What else can I say about a hotel that charges a minimum of $190 per night and doesn't even provide more than 1 cup of free coffee in the room? Very poor value here, everything cost extra, and the staff all have attitudes as if you work for them. read more

Very nice hotel. The lobby pulses with energy and lights, while still allowing plenty of space for lounging and conversations. Rooms are very clean and modern with nice features, e.g., controlling the blinds via buttons at the nightstand. The Toro Toro bar is convenient for a drink or meal, though I found my lunch assortment plate to be a bit bland. In addition to the stadium and the rest of downtown Miami, there's also a mall not too far away with restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe, and shops. A very enjoyable stay. read more

Outstanding customer service. Well deserving of a 4+ STAR rating. We stayed for a few nights in May during our honeymoon. Overall, the customer service was exceptional. I contacted ILANA, the concierge, prior to our arrival. She upgraded our room to a breathtaking Biscane Bay view. Additionally, a gift was waiting in our room!!!! She also provided us with VIP passes to a hot club in SB. The check in process was delightful, the valets were courteous and the front desk agents were very pleasant and extremely responsive. CLAUDIA at the front desk went out of her way to make out stay memorable. Merci beaucoup. The hotel lobby is impressive and the rooms are very well appointed. The hotel is in an ideal location, walking distance to the Bayside Marketplace and convenient to all of Miami. Next time in South Florida we will definately stay at the InterContinental Miami. read more

Awesome hotel! Large luxurious rooms, and great service. I want to point out three very special employees who went out of their way to make me feel right at home and made my stay a pleasurable one. Lili at the front desk who checked me in was so friendly and made me feel welcome right away and that left a wonderful impression. She was kind, caring and courteous and made sure everything was taken care of. Flavia was equally fabulous - she helped me with questions I had on the bill, made sure I was taken care of with some other questions I had, ensured my checkout was as wonderful as the check in. Flavia was warm and friendly and took it upon herself to ensure I would return only to this hotel when i visit Miami next... which i will, of course. Sean at the bar ToroToro is an awesome guy. He was very informative about questions I had about Miami, was gregarious and spent time to make sure my visit to the bar (and the hotel and Miami) was memorable. And he made wonderful drinks! Great guy! All in all, my stay at this hotel was a wonderful one.... and these three special people need a special mention for their hospitality and making guests feel at home. read more

My husband and I had received a gift certificate for this hotel , we used it for our 2 year anniversary . We had a two night stay which was nice. My first thought of this hotel was great location, and the entrance was nice. When we pulled up they charge $36 dollars a night for valet parking and $2 an hour for self parking , so we chose valet since it was only two nights. To make the story short their are very expensive and charge for EVERYTHINGggg. The room was average , also their we're stains on the sheets when we got here and holes in the pillow cases, I was very disappointed. They also charge for Internet which is crazy , they also charge $20 to watch certain movies which is ridiculous . I was expecting much more for a hotel in such a prime location. This was my experience and I will not be coming back to this hotel. read more

Came in late on the 19th for a stay before cruising the next day. From getting out of the taxi to checking in was quick and attentive. Was assigned a bay view room and it was fairly large and clean. All the small touches were there. Nice area for smokers ( which is nice as we as a group tend to be frowned on). The cost of the room was reasonable and got more than expected. Thank you for a nice stay and a great start to vacation. read more

Got locked out of my room because my wallet was with someone across town. They wanted me to file a police report to get back in my room and wouldn't accept a picture of my passport, my knowledge of everything including the reservation and details about where every single item in the room was. They made me sleep on the couch in the lobby for 4 hours instead of making a decision. Shower was also disgusting, cold, and horrible water pressure Floors were stained and dirty AC buttons wouldn't work so it would get stuck and then either be way too hot or way too cold. The locker rooms were never open Not the absolute worst place but try to find somewhere else if you can read more

I wish I could leave an actual review for this property, as I was unable to enjoy it due to their inhospitable spa director, Caroline Wilmot. My husband and I (who met working at the InterContinental Boston!) received a $350 spa gift certificate for Christmas. It was for the IC Boston, but we were traveling to FL and figured it would be wonderful to enjoy a massage on vacation. My husband contacted Caroline and asked about redeeming our gift certificate. They spoke on the phone and emailed. She stated that in order for them to approve using the gift card, WE would have to get an email from the IC Boston controller to the IC Miami controller confirming that they could transfer the gift certificate funds. I was blown away by this request. Being a luxury property, Caroline should have happily reached out to the Boston property herself. I've spent my entire professional career in hospitality and would never ask a guest to take care of an internal issue. My husband and I really did want to enjoy the spa, so we obliged with Caroline's ridiculous request, and had the wonderful employees of the IC Boston assist us. The controller in Boston did exactly as requested and emailed the Miami controller agreeing to transfer funds. While on vacation in FL we had yet to hear from Caroline confirming everything was set, so my husband reached out to her again. He was totally ignored. So sadly, we couldn't use our gift card or check out the property in Miami. I'd recommend finding yourself a new spa director. After having my husband and the employees in Boston jump through hoops to accommodate Caroline's ridiculous request, we were left with nothing. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would NEVER recommend this property. read more

I don't know why they suddenly think it's a good idea to blast salsa music on Fridays. The noise level is deafening. I was to speak at a business conference that was being hosted by the InterContinental in the last week of June. I would stay for 3 nights on the company's dime and then spend 3 more nights as vacation with my wife. We had a very nice king room with a downtown view that was choice. All good. So off I go to the conference while my wife patronizes the spa at the hotel. That's where things got ugly. My wife took in a massage with a male masseuse who seemed to forget how to provide service without violating a woman's privacy. Little things like lifting her leg so high he could get a free view of the goods. Things like that. Once I heard, I summoned the hotel director down to the desk and inform him that we have a complaint and that I am 100% serious about him doing something about it. So the spa director and a security officer come to our room and instead of them taking the report, they ask US to write the report. After a few weeks, I contacted the hotel director and asked for follow-up to our written complaint. I received the rote response that the employee was coached, some policies were updated, and that he again apologizes for what happened. The kicker is that he offered to personally check us in with VIP treatment and upgrades "the next time we visit them". Uh...probably not going to happen. This is bush league operations for what is supposed to be a 4/5 start hotel. I do not recommend it. Matt- read more

We really enjoyed this hotel Large spacious modern and a conference centre attached to it. When we were there it was very busy with the hustle and bustle of guests coming and going, events, bsiness meetings, weddings etc. Front desk staff - amazing, efficient, friendly and smiles.......BRAVO to the front desk check in staff Valet parking - while checking out we were each given a cold refreshing bottle of spring water for the road - BRAVO valet parking team - nice touch Parking if you don't mind the charge go Valet - beats circling around trying to find a spot and budgeting on your vacation trying to save dollars...we found valet more convenient Accommodation Showers to die for ----- double headed showers BLISS. Modern rooms, clean and bedding is comfortable. Bed is good - not the greatest - not the worst - certainly adequate. Room service: We asked for 2 waters with our meal and got 1 - they only gave 1 plate - difficult when splitting munchies with your spouse, however we pointed it out and it was quickly rectified (an extra plate and water was delivered promptly) Toro Toro Didn't try it but seemed very busy - and has discounted tapa's which probably accounts for the busy Toro Toro Pool Bar: Looks beautiful but didn't try it - seen it from my window - was not busy at all, looked very clean and absolutely a place to hang out if you are there to relax I enjoyed this hotel and when in Miami will stay here again - no second thought on that. My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel in celebration of our 5th wedding anniversary! Valet parking staff are very prompt, front desk attendants are very professional and in general all staff members would greet you and were friendly! The room was spacious, nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable, it had a sofa, a desk, in-room bar fridge, wi-fi , a large bathroom with tub and shower and they offered turndown service. We booked our room with access to the private lounge. I highly recommend you do this! It included a free continental breakfast, access to computers, beautiful view and a wonderful happy hour filled with drinks and nice hors d'oeuvre. Special thanks to Hector and Aristides who work in the private lounge. They made sure our glasses were always filled up!!! The Spa and pool are located on the top floor. You walk in through the spa (which has a lovely scent!) to walk out to the pool. The pool area has an amazing and relaxing view. There is a nice bar and small restaurant to order food. You can also walk around to enjoy the beautiful view and take pictures. There is an area with lounge chairs to just simply relax or meditate while in-taking the beautiful surroundings! The hotel's location is very convenient! It is within walking distance to Bayside (a shopping and restaurant center), The Miami Arena, the Freedom Tower, Brickell and downtown areas, the metromover, a park and the SeaFair yacht is docked right outside! It is also only about a 10 minute ride or less to South Beach, Wynwood, Key Biscayne, Miami Int. airport and the Marlin's stadium. However, my favorite part of our stay at the Intercontinental Miami was meeting their Chef Concierge Eduardo! I can do an entire review just on him! Here are some of the wonderful and thoughtful things Eduardo did for us: Knowing that we were there celebrating our anniversary he surprised us by sending us a nice bottle of champagne to our room! We wanted to stay nearby for dinner and he recommended the hotel's restaurant Toro Toro. He made our reservation and to our surprise when we got there we were greeted with champagne glasses by the manager and at the end our dessert had written in it: "Happy Anniversary!" The food and service at Toro Toro was amazing! Eduardo topped off our night by getting us access to the hard to get in nightclubs "Liv" and "Story". Thanks to calls that Eduardo made we were able to go in with no problem. Eduardo is very well connected, knows everyone and mostly he knows how to take care of his guests! A huge thanks to Eduardo who from the moment we got there until we left he made wonderful personal recommendations and made sure we had a very memorable time! read more

Okay... Let me first start off by letting you know that I am currently at the airport on my way back home from staying at this hotel. I was sooo anxious to make a review...that I couldn't wait until I was back home. It is also important to know that I have been to Miami a dozen times... South beach and Miami beach... However this was my first time staying downtown Miami. And KNOW that I t won't be my last. The location is actually decent... Walking distance to cvs, Walgreens, marshals, Wagmans, liquor stores, etc... So if u were looking for something quick to pick up... Options were available. But if u were looking for a quick and cheap burger or slice of pizza... There is no where to get something like that. Well at least that we didn't see. The hotel is AMAZINGBALLS! I mean absolutely beautiful... The other reviewers honestly just wanted to find something negative to say about it... But complaining about a possible 5 minute wait at the front desk or less than 2 minutes elevator availability... I think u are splitting hairs. The restaurant ToraTora... Was so darn good!!! We ate there 3 times during our entire stay. Yea the prices are a little... But u pay for quality food. As we checked in... I informed the front desk that we were there celebrating my birthday. She said she was going to send me a treat to my room. When we returned to the room an hour later... We had a bottle of wine, fruit, and 2 wine glasses! So thoughtful and greatly appreciated! The room was a generous size. Very clean... Nicely decorated...comfy beds...great channel selection for the Tv.. Including ESPN and A&E, USA... (Me and the hubs go to stations). Housekeeping came all 3 days... Hallways were quiet so a peaceful sleep was guaranteed. The gym !!! Omg !! The gym and the freaking Sauna and steam room were the best I have been in any hotel!!! Very clean and gorgeous! The pool was nice... Nothing to extravagant ... But nice! The pool bar was really a treat... Tasty beverages with a great scenery. All together, if I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! Will definitely be back again!! read more

Room over the water. Daniel at Hotel front desk was fantastic! Will come again! Access to club lounge on 29th floor. Love this place!

Stayed here for a night last year. It's hard to get 5 stars from me, but these guys succeeded. From the time we valeted the car, to the time we checked out, everything was perfect. We had a nice high room overlooking the pool and ocean, was so nice to sit there and watch as a thunderstorm was out at sea and you could see the lighting. As it is with Florida, a rain storm can come through at any moment and it did while we were at the pool. The bar staff poolside was amazing as we sat there and waiters for the sun to come back out. The bar staff at the bar just off the lobby was great and put up with my demands to change the channel to a certain sporting event. One of the best hotels ever stayed at. read more
