But I'm a teacher, I need to get to school to work, and public transit is not a viable option for the schools where I teach. I almost never reach out to my family if I have problems, but this time I did (I had no idea what to do). And, miracle of miracles, our family had a car available that my father had convinced one of my step siblings not to trade in. With proper care, this car will (easily) last another 15 years. So now we had to coordinate moving this miracle car from NJ to MN. My father did the original rounds of research, saying the price would be about $1k and might take a couple months to get here. Months?! Every day the car wasn't here was another day I couldn't work. I like paying my bills and eating food sometimes. I contacted the U.S. Consumer Auto Transport Authority to see if I could do better than "months", and they referred me to MoveAuto. MoveAuto was a couple hundred more than the basement priced companies (which were quoting about $1k), but here's the difference - instead of being a broker like the cheap guys, trying for weeks to recruit a driver to transport your car at insanely low rates, MoveAuto has their own drivers. This means you don't have to guess too much when it comes to when the car will get to you. I got a hold of them Friday, and they picked up the car from my dad at 8 a.m. Monday morning. The car was with me by Wednesday, with no damage at all. I have to add that my father is a very strong-willed and occasionally truculent older fellow, and MoveAuto did a great job at telling him what he had to do before shipping while treating him with respect. I am so grateful to MoveAuto for removing the stress from a very stressful situation. I've had my car for almost a month now, and every day I am grateful to have it. Thank you for doing what you do.

I needed to transport my vehicle from Pennsylvania to California and after reading many reviews…read morefrom different companies I had very low expectations and was expecting the worst from any transport service. Keep in mind I had low expectations and I was expecting to get ripped off. I took a chance with Montway. I booked online. Probably via an AI bot. I made a deposit and purchased insurance because why not if I'm going to get ripped off. Day before pickup - the transporter calls me and gives me the address of the pickup location. I had to drive 30 minutes into an open area. Makes sense since there's no way for a large 18-wheeler to park in an inner city. Day of pickup - Jason from LA was very chill. Examined my vehicle and I signed it away. Saw it load onto the truck. This was either the last time I was going to see my vehicle...or so I thought. I placed an AirTag in the car somewhere just in case. I checked it daily. Jason from LA is a beast. He drove across the US in 3 days. Wow. Amazing. He gets it done. I get a call the day before pickup. He said he will be at my residence at 7am. 7am - on the dot this man calls me. He's out front with my vehicle. I inspect, I sign, I pay the remainder, he gives me my keys. No frills. Efficient. My experience is clearly different than most others. So based on my experience I would recommend. 10/10.

** MONTWAY AUTO TRANSPORT = TOTAL SCAM & ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY **…read more Do NOT use Montway Auto Transport. These clowns are nothing but useless middlemen who will happily take your money and then wash their hands when your expensive car gets destroyed. I trusted Montway to transport my Porsche. They brokered the job to **Discovery Transportation Logistics** and completely disappeared once things went wrong. The car arrived looking like it had been through a war zone: - Deep scratches all over the paint - Battery completely dead - Broken battery cover - Missing undercarriage parts - Banged up exhaust - Hit and dented bumper It was an absolute disaster. My beautiful Porsche was damaged on their watch, and Montway's response? "Sorry, we're just the broker. Go deal with the carrier yourself." No help. No accountability. No responsibility. They took my money, handed my car off to some reckless transporter, and then ran for the hills when damages appeared. Classic broker bullshit -- they collect the fee but take zero ownership of the service they sold. This company has zero integrity. They'll smile on the phone, promise everything will be fine, and then ghost you or point fingers the second your vehicle shows up damaged. **Strong warning:** If you value your car, especially a Porsche or any high-end vehicle, stay far away from Montway Auto Transport. They are not a real transport company -- they're just a middleman that refuses to stand behind their work. I'll be fighting this tooth and nail with insurance, complaints, and every review site possible. **Montway Auto Transport = Dishonest Brokers.** **Zero stars. Never again. Save yourself the headache and potential thousands in repairs.** These people should not be in business.

Just completed two shipments with Mark and his team. And they are AMAZING!…read more We have a full 2B2B of stuff moved from San Francisco Bay Area to New York in May 2025. My friend recommended Trico and I decided to go with them due to: 1. The very reasonable and affordable price; 2. The smooth communication with Mark and how considerate he is in helping us finding the best solution tailored for us. My move is a bit complicated due to a lot of uncertainties in my schedule, my move-in place and payment methods. Mark is always there to help and accommodate my various requests. The whole moving process is efficient and handled well. Our 108+ pieces of boxes arrived at New York safely and well kept. This nice process has prompted us to do another business with Mark later in May to ship our vehicle from the Bay Area to New York. Again we get a reasonable price quote and fast service. They even allow us to put stuff in trunk which helps us a lot! The only hiccup is when the driver was to pick up our car, the driver seemed to not knowing about the trunk luggage policy. It was at about 7pm PT and we got connected with Trico's after-hour service team immediately. And then things are solved! I am very happy I find Mark and his team and would definitely like to do business with them again in future!

DO NOT USE...EVER! DO NOT TRUST! SCAM! CANCELLED CREDIT CARD!…read more See attached pictures to read their Terms & Conditions & see my text messages with them. I cancelled my credit card due to my extreme lack of trust in the company and their unethical business practices. I needed to guarantee they couldn't charge me anymore money without my explicit approval. I experienced the same problems as so many other reviewers here. And with the latest negative review posted just yesterday (3/24), it's obvious they haven't changed. And because it's a scam, they never will! Last year, I called Smart Carship (SCS) about shipping a car I just purchased. And I asked the representative specific questions based on reviews I read on Trustpilot that mentioned bait and switch and unexpected price increases. One of the questions I asked was if the $225 quote was guaranteed not to change by the time of pick up since it was only in a few days. I was reassured multiple times it would not. So I also asked if they owned the trucks and employed the drivers to confirm that their quote was based on factors they could control such as the scheduling, drivers' available and other logistics, and made sure I was very clear with the pick up and delivery days, times and locations. Again, he assured me the price would not change and confirmed the details. I reviewed the quote and read the Terms & Conditions on the last page. Everything SEEMED straight-forward and fair, so I signed it and paid the deposit. And then on the day of pick-up, SCS informed me it was now going to cost $475 because they couldn't find a driver that would do it for the original quote for $225. [Then how the heck are they able to provide a "guaranteed" quote in the first place?!?!] So I tried to cancel, but they said they would charge a $200 cancellation fee. So rather than fall for the trap and cancel, I postponed / rescheduled the transport, advised the seller not to release the car (in case a transport driver tried to come and pick it up and leave me stuck paying whatever SCS wanted me to pay), cancelled my credit card and told them I would no longer communicate with them by phone because they don't keep their word. I told them everything had to be in writing going forward by text or email. [Note: they're very slick with how their terms and conditions (T & Cs) are written.] Upon 1st glance, they look straight forward, but later I learned they worded them vaguely enough and in a way that actually protected them. For instance, when I called my credit card to dispute the charge, they said they had to abide by the company's cancellation fee, so they couldn't give me a refund. In addition, when there were issues with the price and date/time of transport, they actually encourage you to speak to other transporters. But guess what? They have a clause in their T & Cs, that says they can charge you for speaking to another transport company. "During the selected shipping option period, the client agrees not to engage the services of any other broker or carrier. If the client is found to be working with another broker or carrier during this time, a non-refundable deposit fee may be charged." I later find out they're only a broker - not an actual transport company - so their pricing is based on the availability of independent drivers who own and operate their own trucks. So they are never in a position to guarantee a price because it can change based on the driver's availability. Also, as a common rule of thumb, you should never pay a deposit until your vehicle is actually on the schedule to be picked up and dropped off. But I made the mistake of paying my $50 deposit before it was scheduled and even paid $75 upon request because they tricked me into trusting them. In the end, I stopped corresponding with them by phone - only by text and email because I wanted everything in writing. They use their T & Cs as scare tactics to trick you into paying as much as possible. And it's only when you call them out and make it very clear you're going to dispute all of the charges and give them a hard time, they'll drop the price in the hopes that it gets low enough that you'll give in, pay it and just cut your losses. You're unlikely to have your vehicle transported unless you give in and pay the increased price. For me, I kept fighting and insisting they refund may full $75 deposit because of all the false promises. And I made them explicitly state in the text that I'll only accept any kind of refund if they agree not to charge me a cancellation fee. Eventually, they refunded me $40 and said they have to keep $35 for admin fees. At the end of the day, they'll say whatever they want to get you to sign paperwork, lie about what they said, and just fall on the Terms & Conditions you signed to get you to pay however much they can get from you.

I provided exact addresses and an open time window for a car delivery - they gave me a HARD PRICE, in writing, which we agreed upon. I gave a deposit. On the day before delivery, they send driver contact and a payment link for literally 3x what was agreed upon. When I tried to decline, they said I was not able to cancel and my deposit would not be refunded. They then said they were charging me an extra $200 for late cancellation (but they never gave me the info until they day before). Absolute SCAM!! Once the agreement was signed, had a hard time getting a hold of my contact Matthew by phone or text. Vehicle move went ok, some issues with pick up date based on what our agreement had scheduled. The issue was the apartment move. When the movers showed up to pack up furniture I tried to get a hold of Matthew stating that they were just wrapping a moving blanket around all the furniture. I was instructed by LDM that they would shrink wrap anything that had drawers which was most of the furniture and that did not happen. I could not get a hold of Matthew my direct contact, very disappointed in this. Received the delivery in Chicago about 3 weeks after pick up. All of the furniture had some sort of damage to it. We had 15 heavy duty boxes packed and all but one box was broken somehow, like they were just thrown around. Day of delivery some of the furniture was already unpacked from the moving blankets, that was not expected. I never got an update on insurance information prior to our move on 10/30/24 until I received an email today 12/11/24 with all the information for insurance. Had I had this information ahead of time, I probably would have chose a different option to protect our belongings. Disappointed in the lack of customer care and contact once I signed on the dotted line to secure the move.
