I had finished grocery shopping across the street and needed a perk me up. I wanted to check out Intentional Coffee for the first time. This quaint little coffee shop is located in a sketchy plaza on the corner of Brookhurst/Orangethorpe. The interior is bright and open. There are outdoor patio seating and benches out front to enjoy your drink. The menu is straightforward with a few coffee and tea options. I already knew I wanted to try the Dirty Chai with Almond Milk. This is one of my faves but their version was underwhelming. I don't taste any espresso or tea notes. It was drowning in tons of cinnamon which is different than what I've had before. The drink and service were both average. I probably won't be returning. read more

Came in around 10 am on a Thursday and was warmly greeted by the staff member! The inside is a little small but the tables are still well spaced out. They even have a cute outside patio type of area with plants and tables as well. I ordered a ham and Swiss croissant and a matcha latte. Love this place!!! It's seriously ~vibes~ in the BEST way possible. The baristas are so friendly and kind. They always have great recommendations for you to try! I saw this cute lil spot on yelp when I looked up "matcha" and just the look and font and and layout of the place caught my eye so I knew I had to try it out. I started getting into matcha recently to deter from coffee so I'm far from being a matcha connoisseur, but I know which tastes I prefer! Easy to acquire parking as it is in a plaza with other restaurants/businesses and it's right on the corner of this plaza so you can see it from the street. There was such a cute welcoming exterior with green "grassy" hearts and handprints on the wall as well as benches and tables. Upon walking in, I saw through the glass windows that they even have a little back area that was pretty much a garden with tables and seating. Perfect place to pull out your laptop or books or whatever to get some work done in a nice peaceful environment (if you don't mind the street being RIGHT there though). The two baristas behind the counter were nice and welcoming and did not rush me when I took a while to look at the menu. They have a variety of drinks to choose from including coffee, lattes, milk teas, loose leaf teas, and matcha. I saw "Matcha Vanilla/honey/agave" and asked if I could do vanilla and agave if that was possible and the guy said no problem while the girl said that that sounded really good haha. I ordered a large and I also opted for almond milk for an additional $0.80. Overall the drink was pretty pricey especially with the added tip. I spent a little over $10. The size looked just about a "venti" from starbs. I noticed she started preparing it traditionally or ceremonially (however you describe it) which I do appreciate, but matcha is matcha I guess even if starbucks just directly mixes the powder with milk lol. The quality of the matcha tasted great and amazingly, it did NOT taste super sweet as I thought it would especially adding vanilla and agave so that just proves (I think?) that their matcha doesn't include a ton of sugar unlike other places. It was a very mild taste and super smooth and I absolutely loved it! That rich green matcha color was also to die foooor. Seemed like a true matcha latte drink (as if I know what that means lol). I've been enjoying the diff matcha lattes from diff places and seeing how everyone makes theirs and I definitely do want to come back here next time I've got a break in between my classes. I dropped by this coffee shop about a week or two ago. The coffee was great I ordered just a flat white and a breakfast croissant sandwich. The sandwich was not the best, sorry I saw them microwave the egg. That was already a no for me, still ate it but a microwaved egg never tastes good. The service was good however, and the place was also packed so must be a popular place. I would recommend it for coffee, but the reason for the 4stars is the egg I had an issue with otherwise it was a good place. read more

Be warned that the noise from the intersection can be distracting to some, while I personally like some background noise. I've driven by this coffee shop for so long and finally had some down time in while in the neighborhood, and decided to check this place out. The plaza itself isn't in the greatest condition (which is probably why I never went inside before), but once you set foot inside, the shop gives a feeling of warmth and the baristas makes pretty delicious lattes. So far I've had the Spanish Latte, Madagascar Vanilla Latte and Lavender Latte - and have enjoyed all of them. I usually ask for less sweet - and the baristas seem flexible with modifications. I would say this place is more suited for people wanting to just enjoy their coffee on their own or with a small group of friends. While they do advertise free wifi, their wifi isn't that strong or consistent so I probably would not try doing any work that requires a strong/consistent internet connection. Can't speak to their foods - but I have gotten a blueberry muffin and it was good. read more

As a customer, I appreciate when my time is being valued and my business being appreciated. Well, your barista and the young man working at the register did just that. By the time my transaction was done at the register, my delicious lavendar latte was ready and the nice barista handed to me. Trust me, I have been to MANY coffee shops and at many of them I get good customer service but your emoloyees raised the customer service to another level. I just stopped by Intentional coffee for the first time after having it bookmarked it a while ago. I would have stopped by sooner, but it's a little out of the way. I ordered online for pick up and the coffee was ready for me at the indicated time. The shop is so inviting and several groups were having a lovely time chatting and enjoying their coffee and baked goods. There is plenty of seating and the decor is beautiful. Okay, onto the coffee. Needing a caffeine boost one afternoon, I stopped here for some coffee and a pastry. The interior has many tables crammed together and almost all were filled with students. There are also a couple of outdoor tables. The decor is hip and nicely-styled like many Korean-owned coffee or tea shops. I ordered a vanilla latte and, after gazing at the many options in the pastry case, asked for a cinnamon roll...although I was quickly corrected that it was a "cinnamon bun". I sat at a small table near the restrooms and my latte and bun were brought to me within a few minutes. The pastry was quite delicious with a sweet frosting atop a fresh roll (I mean bun) which had a distinct but not overly strong cinnamon flavor. The vanilla latte used Stereoscope coffee and was an above average experience; smooth and flavorful with a light vanilla background. I found the staff to be very nice and upbeat and prices were in line with most coffee places. This is a satisfying stop for some java if you're in the area. read more

It's okay, but not the best. My wife needed a caffeine boost, so we hopped on Yelp to find the closest coffee shop. International Coffee had some great reviews, and it was nearby, so we decided to try it. The cafe itself is lovely to look at. It's your typical hipster hangout, but it's cozy in a modern, industrial sorta way. The barista was friendly enough when taking our order, and we got our drink and warm pastries in less than 5 minutes, so that was a plus. My cinnamon roll was gooey and soft, just as I expected, but my wife seemed unimpressed by the chocolate croissant. But enough about that, what about the coffee?! It was disappointingly average. Definitely better than Starbucks, but not as life-changing as other cafes in the area. My wife has been on a peppermint mocha kick lately, so she's been ordering them all over town. International Coffees take on this warm holiday treat was creamy but served under temp, and the peppermint was faint. It wasn't bad by any means, but I'm not clamoring to go back. I went with my bf last week, I got the Spanish latte with a grilled cheese and he got the Madagascar vanilla with oat milk and the tomato pesto panini. The guy offered us a different milk option if we would like, which I thought was considerate We're coffee connoisseurs and try out new places to find good new coffee spots and we both really liked our coffees ( I tried his and it was really good too !) Only reason I leave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food wasn't super delicious, my grilled cheese wasn't completely melted so the cheese was kinda solid instead of melted but it was still tasty. He thought his panini was okay, but not the best. The place gave me a vibe like it was a chill spot to go study while enjoying your coffee/meal. ive gone here a couple times now and have really liked it! the croissant needed a bit more cheese, but i got a pesto sandwich before and i remember really liking it. the chocolate chip cookie was amazing though! the coffee is also pretty good! the place and servers are nice and the food comes out at a good time. there are a few mosquitos sometimes though so just put on some insect repellent if you are like me and always gets bitten by insects. i would obviously go again though! best cafe i found in fullerton so far. read more

Bummed about our experience. The iced latte tasted like just milk. The scones are the most mediocre we have ever had. The chocolate chip cookie was the only thing that was reasonably tasty. The music is load for a coffee shop. The employees stay in the back until customers come and have you order on the kiosk which doesn't have everything on the menu to begin with, so you end up having to pay separately at the counter for the extra items. My friends enjoyed the almond and strawberry croissants, and they thought it was a nice appetizer before their meal. I tried the chocolate croissant, and overall, it was tasty. Not sure why this place has good reviews because I'm really disappointed. The coffee is EXTREMELY watered down. I got 2 larges of the madagascar and the lavender and they were both bad. Maybe they wanted to cut corners and just add more water to fill the volume of a size large cup? Did not taste creamy or like a latte should at all. $15 for both too. Wanted to give this place a try because I pass by it all the time and won't be coming back. Had to go home and add my own creamer, syrups, and everything. Came here on a Monday night around 7pm and it was pretty packed with students studying. Their patio is super cute though I got a lavender milk tea. it was pretty sweet, but the lavender was just right. and it's pretty hard to get the right amount of lavender flavor for a lot of teas. Very friendly service on a busy Friday morning. The food was what one would expect from a coffee shop, I had the blueberry muffin warmed up. I also had the House Lavender Latte. The lavender was a very light herbal flavor that paired with the coffee nicely. It not an overly sweet syrup like I've had at other coffee places. The space was limited and tables where quite close together so there's not much in the way of privacy or workspace for a large group. Intentional became one of my favorite coffee shops to visit in Orange County. The drinks are delicious here. The atmosphere is relaxing, yet lively! There is a decent amount of outlets here, so I can work without worrying about my laptop dying. The space is nice as well, especially the patio area (yes, there are outlets outside). I really, really, really hope that Intentional Coffee is here to stay! I've seen a lot of shops come & go at this location, but I have my fingers crossed for this one. There was an older man who was working here when I came in. He was friendly, and answered my questions about the menu. He offered to warm up my pastry too! BTW the coffee cake is so yummy! I got a Dirty Milk Tea, which is espresso over milk tea. I'm looking forward to try their other drinks. I believe they only have food/brunch items on the weekends at certain times if you're looking for a meal. It's a small space, so I wouldn't try to bring over 6 people, but they do have a patio outside too! The whole shop is very cute, and I would see myself studying there more if I lived closer. read more
