I loved it here! This was recommended us by the hookah lounge next door and ya Habibi! It did not disappoint! The coffee's were delicious, service was a little off putting. It would have been nice to feel more welcomed. The decor was nice. Different seating areas. Super cute place to come get some pastries or sweets. I did not enjoy the chocolate baklava sadly. It was stale. I will definitely come back!

Stopped by on a Tuesday around 5:30pm for the Lotus Biscoff cheesecake, but it was sold out. Ended up trying the Lotus Biscoff cake instead, and it was sooo delicious! Perfectly sweet without being overpowering, and all the flavors came together really well. The cake was $14- a generous portion and enough to share between two. I'll definitely be back to try more items!

Yaaba, Shako Mako? What a delightful experience visiting Mar7aba Cafe. The service, beverages, delicious sweets, and atmosphere get's a solid 5 starts! Service with a smile: The lady barista was super friendly. We were greeted with a smile. To start, We ordered an iced caramel late and a chai, both lovely. The options for sweets looked amazing, but we just had lunch so barely room for a bite or two. We had the chocolate baqlawa, sprinkled with pistachio bits. I've had baqlawa, but never had a chocolate version before. Man, it was rich, but not too sweet, yet very tasty. Kudo's to the pastry Chef! If you don't know much about Iraq, you will miss the design & decorative details. From the broad Babylonian Cuneiform writing across the front and wall, to the small little decorative details like the small Kerosene heater (Soopa) in the corner. Finally, The atmosphere was very relaxing with chill music to enjoy it all. Mumtaz and Well done Mer7aba Owners and Staff. Happy to support a local Anaheim business. We will certainly be back to try more of what's on the menu.

It's been a while, but came here again last night for some dessert and tried the pistachio chocolate cake. The desserts are pretty amazing here and the staff are consistently friendly. The flavor of chocolate and pistachio pair together nicely, but I do recommend sharing the cake with a friend and pairing it with a beverage because of its rich decadent flavor.

This cute little shop is tucked away behind a gas station so kind of easy to miss, but definitely worth finding. The inside is super charming, with cozy décor and a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats. There's even a cute little sofa area near the restroom, which adds to the overall vibe. And yes, the restroom has a long mirror that's perfect for a quick photo op lol. The girl who took my order tonight was super friendly and sweet she was a 10/10 for me with customer service! I ordered the pistachio matcha and it was so good. I also picked up a Biscoff mini cake for my best friend, and she loved it. Personally, I was expecting a stronger Biscoff flavor, but it leaned more toward a light, creamy pastry. Still soft, tasty, and enjoyable. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more drinks and pastries. If you're in the area, it's absolutely worth stopping by!

This place really shocked me. The interior is stunningly beautiful and well decorated. The employees were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Latte and the Red Raspberry Cake. The latte was delicious and was well balanced with all of the flavors. The Red Raspberry Cake, however, wow. That was the best cake I've ever had in my life. It was so delicious I was savoring every moment. Definitely coming back and bringing all of my friends.

Wow spontaneous date night wandering around town. After dinner my boyfriend and I looked up dessert spots in the area and decided to go to Mar7aba Iraqi Café in Anaheim as it was the most unique option. The cashier in the front lacked training. Poor knowledge of her products. I asked if any of their beverages were de-caf as it was already late when we came. I was specifically intrigued by something another customer ordered and I asked if there was any caffeine, she said no. Then the owner or manager comes out and was like NO, I told you there was. There's actually A LOT OF CAFFEINE in that. Awkward! I wanted to extra support the business to try things on my first visit so I did settle on the Lime Tea ($5) for a noncaffeinated beverage. For the dessert they had a whole case of different looking baklava but the cashier couldn't really tell me what was different about them. It can't just be the shape right?? Maybe add some labels for your staff if there are training barriers. I ended up just picking a random piece of Baklava ($8). We also got a Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake ($14.99). I'm looking at my receipt now and I see a 3% credit card charge. I'm mad because there was no warning of this CC charge. I had cash I could have used if I was warned. The serving was really clumsy too. The owner or manager put the items on the tray but instead of just handing it to me, she put it towards the cashier to hand to me. But the cashier was busy helping another customer. I'm not a fan of the delays... it really would have been easier if she just handed it to me. Her staff is clearly struggling already. The lime tea has a herbal medicinal taste that I like but I don't think it's for everyone. The baklava was a bit stale. Not sure if that's because we came later in the day. It tasted okay, but just stale and lacking the flakiness that I enjoy in a typical baklava. I was literally thinking they might benefit from making less variety and preserving it better. As for the Dubai chocolate cheesecake, it was our favorite from a taste point of view. From a pastry point of view, the top layer is too thick in consistency. It could be a bit smoother. The middle layer gets smushed from being too soft as you eat it. Oh well... still tasty. I want to like the business. I would like to come back in the future and try other items, enjoy some caffeine during the daytime, and hope their staff is better trained by the time I come back.

Cute cafe with cute desserts! Went here for an after dinner dessert. Ended up grabbing a pistachio and a raspberry cake. Was debating whether to get a drink - we asked for what was uncaffeinated and was actually offered drinks that definitely did have caffeine in it. We opted for water and our cakes. The pistachio cake was fantastic - chocolate and pistachios - can't go wrong with that, and there's the texture of bits of pistachios that work well. The raspberry cake ... a bit of a miss for me - the amount of raspberry icing was a bit much that it ended up being a bit medicinal for our taste. Would come back - perhaps will try some baklava or cheesecake next time around.

I love their cakes here! Friends and I dropped in on a late Saturday night for a sweet treat and I was so pleasantly surprised by their cakes. It was soft and airy and not too sweet. I like that this place opens late and it has a great ambiance for sitting and enjoying tea and desserts. Can't wait to go back again!

If you are looking for perfectly executed, authentic baklava, this is the spot. The phyllo dough was incredibly flaky and crisp. It's sweet, but well-balanced enough that you can actually taste the quality of the nuts and the hint of honey. The staff was super welcoming and guided me through all the different desserts.

I rarely give 5 stars for a cafe but this place is so worth it! We ordered a biscoff cake and iced americano and they were AMAZING! Iced americano was not watered down which I loved. Biscoff cake is a must to try!!! Another great thing is that the person who was working was super nice and welcoming. It is located inside a small plaza so there are free parking spaces. Will definitely go back to try more of their delicious cakes

Cute spot you'd never expect to find on the corner of Brookhurst & Orangethorpe behind the gas station. I've seen this little place pop up on my feed a few times and finally decided to come sit and have a tea and pastry on a cold evening. They still had a decent selection of cakes and baklava at 6pm. Ordered the raspberry cake which was perfect for two. Also got the lime tea (first time trying a Turkish tea). I'm honestly not sure what it was...it was quite sweet and tangy while super earthy. Reminded me of Yerba mate with a ton of honey and lime. (I could be super off but that's my profile take on it). Honestly this is a cute spot to pull over and get a coffee or tea and get a little treat. It was very comfortable on a rainy day and the presentation of items was well done too.

For two, we ordered the "individual portions" of Mandi Chicken (young chicken roasted with Yemeni spices) & Lalamb Haneeth (a roasted young lamb that falls off the bone). These were both served over a large platter of Mandi rice and came with Yemeni sauce and yogurt. It was expertly made, yet still gave us the warmth of a homestyle meal. The generous portions resulted in a second meal for me! On a Tuesday night, this place was quite packed with friends and families. It seems like wonderful place to host parties or business meetings. Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Despite the large gatherings, the restaurant is a no-reservation spot. They have a covered patio outside to seat an overflow of customers in case. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I were seated right away. They had a contactless menu, and we scanned a QR code to check our food options, but a server took our order and offered great recommendations once we waved him down. I would love to come back and try other dishes, like their grilled chicken or lamb--as well as the desserts and teas !!

Cairo Restaurant & Cafe - Anaheim Rating: (5/5)…read more I ordered from Cairo Restaurant & Cafe through Uber Eats, and this ended up being one of the most meaningful food experiences I've had in a long time. For context, I come from Egyptian heritage. I'm first-generation American, and both of my parents grew up in Cairo. The dishes I ordered -- Hawashy as an appetizer and Makaroni Bechamel (Bashmil) casserole -- are foods I grew up with. The last time I had this exact meal cooked for me by my mother was several years ago, so placing this order felt like a gamble, especially with the restaurant being all the way in Anaheim while I live in Irvine. That gamble paid off immediately. From the very first bite, the food tasted unmistakably authentic. The hawashy was deeply seasoned, rich, and comforting -- exactly how it's supposed to be, not watered down or adjusted for convenience. The makaroni bechamel was the real emotional gut punch in the best way possible. Creamy, savory, perfectly spiced, and layered the way it's done back home. It tasted like something made with care, patience, and respect for the dish. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal hit me hard. After one bite, I literally called the restaurant just to thank them. I asked to speak to the manager and told him what this meal meant to me -- how it tasted like something my own mother would make, how it brought back memories I didn't realize I'd been missing. That call wasn't planned. It was instinctive. Huge shout-out to Zayne, the manager, who was incredibly kind and generous on the phone. He even sent along kunafa for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- warm, sweet, and beautifully made. Beyond the food itself, the packaging deserves real praise. Everything arrived hot, which is not easy, especially for a casserole like makaroni bechamel. Once that dish cools too much, it loses something important. This didn't. It arrived as if it had just come out of the oven, which speaks volumes about the care taken in preparing orders for delivery. This is not a 5-star review because of nostalgia or heritage alone. It's a 5-star review because the food was genuinely outstanding -- rich, decadent, comforting, and made the right way. It is very hard for me to say that something compares to my mother's cooking, but this truly came close. I cannot wait to come in person in the next few weeks. Cairo Restaurant & Cafe didn't just serve food -- they delivered a memory.

I was also surprised at the culinary experience. We did not order much, as it was only meant to be a snack. I felt that they went above and beyond to complete our dining experience. The food felt very homemade in the best way possible - it was homey and comforting. The bread that covered the spinach pie (which was way larger than I was expecting) was fluffy, filling, warm, and just out of this world. The ideal bread experience!
