I was hella tired on the drive home, pulled over for gas, looked over, and saw this café like it was calling my name. Figured I'd slide in for a little caffeine intervention. I was stuck between the Turkish coffee and the pistachio latte, but wifey gave me the look and said, Get the pistachio.. Fellas... just listen to your wife. Saves time and apparently leads to great coffee. The girl behind the counter looked like she was running the whole show by herself and was straight hustlin'. She never missed a beat. Respect. The little tic-tac-toe games on the tables were clutch the kids stayed busy instead of negotiating a WWE match. The Middle Eastern music in the background made the whole place feel warm and inviting, and that Biscoff cheesecake Man... I almost ordered another slice but I'm not trying to stay a big back.. Oooh love this place! If you are looking for a cute spot, with easy parking, very late at night to hangout and chat with friends or for a cute date, this place is open!!! Beautiful set up, low middle eastern music in the background, and friendly girls helping us choose between all the yummy options!! Absolutely fell in love with this tea house. We visited on a weekend afternoon and ordered a pot of Karak tea and a slice of pistachio cheesecake. The tea was soo delicious and fragrant. Sitting on their comfy couches and drinking tea was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Since it was the two of us, we couldn't finish all of it and they gladly put the remainder in a takeaway cup. The pistachio cheesecake was lovely as well. Not too sweet and full of pistachio flavor. When I tell you this place is amazing, it's truly amazing. You can see by the bites in the cake before we took pictures. So anyway, what's good? Anything. We got some tea to start off, lime tea is a little too tart for me but my wife loved it! The karak tea was a nice complement to the cakes. The lotus biscoff cake was simply heavenly. It's the epitome of not too sweet. The cake was so spongey, couldn't get enough of it. The Pistachio cake was a little sweeter since they had chocolate in it too. But still, it was not too sweet. Service with a smile: The lady barista was super friendly. We were greeted with a smile. To start, We ordered an iced caramel late and a chai, both lovely. The options for sweets looked amazing, but we just had lunch so barely room for a bite or two. We had the chocolate baqlawa, sprinkled with pistachio bits. I've had baqlawa, but never had a chocolate version before. Man, it was rich, but not too sweet, yet very tasty. Kudo's to the pastry Chef! If you don't know much about Iraq, you will miss the design & decorative details. From the broad Babylonian Cuneiform writing across the front and wall, to the small little decorative details like the small Kerosene heater (Soopa) in the corner. Stopped by on a Tuesday around 5:30pm for the Lotus Biscoff cheesecake, but it was sold out. Ended up trying the Lotus Biscoff cake instead, and it was sooo delicious! Perfectly sweet without being overpowering, and all the flavors came together really well. The cake was $14- a generous portion and enough to share between two. This cute little shop is tucked away behind a gas station so kind of easy to miss, but definitely worth finding. The inside is super charming, with cozy décor and a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats. There's even a cute little sofa area near the restroom, which adds to the overall vibe. And yes, the restroom has a long mirror that's perfect for a quick photo op lol. The girl who took my order tonight was super friendly and sweet she was a 10/10 for me with customer service! I ordered the pistachio matcha and it was so good. I also picked up a Biscoff mini cake for my best friend, and she loved it. Personally, I was expecting a stronger Biscoff flavor, but it leaned more toward a light, creamy pastry. Still soft, tasty, and enjoyable. This place really shocked me. The interior is stunningly beautiful and well decorated. The employees were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Latte and the Red Raspberry Cake. The latte was delicious and was well balanced with all of the flavors. The Red Raspberry Cake, however, wow. Wow spontaneous date night wandering around town. After dinner my boyfriend and I looked up dessert spots in the area and decided to go to Mar7aba Iraqi Café in Anaheim as it was the most unique option. The cashier in the front lacked training. Poor knowledge of her products. I asked if any of their beverages were de-caf as it was already late when we came. I was specifically intrigued by something another customer ordered and I asked if there was any caffeine, she said no. Then the owner or manager comes out and was like NO, I told you there was. There's actually A LOT OF CAFFEINE in that. Awkward! I wanted to extra support the business to try things on my first visit so I did settle on the Lime Tea ($5) for a noncaffeinated beverage. For the dessert they had a whole case of different looking baklava but the cashier couldn't really tell me what was different about them. It can't just be the shape right?? Maybe add some labels for your staff if there are training barriers. I ended up just picking a random piece of Baklava ($8). We also got a Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake ($14.99). I'm looking at my receipt now and I see a 3% credit card charge. I'm mad because there was no warning of this CC charge. I had cash I could have used if I was warned. The serving was really clumsy too. The owner or manager put the items on the tray but instead of just handing it to me, she put it towards the cashier to hand to me. But the cashier was busy helping another customer. I'm not a fan of the delays... it really would have been easier if she just handed it to me. Her staff is clearly struggling already. The lime tea has a herbal medicinal taste that I like but I don't think it's for everyone. The baklava was a bit stale. Not sure if that's because we came later in the day. It tasted okay, but just stale and lacking the flakiness that I enjoy in a typical baklava. I was literally thinking they might benefit from making less variety and preserving it better. As for the Dubai chocolate cheesecake, it was our favorite from a taste point of view. From a pastry point of view, the top layer is too thick in consistency. It could be a bit smoother. The middle layer gets smushed from being too soft as you eat it. Oh well... still tasty. I want to like the business. I would like to come back in the future and try other items, enjoy some caffeine during the daytime, and hope their staff is better trained by the time I come back. read more

Cute cafe with cute desserts! Went here for an after dinner dessert. Ended up grabbing a pistachio and a raspberry cake. Was debating whether to get a drink - we asked for what was uncaffeinated and was actually offered drinks that definitely did have caffeine in it. We opted for water and our cakes. The pistachio cake was fantastic - chocolate and pistachios - can't go wrong with that, and there's the texture of bits of pistachios that work well. The raspberry cake ... a bit of a miss for me - the amount of raspberry icing was a bit much that it ended up being a bit medicinal for our taste. I was looking for some coffee and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Drive past this street all the time and you'd never think twice that a lovely cafe would be here. I got the Turkish coffee because I've always wanted to try it; it was earthy and fragrant. Surprisingly not too bitter despite having no milk and being strong. The barista was nice enough to answer my questions about the drink since I never had it before. I paired my coffee with a pistachio basque cheesecake and it was such a lovely pairing! The creamy, not too sweet cheesecake with the bold, robust Turkish coffee was top tier and I'm glad I didn't get a latte because it would've been too heavy with a milk-based drink. The space is really peaceful and had pleasant music playing so I think it would be a nice place to study as it is very clean, has charging stations, and is a very comfy/aesthetic environment. Cute spot you'd never expect to find on the corner of Brookhurst & Orangethorpe behind the gas station. I've seen this little place pop up on my feed a few times and finally decided to come sit and have a tea and pastry on a cold evening. They still had a decent selection of cakes and baklava at 6pm. Ordered the raspberry cake which was perfect for two. Also got the lime tea (first time trying a Turkish tea). I'm honestly not sure what it was...it was quite sweet and tangy while super earthy. Reminded me of Yerba mate with a ton of honey and lime. (I could be super off but that's my profile take on it). First time visiting this Iraqi café as we were on the lookout for a new spot to kick off the new year and we're so glad we found it. The café has a cozy, warm ambiance with warm lighting. It's an intimate space with about 8 tables, first come first serve (no reservations), which adds to its charm and relaxed vibe. The drink menu is simple and thoughtfully curated, featuring Iraqi tea and coffee. We tried the Iraqi tea, a latte, and a few desserts, most notably the chocolate raspberry, which was absolutely outstanding. Hands down one of the best desserts we've had. The Belgian chocolate shell with a raspberry filling inside was rich, balanced, and not overly sweet. Truly impressive. All the cakes are made by the owner, and you can really taste the care and quality in each bite. The Iraqi tea was flavorful and a bit strong for our preference, but still enjoyable. Next time, we'll ask for a little hot water to dilute it slightly, personal preference more than anything. As we were leaving, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Hiba, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. That personal touch really elevated the entire experience. We're already looking forward to coming back and we're excited to check out their shawarma spot opening just a couple of doors down in about two weeks (same ownership!). I came here in the afternoon with a friend to catch up and grab something sweet. There was plenty of parking, which was a nice surprise. As soon as we walked in, it felt like stepping into a beautiful Middle Eastern sanctuary. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Friends and I were trying to find a cafe to hang out at for a bit and we wanted to try something new. We saw Mar7aba Iraqi Cafe via Yelp and was instantly drawn in by the cute cakes and sweets. It was also a different experience from the usual boba places that we go to, so why not. It's a pretty popular cafe. Most of the tables were taken and we had to drag some chairs from close by so we can all sit together. Definitely looks like a place that's popular for catching up, hanging out, and maybe even studying. Interior decor reminds me of Toro Tea's bohemian minimalism with a dash of culture wit the traditional coffee making tools and utensils all around. Restroom is clean too. They're open super late at night which is a plus. For our visit, we got the: 1) Turkish Coffee: -It's a small amount, but served in the traditional ceramic cup with the metal net/carrying piece around it. So you can pick it up without transferring the heat to your fingers. -My friend is a coffee connoisseur and grinds beans at home, and all of that, and he didn't like it. Said it tasted like muddy water. I'm not a fan of these types of coffee either, so it tasted bitter and a bit sour to me too. Great for pics, but not good. 2) Sea Salt Caramel Iced Latte: -Comes with 2 shots of espresso and your choice of milk. -Friend got this and I'll be honest, it's more of a dessert drink than anything. I love sea salt caramel so I thought it was super yummy, but with our cakes, this might have been sugar overload for someone who doesn't really intake that much sugar either. 3) Iraqi Tea: -I got this hot and didn't need to add in any additional sugar or sweeteners. -It comes out super hot and in a pretty big mug, so there's enough to sip through for a while. It's a strong tasting black tea with fragrant cardamom. Reminds me of a fall drink, which I really like. 4) Lotus Biscoff Cake" -It's a vanilla sponge cake with layers of Biscoff cookie butter spread and wrapped with a white chocolate Biscoff glaze and topped with, of course, a Biscoff cookie on top. -It's a very sweet and decadent cake, strong Biscoff cookie butter taste to it, luckily no strong white chocolate taste. Went great with my unsweetened hot tea. I'm a fan of Biscoff cookies to begin with so this was a must for me and I took the first and last bite. I wouldn't mind getting the Biscoff cheesecake if I come back again. 5) Red Raspberry Cake: -Very eye catching bright red cake. It's a vanilla sponge cake with raspberry cream and filling and a raspberry glaze. -I'm not the biggest fan of raspberry and this was overly too sweet for me and everyone else. There's the very slight raspberry tart taste to it, but overall, just tastes like a sweet berry cake. We couldn't finish this. The presentation of all drinks and food on the tray is lovely and great for pics. I don't mind coming back and trying other items on the menu. read more

I settle on a pistachio cheese cake and pistachio latte. Pistachio latte ($8 [included cold foam] - I really enjoyed this drink with it's strong pistachio flavor profile that went well with the espresso. It was so refreshing. Pistachio cheesecake ($13) - This Basque cheesecake was rich, creamy and had a nice pistachio flavor. A small jug with milk chocolate was provided to pour over the cheesecake which really added to the flavor profile. Overall I was really impressed with the latte here and the cheesecake. I did however feel the cheesecake was on the pricier side as compared to other Arab coffee houses. The pistachio cheesecake offering at Sana Cafe (Yemeni) is better in my opinion but the chocolate pour over here provides for a unique experience. read more

Amazing experience/visit and we loved all the desserts and drinks there. The milk tea (unsweetened) pairs so well with the sweets. We had the pistachio cheesecake, which was amazing. I was expecting it to be a firmer texture but it was silky smooth. The biscoff cake was also delicious and has cookie butter inside. Since it's tall, it can be shared with friends. The baklava was delicious - my favorite was the dark chocolate one. All of the desserts come on these beautiful trays and the milk tea in a jug on a stand with a candle inside.
