WORST EXPERIENCE WITH INTENSE REMODEL!! On May 30, 2016 I purchased a full set of kitchen cabinets through Home Depot. At that time they were unable to install the cabinets in a timely manner and referred me to a few contractors through their Pro Referral. I then met with Shane owner of Intense Remodel and got a quote to install the cabinets. While he was at our home we are remodeling he informed me he was a general contractor and could give me a quote on the other jobs we needed done to the house. Including installing door handles, base, casing, painting the inside and outside of the home, stucco outside of home, install all flooring, install three bathrooms of tile, shower pans and tile showers. On June 22, 2016 I gave Intense Remodel a deposit of $6000.00 to begin the work agreed to and both signed off on the $25,000 invoice provided. On that same day I informed IR that the security fencing around the home would be removed on June 24, 2016 and that the home needed to be secure by that date. I supplied IR with the appropriate door handles and locks in which to do so. I had those available the same day and ready for pick up at my office. June 24, 2016 IR crew picked up the handles from my office at 11am, I then text messaged Shane owner of Intense Remodel to make him aware that his crew had the handles and to make sure the handles were installed on the proper doors. IR Shane responded at that time. To my surprise when I returned to the home at 6pm on June 26th none of the handles or locks had been installed leaving the home wide open to anyone for two days as the security fencing had been removed 2 days prior. Then on June 28, 2016 I supplied IR with the paint colors and brand per IR request (Behr paint). The following day IR asked if you could use a different paint brand which I said was ok as long as it looked as good as the Behr brand paint I had sent IR to begin with. IR later informed me that IR went ahead and got Behr brand paint for the job. June 30, 2016 I arrive at the home at 7:45pm to find painters painting in the dark. I returned the following day at 2:30pm to see that the paint is a complete mess and everywhere masking tape has been removed the paint is also gone as well as bubbling. The walls are new construction drywall and were only sprayed with low grade Glidden Speedwall paint leaving them at a prime state. When I called to complain IR came to the house to tell me it was Behr paint, however the paint cans of Speedwall were there and your crew confirmed you had them purchase the cheaper paint and only apply a paint coat and not a primer layer. Later that day on July 1, 2016 IR text me that you were sorry for the issues and would get it taken care of. July 3, 2016 I inspect the home nothing has been corrected and I text IR asking for a progress report. No response from IR until July 5, 2016 letting me know crew is purchasing Behr paint. Upon later inspection of the "corrected" paint job it is mediocre at best. I then hear nothing from you until July 11, 2016 which I receive a text message asking for $6500.00 and that the paint would be complete that day. Later on July 11, 2016 I inspect the paint and agree to move forward with the next phase of work. On July 12, 2016 I meet with IR and pay IR $6500.00. IR stated (as well as text message) that on that same day IR will picking up the necessary supplies to move forward and begin work on the interior the following morning 2800 sq ft of hardy backer etc for flooring in entire home as well as three bathrooms. As of July 19, 2016 not one thing has been touched or delivered to the inside of the home. On July 18, 2016 I called IR no response later that day I received a text from IR stating IR will need tile and thin set. I state that thin set is part of what IR is to supply per the invoice. IR then text that yes, the thin set is included but not leveling the floor. IR states that if I do buy the thin set that they will level the floor at no cost. At no time was the level of the floor ever mentioned as an issue. Seems that IR is just trying to have me pay for thin set and this is their way around it. At 5pm I text IR staying those facts. At 10:15pm that same night I receive 7 aggressively toned text messages from IR. During all of this IR is working on stucco of the entire outside of the house which has been completed and is now in need of major repairs. Everywhere doors and windows had been removed are now visible with large cracks. Since there was no further progress with any materials showing up and IR not responding I went back to Home Depot and filed a complaint regarding IR. I supplied to Home Depot all necessary pictures and written exchange between my self and IR. Home Depot agreed IR should refund $5600.00 to me. During this process Shane at Intense Remodel voluntarily cancelled his license with the register of contractors. Home Depot has terminated his service from their pro referral. As of August 12, 2015 I have not received a refund\ read more
