    Seoul soju night
    Carol C.

Prior to coming, thankfully I had made a reservation on resy because the place (huge space) was fully seated by the time we arrived at our reserved time! Also upon entering, there is a narrow walkway leading into a huge, high ceiling dining space! We got 2 pitchers of drinks to start- the orange ginger and passion fruit! I personally liked the passion fruit over the ginger because it was sweeter and had a floral scent to it! What's a night of soju drinking without some jeon(pancakes)!! We love a good kimchi jeon! It was crispy and light with a nice kick from the kimchi! Moving onwards to the BBQ, we were looking forward to trying the wagyu trio, but sadly they were all out! Our server suggested the kkot deung shim and it did not disappoint! This was a dry aged, grass fed rib eye and our server cooked it well (leaving a slight pink in the center)! We also got some tangsuyuk and carbonara to share and to end the night, we had some coconut gelato. We ended up staying pretty late and moved over to their bar for some more drinks and it was a nice cozy area with booths for groups. Overall, it was a great night of good food with good drinks!

This review is for the bar. Its a nice and cozy spot to have a few drinks with friends. Liked that they had a wide variety of korean drinks and cocktails, and comfortable booths to sit at. The bar tenders were friendly and place was clean. The restaurant section is spacious and welcoming, and they even have karaoke rooms. Would come back next time to try the food/karaoke.

Insa was an incredible experience. Went in not really knowing what to expect, but came out with the best Kbbq I've ever had. We got the Galbi beef bbq. Servers were extremely friendly and attentive, and made us aware of the amazing specials they have like $20 off bottles of wine on Weds & Thurs which we definitely took advantage of! The banchan was refilled frequently and the meat was cooked to perfection. Apparently they do open mic karaoke every other Thursday and I can't wait to try that too. Only good vibes here at Insa!

We were looking for a spot to try in Brooklyn and noticed this place after seeing it get two stars in a New York Times food review. The atmosphere has a charming, old-school feel with wide wooden tables that give off a rustic, vintage vibe, almost as if you've stepped into a classic steakhouse from a different era. The warmth of the wood really adds to the cozy, inviting ambiance. The steak was cooked to perfection, and we loved that we didn't have to grill it ourselves, which made the experience even better. The service was excellent, and the drinks were delicious. The steamed dumplings were a nice surprise--yummy and perfectly prepared. Overall, it was a great spot that lived up to the hype!

I would come here for the appetizers alone. My friends and I ordered the dumplings, pork buns, broccoli, wings, and seafood pancake. We enjoyed all of them, but that Broccoli is the best I have ever had. We ended up ordering it twice. The kimchi fried rice is good and spicy. The short rib is a must have. It was flavorful and was cooked to our liking. As for the drinks, you only need one. They definitely do not skim on the alcohol. Come here for a chill time with friends.

Closed Mondays & Tuesdays Really nice place to celebrate a birthday. We came here with a group of 8 and got a karaoke room for two hours. Someone walked us into the room and explained all the rules even though only half the group had arrived. You can download an app to control which songs to put on next if you do not want to flip through the book they have there. You must ask for the wifi password before you can download the app. The man who kept coming in to refill our water and take empty plates out was very attentive. I had no problem with the service during the karaoke portion of the night. We got a passion fruit soju bowl (8/10- probably would not get this again), melona cocktail, high noons (which come in orders of 4, 8,10) , and fried mandu. Both the vegetable and meat mandu were good. I actually preferred the vegetable mandu more. The sauce it came with was also very good. At times, the bathroom like got long because there are only 2 bathrooms. We walked past the very cozy bar section and had to leave for an hour because the barbecue section was so fully booked. (There's a cute brewery across the street) Fast forward, one hour later, we were seated at our table. Everything is very open. One thing that surprised me was they only had ginger ale. For dinner, we got pajeon, which is a pancake with garlic and chives. Everyone enjoyed this and we eventually ordered a second one. For BBQ, we got galbi, pork belly, shrimp, and an order of mushroom. Surprisingly, the mushroom order came with a variety of mushrooms and was my favorite thing that night. Our waitress came by the table to see if we wanted anything before the kitchen closed. I also appreciated her telling us to be careful when she was switching the hot BBQ plates. The banchan was "bottomless", but if was hard to get a refill. We got a brownie sundae for my friend's birthday and it smelled very good. It was served in a hot plate to warm the brownie, so the wax actually melted too. We wanted to surprise my friend, but the waitress came by and asked if we wanted any desserts besides the surprise cake. Overall, it was a good place to celebrate a birthday, the food was good, but some things could be improved upon.

Fun atmosphere with long tables, not very private. Had the panjeon, salad, and kalbi. The real star was the dessert - like a mochiko cake with berry reduction and a nice little scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fun to watch the chef cook the kalbi in front of us, but she had no conversation to share with us.

Fantastic top to bottom. can't wait to go back. The Corn Gratin was definitely a highlight and our server Kris was wonderful.

Fantastic top to bottom. can't wait to go back. The Corn Gratin was definitely a highlight but the pork belly, mushrooms, and ribeye were wonderful. Great vibes in the space plus karaoke in the back were a plus. Our server Kris was fantastic as well, he knew how to be attentive and weigh in in all the right ways. I'll be back!

Occasion : my friend's B-day dinner. Group of 10. The decor here is very sleek and minimalist. Festive atmosphere. The place insisted that all of us be there for our 8:30pm reservation. Few of us hanged out by the bar. When the time came, they were still able to sit us minus one person. Drinks: The most impressive cocktail was the Jade Emperor (we got 4 of them) It was made from Pisco, matcha (not a strong flavor) with a strong cucumber taste. Very refreshing! Eastern Lights were also a hit for those preferring to drink vodka. Food: We were confused at first about how to proceed. All credit goes to our server Justin who guided each of us with our choices. We all ordered an item for BBQ and shared family style. Food was made tableside with accompanied side dishes. He gave good suggestions. Here is what we loved from the menu: -THE RIBEYE. It ran for $45. But it was so flavorful, so tender. -Beef Tartare. Surprisingly so so delicious! Probably my favorite dish -Yangnyum Galbi. Beef short rib. A good option after the rib, had a BBQ flavor. -Dolsot Bibimbap with bulgogi. Came in a good portion! -Japchae. Loved the glass noodles! -Samgyeopsal. thinly sliced pork belly. looked like bacon. still good! Cons: the biggest cons is obviously the price. Our bill came down to a whopping $596. And it's not like I walked out of there with a super full belly. Obviously not an everyday type of place to eat.

Service 5/5: Friendly service. Because it wasn't too busy, the waitstaff were always attentive. Ambiance 5/5: Quiet, calm/warm lighting, music wasn't too loud. Felt like a private dining experience which I liked. Food 5/5: A lot of AYCE options. Almost everything is self serve but you have to ask for the meats. Can't comment on specific house made drinks since we didn't try any and their included soft drinks were more than enough. I wanted to come back for the stone crab which they sadly didn't have this time. They had blue crab and clams this time, so I'm assuming there might be some seasonal items. They also have new desserts on the house which were nice (See brown sugar rice cakes picture. These were too sweet for me but they were free so I can't complain).

This place also has regular BBQ meat sticks in addition to the hot pot meat sticks. The chicken, lamb, beef, and all the standard organ sticks are cooked very well. Everything is moist and not overly seasoned. Sometimes at these places the seasoning can be overly sweet or overly salty, but that was not the case here. The tins of mushrooms, especially the one with the beef, were also great. Besides fatty beef and enoki mushrooms, there were wood ear mushrooms, peppers, and a bunch of other things like a few rice cakes. Definitely get this if you love buttery, brothy beef with mushrooms and vegetables. The garlic eggplants are also super good if you love a roasted garlic overload. You can also order off the sheet by checking off the items and listing the quantity, which is very convenient. The only thing I did not think was worth it was the watermelon juice. One pitcher was twenty two dollars and it barely served six to seven small tea cups worth. Will definitely come back for the AYCE menu next time.
