Taste you cannot hate! Sweet, savory, and flavorful. The portion size is also generous in my opinion. Nice addition of quick and fast Korean food option for delivery. Recommend checking this place out when you crave some Korean Foods! :)

I discovered this place right before the pandemic hit NYC, around the end of February and beginning of March. I haven't been back since, but I will be returning to the area since school has started back up for me and intend to visit this place and update my review with their post-quarantine measures. To start off with, I absolutely fell in love with the food and the owner is the sweetest lady. She's very kind and made conversation with me before I headed out. I had chosen to dine in for a classic sundubu-jigae on a cold day in February. She cooks everything herself which is incredible. She takes good care to make sure your food is well prepared and hot when you get it. It's such a wonderfully homemade taste that I have been missing throughout the quarantine. Prior to the pandemic, it was a self ordering system. There were two tablets to order from, and a fridge nearby to grab your prepaid drink. There was one large communal table with seating along with a repurposed pellegrino box for utensils and napkins. Talk about environmentally conscious, we love that. There were also two chairs on the side, I assume for customers waiting for their to go orders. Anyway, I love the food from here, it's a little on the pricier side since it's all homemade dishes but I'm also a broke college student lol so keep that in mind. Eating from here is a treat, one that I miss and can't wait to return to. I highly, highly recommend!! I'm excited to stop by again soon and support this business.

Tiger Box makes homey, quality Korean food with some Mexican fusion. While the location on Park is a little out there, I enjoy the walk for my pick up and they do have delivery. My review is only for pick up. My family swears by the seafood pancake/paijun. We order two pancakes for four of us, otherwise we will fight. They always have a lot of seafood in them (shrimp and octopus), scallions, and are undersalted so you can dip them liberally into the soy sauce. (We throw them into a frying pan to crisp back up when we get home for maximum tastiness, a toaster over works too!) We also love the japchae (sweet potato noodles) which are loaded with vegetables and beef and are sooo good. The bimbimbap is my summer entree go-to, as it's loaded with veggies and is a lighter, refreshing dish. Bimbimbap comes with go chu hang on the side so you can mix in as much spice as you like. Hubs likes the galbi bowl (beef short rib) over the kimchi fried rice. I also love the soon dou bou stew, but I prefer eating it in the winter since it's spicy and hot and soupy. I think the prices are fair for the quantity and quality. Usually when I order ahead, my food is ready to go at pick up. This last run they needed an extra 10 minutes. During COVID, they're running a lean ship. For non COVID times, there is a very small dining room that can seat 6-8 people, which tells me you're better doing take out.

There's that saying about some restaurants, "a hole in the wall", right? That's usually referring to the appearance of the restaurant, which rarely plays a part in the experience and the food itself (based on my experience, anyway). Tiger Box is totally a hole in the wall. It's small, not fancy at all, not a bunch of hype and frills, but the experience....man, the experience. I arrived to be welcomed by the owner, Sy (spellcheck, please). She.is.phenomenal. We chatted for a bit before I ordered. There's no seating inside, so I went outside to sit and wait for my food. I had no idea what I was in store for. I tried several different dishes. The spicy pork bowl being one of them. Rice and pork, marinated in gochujang, ginger and other flavorful components, really got me in my feelings almost instantly. You taste the warmth, and the experience, and the love right away. I also tried the kimchi jjigae, which is a hot stew with kimchi, pork, onions, green onions, rice, and more. I'd say this was one of the most special dishes. The kimchi soaking in that stew, the tofu absorbing all of those flavors....ugh. Cooking is an art. This was cooking from a deeply rooted cultural background. The history was in every bite. I also tried the spicy pork ssam wraps, which were delightful. More of that yummy spicy pork, but with the freshness of the lettuce. Such a bright, Spring-y dish! The seafood scallion pancakes were one of my faves! Savory pancakes, packed with flavor, and seafood! I also tried the steamed meat kimchi mandu, which appear as dumplings, but owner Sy says, "no, it's mandu". And listen, I wasn't about to argue with her! She KNOWS, ok?! The mandu was divine. They were stuffed with kimchi and pork. After speaking with Sy, I have so much more of an appreciation for kimchi. She says the process is tedious, that it takes time. The more steps you add to your kimchi, the better it tastes. The more flavor you develop. She says it's a lot of work, but that she doesn't regret it. The kimchi is a top seller because it's served in so many dishes. Sy is special. She really does love running Tiger Box. That is inspiring and you can taste her love in the food. This is homestyle authentic Korean cuisine, and I am still blown away by it all. I cannot wait to get back! Please, please do yourself a favor and visit Tiger Box in Brooklyn.

    Veggie Bibimbop with Egg

This place is great. Rarely in New York do you find honest, healthy, great food, priced reasonably. In the throes of the ongoing Korean boom, there are few places to get authentic Korean food without being sucked into a pretentious experience-economy restaurant (looking at you, White Tiger) or a sleazy steakhouse chain, of which there are many examples. This place is real. The pickles are made in house, the owner (who is also the chef, and if you choose to dine in, the service) is a friendly, pleasant, and caring woman who told me during my first visit, "I am a Korean food evangelist," explaining her almost ritualistic to serving incredible food like this out of a hole-in-the-wall under the BQE. I should hope to one day find my craft like she has hers- at least I get to eat at Tiger Box.

Could be great This is the second time that I tried the place First time-- years back-- I went to the store and picked up some food-- I was not very impressed Nowadays I've been craving Korean food. Due to the pandemic, I don't go to K town or Queens as much so I wanted to give it a try again Pork ssam--tastes so good!! I wish they could use less crushed garlic in the bulggogi--it gives a bitter taste at the end in my opinion I like bulgoggi and jabchae to be sweeter and have more soy sauce & sesame oil flavor Please note that they gave us a cloth mask with filters and a note which was so thoughtful. They definitely care about their customers.

Small spot tucked away at the side of the highway. A really nice lady operates the entire shop by herself. A really yummy bibimbap for takeout dinner! About $18 including tip. She takes Apple Pay.

Best kept secret in this part of the neighborhood. Located a little ways off the main shopping/bar areas but definitely worth walking up a few blocks. Food was delicious! Went here with a group of friends looking for something eat before hitting the bar scene. I agree with most of the other yelp reviews, food was excellent! I had the Spicy Pork bowl and it had the right amount of heat! They will also add more spice upon request which was great. Also be sure to ask for recommendations if you are unsure or in between on a few items. They were very accommodating! Also, a number of dishes already come with one egg but they are more than happy to add extra if needed.

i work in the area and eat here often. thankfully, food is on the homestyle korean side rather than fast-fusion. pretty healthy as well with lots of fresh vegetables in most dishes. i can eat here multiple times a week. if you're hungry, i especially recommend the combo meals posted on the window. homemade dumplings are my go-to, available in 3 filling choices. also the ordering is self-service, just go straight to the ipad and order.

Last night we decided it was time she try Korean food, and specifically he wanted to choose a Bib Gourmand restaurant. We booked this reservation the same day, and watched spots get taken as we booked on the website! Street parking wasn't hard to find and we were greeted and seated immediately. We loved the calming atmosphere inside and had a table with a view of everything. After offering us water, we decided on drinks. I ordered the Velvet Reviver, which was described as an espresso martini meets a White Russian. It was delicious and almost like a dessert drink. My boyfriend ordered The Squid & The Whale which grew on all of us, especially paired with our food. To start, we shared the Yache pajun (vegetable scallion pancakes) and the Dukboki fundido (a Mexican inspired spicy, hot, cheesy dip with my favorite chewy Korean rice cakes inside). The scallion pancakes were delicious and had much more texture than once I have tried in the past, paired with a perfect vinegary sauce you can spoon on top. We all loved the dip and it was the perfect amount of spicy and comforting chewiness. I then was recommended a white wine to pair with the appetizer I chose as my entree, the Yeoneo. Each slice of salmon was incredibly fresh, and they were very generous with the amount of row that was served as well. The greens and avocado slices were great as well to add more texture. My boyfriend then ordered a yummy beer and the Daegu jorim. We absolutely adored this dish and noted that the cod had perfect structure to it, that almost mimic that of the deliciously cooked radishes in this dish. His mother ordered the ultimate comfort dish of the night, the Kalbi jjim (with no jalapeños). We were in awe at how the meat fell apart due to how tender it was. If you like melt in your mouth beef and stew like dishes, this is the dish for you. Our food was served with some banchan: amazing kimchi, myeolchi bokkeum (dried anchovies, much more mild than you'd expect), and kongjang (soy beans, also mild and with more chew than a typical edamame you might expect). We absolutely loved our dinner here and how helpful and kind the weight staff was, explaining different dishes and flavors, and clearing and switching out our plates at every turn.

Since I was staying in Brooklyn for work, Haenyeo was an easy choice for a date night dinner. We went on a Thursday evening around 8pm. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately without a wait. The restaurant was fairly busy; if you're planning ahead I would consider making a reservation. We started with an order of the Japchae. Then we ordered the Bibimbop with chicken and the Bulgogi. The Japchae was underwhelming. Not a strong flavor profile, leaned sort of bland. The entrees were much better. The rice in the Bibimbop had a really yummy crispy layer. When all mixed together, it's a great melody of flavors and textures. The Bulgogi was equally enjoyable. Definitely recommend the red spicy sauce it comes with. We shared both entrees among 2 people and felt the portions sizes were decent - neither left hungry. The service was okay. We didn't seem to have a dedicated server. It felt like all the wait staff takes care of everyone simultaneously? Everyone was friendly; there was just a long wait for someone to come for our food order. If you're looking for an authentic experience with Korean food, this may be the spot for you.

Happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised! Almost everything we ordered was delicious! Both Korean Fried Chicken orders had good flavor and great for sharing. I rarely see Soy Ginger as an option (usually it's Soy Garlic) but I like the slight sharpness it added to each bite. The Seafood Pancake was crispy, loaded with seafood, and paired nicely with the ponzu. The Slow Loris Roll was incredible! The rice ratio was just right, there was a good variety of fish and it was all fresh, the avocado and sauces added nice creaminess, and torching the roll was the cherry on top. The Spicy Bulgogi Fried Rice with Cheese was super savory, the sunnyside egg was cooked perfectly, and the portion was solid. I didn't care for the cheese and honestly could've done without and not noticed. It did need something to cut through the richness. I did enjoy the Beef Galbi much more! It is brought to the table sizzling and smelling amazing. It's savory, sweet, and smoky. I like that it's paired with kimchi & rice making this is complete meal. All in all, I was impressed with everything here! We were also a large party (7 people) yet everything was served correctly and in a timely fashion. Definitely recommend stopping by!
