Just opened days ago, BK Gangnam brings fast food Korean to the already bustling Dekalb Market. The lady at the counter is very nice, the restaurant has a cute exterior that matches the vibe of the overall market. A great addition! Taste: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Value for money: 3/5 (It could be that the market's rent is high which push to higher food prices) We had: 1) Combo #1: this provided an option of chicken poppers or soy garlic wings and then an option of a side like Korean pancake and rice cakes + a soda 2) Combo #2: this provided an option of chicken as well and then an option for a homemade tasting Korean seaweed roll + a soda The chicken was cooked very well. For the price point we paid though $20 for the first combo and $25 for the second, we probably would of preferred it the food to be cooked fresh, the rice cakes definitely tasted as though it was sitting there. All in all, a great addition and excited to see it flourish!

So this spot, I started frequenting but have not left a review for them until today. My dish of choice is the, Chilli Popper Rice Bowl. It comes with a layer of rice topped with pieces of fried chicken topped with house made spicy sauce, mayo and finely chopped seasoning. The bowl is served with radish Kimchi - Im not a kimchi fan but I enjoy it with this meal. It looks good, smells good and taste great. The location is small. One pretty much orders their food and leaves finds seating else where in the food court. This is a great place to pop-in grab your food during that ever shrinking lunck break. The chicken is chrunky with right type of moisture. I hate soggy, wet, slimy chicken. It has good flavor with the contrasting sweet and burn of the chili sauce. The rice is cooked to the correct consistency - not to hard and not soggy. The cost of the meal might catch you off guard a little. This is Downtown Brooklyn we're talking about here, so one should expect that. With that said, I have eaten the Chili Popper Rice Bowl several times so the taste offsets the cost. Also the portion is satisifying. I have to also mention the staff were always pleasant, I always observe that where ever I choose to dine. I like this spot, next time I will try something new to give another review.

I haven't been back home to NY in some years. This establishment is very new to me. I looked at the menu & saw that there were a few things that a non meat eater like myself can indulge in. The cashier was very friendly & helpful with my choices. I had the Korean scallion pancakes half kimchi and half scallion. My granddaughter had the California/crab rolls which she devoured. My sister got the fried dumplings that she and my granddaughter fought over lol. The pancakes were warmed for me & very delicious. I preferred the scallion better because I love scallion and even though I love kimchi they were a tad salty. It's located in the lower level in the food hall which had a nice vibe and limited seating. If I'm in town again & in the area I'd get the scallion pancakes again!

Since I was staying in Brooklyn for work, Haenyeo was an easy choice for a date night dinner. We went on a Thursday evening around 8pm. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately without a wait. The restaurant was fairly busy; if you're planning ahead I would consider making a reservation. We started with an order of the Japchae. Then we ordered the Bibimbop with chicken and the Bulgogi. The Japchae was underwhelming. Not a strong flavor profile, leaned sort of bland. The entrees were much better. The rice in the Bibimbop had a really yummy crispy layer. When all mixed together, it's a great melody of flavors and textures. The Bulgogi was equally enjoyable. Definitely recommend the red spicy sauce it comes with. We shared both entrees among 2 people and felt the portions sizes were decent - neither left hungry. The service was okay. We didn't seem to have a dedicated server. It felt like all the wait staff takes care of everyone simultaneously? Everyone was friendly; there was just a long wait for someone to come for our food order. If you're looking for an authentic experience with Korean food, this may be the spot for you.

I wouldn't necessarily venture a long distance for this place, but I live within a 10 minute drive and will definitely be back. Ambiance is casual. I had a reservation for 4 people, but it wasn't too busy so walk ins are probably welcomed. Food: not too many options for ban chan, but what was offered was good and unlimited. I shared the below among 4 people and enjoyed everything and it was plenty of food. -Kimbap: spicy tuna. Comes with 10 hearty pieces. Great to share. -Korean Style Chicken Wings: good crunch and flavor. Not greasy. -Mandu: hard to go wrong with deep fried dumplings. Not greasy. Flavorful. -Hot Stone Bibimbap: with bulgogi. Flavorful and meat wasn't too fatty. -Japchae: bulgogi. Classic! -Beef Kalbi: flavorful, not too fatty.

Very squishy and the sauce was rich with some potatoes and pork mixed in. I really liked the dish and you can't find it all that many places. The hot stone bibimbap was great, I wish the bulgogi had a little more flavor but overall enjoyed it. I also tried the kalbi tang soup, which had a very nice nourishing broth and chunks of meat. If the flavors had been turned up a notch and the meat cooked a little less, it'd be 5 stars.

Seating is a little small, so any parties of 4 or larger probably require a reservation. The food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the Tteokbokki. The dish was purposely cooked to be crispier than what you would normally expect, it was very delicious. The jjapaguri was flavorful and the meat and seafood was great. The main course of crab fried rice was amazing. Poured over a sizzling pan, the waiter made sure we had time to get our phones ready. The dish stirred and seasoned well and had a nice fresh taste. Our dessert was black bean and vanilla, which was refreshing and a generous quantity. Overall, our experience here was amazing and would recommend for anyone wanting high class Korean fair.

In terms of food, I mainly went for the crab fried rice. It was decent but rice were kinda burnt and crab was minimal for the extra $7 weeks added for king crab. The chicken karaage was in small pieces and had whack batter. The wild mushroom pajeon was not good at all.

Happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised! Almost everything we ordered was delicious! Both Korean Fried Chicken orders had good flavor and great for sharing. I rarely see Soy Ginger as an option (usually it's Soy Garlic) but I like the slight sharpness it added to each bite. The Seafood Pancake was crispy, loaded with seafood, and paired nicely with the ponzu. The Slow Loris Roll was incredible! The rice ratio was just right, there was a good variety of fish and it was all fresh, the avocado and sauces added nice creaminess, and torching the roll was the cherry on top. The Spicy Bulgogi Fried Rice with Cheese was super savory, the sunnyside egg was cooked perfectly, and the portion was solid. I didn't care for the cheese and honestly could've done without and not noticed. It did need something to cut through the richness. I did enjoy the Beef Galbi much more! It is brought to the table sizzling and smelling amazing. It's savory, sweet, and smoky. I like that it's paired with kimchi & rice making this is complete meal. All in all, I was impressed with everything here! We were also a large party (7 people) yet everything was served correctly and in a timely fashion. Definitely recommend stopping by!
