SSAM Taco Deal (Top: Korean Fried Chicken x 2, Bottom: Korean BBQ Beef Short Rib Kimchi Taco)

Oh how I love Kimchi Grill, let me count the ways. 1. The wings are always crispy and every flavor is a good choice. 2. I frequently switch between the burritos, bowls, and tacos as my entree and I have yet to be disappointed by any of the 3 options. 3. Their frozen margaritas are way less expensive than a craft cocktail at your favorite eatery but just as delicious. 4. The service is also great. The staff will make substitutions whenever I need them and they've even make recommendations to me when new flavors / items are added to the menu. I LOVE stopping by here whenever I'm in the area and I'm happy to sing their praises whenever someone ask me about my favorite Korean Fried Chicken wings.

The food is pretty small for the prices. We got wings, chimichurri beef bimbimbap rice bowl, chicken burger and fries. Chicken wings were not that fried and the Korean spicy sauce wasn't that spicy. Skip for that one. Chicken burger was ok. They use potato bun bread I think. Fries weren't crispy. The rice bowl had very little rice and meat and that bowl was $18 on uber eats Wouldn't go back for indoor service. I only did takeout Wouldn't recommend for 1st time. The krn fusion food missed the mark for me

Solid food overall, did a take out order from here awhile back. Chicken had a decent flavor but was disappointingly dry. Most of the other food was enjoyable but not very memorable. Didn't care for their house made kimchi. Don't think I'll patronize again as the food wasn't that exceptional despite me being ravenous.

The food has both the taste and textures of exactly what you'd expect of a toddler's, 5 day old re-warmed takeout. Nothing is fresh or flavorful. It's all packaged. The "spicy rice gnocchi" is obviously the frozen kind you get out of a Costco equivalent. I knew it was a bad idea for me when I didn't even smell food cooking when I came in. Yet, against my better judgment I took the chance. SMH. Damn me!

Thanks to Yelp, I found another fantastic local find! Kimchi Grill is wonderful! I was looking for a tasty place in the area and it certainly didn't disappoint. Thankfully, when I got there, seating was available since there were only a few tables and stools. I tried the short rib burrito with kimchi fried rice and kimchi refried beans (i love kimchi!), and it was delicious. The burrito was perfectly wrapped, held in all the ingredients, and the various components were the perfect marriage of flavors! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and look forward to trying the tacos next time!

I've tried this place twice and both times it fell flat. I quite enjoy Korean food but their items don't quite hit the spot for me.

The tacos were very very juicy and runny, so much so the taco fell apart within a few minutes. The dumplings were delicious and the dumpling sauce was nice.

I really really wanted to like this place, and even after reading some "meh" reviews still decided to check it out. Fried chicken wings -- 5 stars. I will be coming back and ordering those specifically. I got the soy/ginger wings and they were delicious and am interested to try the original flavor but chickened out (heh heh) because I was nervous it would be too spicy. They were a little steep -- six bucks for three wings as an add-on when I ordered the burrito. Short rib burrito - 3 stars. While it was very filling, it seemed to only have rice, beans, kimchi, and meat. It just seemed very dense. I chose the short rib after reading reviews but found it very smokey tasting. The flour tortilla was really good. Overall, if I'm ever craving wings I'll absolutely be coming back here. I'd even try and taco or two! Not a huge fan of the burrito. The delivery was fast and I recommend ordering through their website for 5% off, which redirects you to order through ChowNow.

Been coming here almost weekly since the pandemic started for take-out, and I greatly appreciate the plethora of vegan AND gluten-free options. My current favorite is the Ssam burrito with spicy tofu (so many great flavors and I love the combo of textures of the chewy rice paper wrap, crisp lettuce and vegetables inside, and the meaty tofu chunks). The flavors linger even like an hour or two after eating it and my mouth is still happy then. I also really love the Thai Peanut Bowl (with the tofu), and the various vegan tacos. Once in a while, I'll also treat myself to the fried rice gnocchi (fried rice cakes), which are fun in texture. I also like the kimchi bowls they have, but even with the "least spicy" option, it's always just a little too spicy to fully enjoy. They're always pretty speedy in preparing my food - I don't think I've had to wait more than 20-25 minutes after I put my order in online to when it's ready to pick up. Will definitely keep coming here as long as I'm living in the area!

This isn't it. The idea of a Mexican-Korean fusion is interesting and the photos looked great, but the quality and combination of ingredients from the two different cuisines was mediocre at best. My friends and I looked up this place and decided to give it a try after a long morning walk. We were super excited and hungry, but when we started eating, we had mixed feelings about the taste that we couldn't quite put our tongues on. Then, one of us said, "The short ribs taste good by itself, but weird with everything together." And that was exactly it. I ordered the Big Belly Burrito with the Tofu Edamame Falafel upon the hostess's recommendation for a vegetarian option. I got it with the kale-lettuce mix as my base and kimchi refried beans. Unfortunately, the burrito I got was super disproportionate with only a few pieces of falafel and a lot of lettuce. The abundance of lettuce ended up making my burrito soggy and dripping as I took a bite from it each time. On a side note for the kimchi-lovers, the kimchi that they use here is super fresh and not aged at all; offering a bit more of an acidic taste. You can tell it hasn't been fermented for very long. My table also got the kimchi fries to share. I personally didn't like it because it gave off the frozen-fries taste, but my friends said that they preferred the fries over the burritos they ordered so that's another statement in itself.

What has happened to the once coveted Kimchi Grill? I used to go to kimchi grill on Smith street and get the bulgogi bowls, the korean inspired burritos and everything in between. They were the pinnacle of Mexican meets Korean food. Two cuisines that reigned supreme! (okay I'm going a bit nutty here) However my latest trip to the remaining Kimchi Grill location proved to be similar to eating Kimchi. It stunk. We ordered multiple tacos, Fish, beef short rib, a Beef short rib Burrito, some Kimchi Fries, multiple orders of wings, Spicy as well as the soy garlic. Everything was below average, mediocre, sad even. The tacos were probably the best out of the group and the fish shone through. The presentation was a bit blah, no greenery anywhere, no scallion, no cilantro. flavorwise it was all heat, the hot sauce dulled everything else and while good, it really took all the flavor out of the taco. The Burrito was second on the list of good to bad, the short rib seemed more like just beef or steak, although by the time I was eating it, we were home so I couldn't ask if it was short rib or not. Flavors were good but it was super sweet instead of savory which a large burrito should not be. Wings were a major disappointment, soggy, soaked in sauce, no crisp or crunch anywhere. Kimchi Fries were an even bigger disappointment. I remember these being absolutely amazing. this time they were sad sad sad. beans, excessive amounts of kimchi, no meat (was I asked if I wanted meat?! I'm not sure!) sigh.... I think I may just let Kimchi Grill live on in my memories of being amazing versus what they are now. It would take a lot for me to come back here, especially since getting here took a while. There are many many taco spots and fusion mexican joints that do it well, and better and less expensive

    FROZEN Lime Margarita (16oz)

This is a great Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant totally optimized for pandemic times, replete with frozen takeaway margaritas and food that travels incredibly well. Unique dishes like Korean BBQ short rib burrito and Kimchi falafel tacos dot their menu and cater to vegetarians and carnivores alike. This pescatarian even got her seafood fix here with the Krispy fish bowl! Looking for some post-protest fuel, I found Kimchi Grill in my bookmarks collection on Yelp. I ordered online as I was walking to the restaurant and my food was ready by the time I arrived. The frozen margarita was packaged really nicely to avoid any spillage and it quenched the intense thirst I built up from a day of marching. The drink was perfectly strong and sweet-- just the thing I needed on a hot day. My one regret in ordering the Krispy fish bowl is that I got it over a bed of greens which is just an instinct I have from being brainwashed into fearing carbs. This meal would have been many times tastier if I had just decided to indulge a little get it over rice. The fish was nicely seasoned and well portioned and true to their name, the Kimchi was fire (cool kid speak for 'good'). Their extensive menu and $7 frozen margaritas will have me coming back for more.

I ordered the spicy chicken taco, short rib beef taco, and fish taco. all of the meats were dry. The fish was fishy, the short rib was tough, the chicken was the best of the three, but still was not very satisfying. I would not re-order the tacos. The meat is really the cornerstone of every dish/bowl/taco/burrito option here, other than the dumplings. I'm so surprised and disappointed that so many of the meats were so bad. 1-2 stars each. However, the Mandu dumplings were delicious. I got the chicken ones, and like that you can choose to have them prepared steamed or fried. The dipping sauce was excellent too. 5 stars for the dumplings. Edit: the second time I ordered the Mandu dumplings, I still enjoyed them, but they weren't as crispy and I realized how steep $12 for 6 dumplings are. It's not even a full meal's worth, and most restaurants charge $7-9 for 6-8 dumplings in an appetizer. This pricing is expensive and the second time they weren't quite as good. Overall rating this place 2 stars. Would have been 3 stars before the second dumpling experience, and considering price/value.

I went on a Friday evening around 9:30pm. It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

I tried something different than my usual and went with the Adobada Tacos (Pork Al Pastor). The meat itself was spicy and a little rough, which leads me to believe it was maybe old meat. Instead of cubed, the pineapple was shredded which offered a nice touch. Unfortunately the actual taco got soggy by the time I ate it so I just picked out the meats and pineapple. There is plenty of avocado green sauce placed on top, which moving forward, I will request to be on the side to prevent the taco from getting soggy. Overall I probably should just stick to what I know/like so I'm willing to give this location another shot!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.
