Great Tacos! I want to come back and try the other food. And I can because I live around the corner! I ordered takeout through yelp and only took 15 min. It was on time and warm when I picked it up. The short rib was soft but tender, packed with flavor. The kimchi didn't taste like authentic kimchi and it was super salty. The purple cabbage and carrots in the bowl balanced everything out, especially the salty kimchi. Horchata drink was pretty good and refreshing, not too overly sweet. Small seating area with tables that can be connected if you have a group, but it's a tight space. I lastly noticed a deal on 3 tacos or two tacos and one beer for like $10 which was pretty good. Putting aside the fact that kimchi is not my favorite food item out there - I do really like the Kimchi Grill's menu. We got the kimchi fried rice "upgrade" but i couldn't discern any of that flavor because the burrito was 80% beans. - 5pc chicken wings 6/10: flavor was not bad, definitely not spicy though. Crispiness could have used some more work. Chicken pieces were large - kimchi bowl with pork 2/10: everything about this bowl was unsatisfactory. The pork was cold and unflavorful (seared?? Where??? Spicy? Flavors didn't even register). We got the kimchi fried rice "upgrade" here as well and since there wasn't a bombardment of beans we could actually taste it here -- it was just cold rice mixed with a bit of gochujang. This might be my fault because I didn't read too much into it before going, but this definitely feels like a place that tries to market korean food to people that aren't familiar/don't really eat korean food. I got the soy garlic wings and they were okay, not remarkable and didn't really leave an impression, but they were fine. The reason for my 2 stars though is because of the kimchi - it was absolutely, by far the worst kimchi I've ever had in my life. Great little place near the Brooklyn botanic garden. The eatery is small with only three tables and a bench outside, and the aisle is usually filled with a short line of people. Rather than stay in the crowded festival and eat mediocre and expensive festival food, my wife and I decided to come here. Good thing there weren't too many people, there are bunch of tables for you to sit down to eat. The order that I had was ordering 3 tacos for $10, which was a good deal. Each order came with water with a cucumber in it, that was pretty fancy. The beef short rib taco was something I saved for last, it wasn't amazing nor disappointing. But everything else about the restaurant was great. My wife ordered 3 tacos as well and she also enjoyed herself. I really wanted to like this place. The concept makes sense. It is Korean fusion food with Mexican-inspired touches. Unfortunately, it fell short because none of the food embodies the greatness than fusion food can be One major issue with this place is that the menu is too long. Any restaurant with a menu that's too long is already questionable, because no restaurant can be that good at developing and preparing so many different dishes. The array of sauces they had were great. The Kimchi Arancini and the rice cakes were solid, but the portions were palette cleanser sized. I tried the ssam burrito with soy ginger tofu. Wrapping a burrito in rice paper is the smartest idea ever, because it keeps the burrito light and "healthy." The soy ginger tofu was really good by itself, but the burrito as a whole just tasted like overpowering kimchi and rice. My brother felt the same way. My mom got a special brunch option which was the Korean fried chicken and waffle. The waffle was dry, and the dish was subpar. I think if they cleaned up their menu to only the strongest menu items, then I might come back. I think it has a lot of potential so I'm excited to see where it goes! read more

I ordered BBQ Short Rib tacos and Seared Pork tacos with sweet & spicy Korean wings and a side of traditional kimchee/purple kimchee. All of it traveled well and every component packed a flavorful punch and balanced texture. Perfect combo of sweet/spicy/salty. 9/10 only because i would've liked a bit more sauce on the side of the wings and perhaps a hit of citrus with the tacos. But that's just me. The spicy kick in this dish is apt, tofu is cooked perfectly and the rice is delicious.
