Hands down the best coffee and breakfast spot in Gainesville! We've lived in Gainesville for a while and have tried all the new coffee shops that have popped up around the Square recently. While the new spots are fine, we decided to revisit Inman today. In my opinion, they're still the best coffee shop in town. First, the coffee quality is on another level. You can really taste the pride they take in selecting their beans. I ordered the "Fresh Start" latte with coconut milk, and it was easily the best latte I've had in Gainesville. They have the most impressive selection of non-dairy options I've seen. Most places only carry oat or almond, so finding coconut milk was a huge win for me. They also have a massive coffee menu with specialty items I haven't seen elsewhere, like a Breve! My husband got an iced mocha and a panini and absolutely loved both. Second, the food menu is incredible, especially if you have dietary restrictions. I have gluten and dairy sensitivities, and usually, my options are limited. Inman has the biggest gluten-free menu in the area--GF muffins, brownies, and actual GF bread options. I got the avocado toast on gluten-free bread topped with scrambled eggs. The bread was delicious (not cardboard-like at all!), the avocado was fresh, and the eggs were perfect. If you've been distracted by the newer shops, do yourself a favor and go back to Inman. Between the extensive menu, the high-quality coffee, and the dietary options, they are beating the competition by a mile. read more

1 thing i don't like is when places don't give out recommendations, specially if you can tell im not a regular. Anyway, cute lil corner spot. Never really feel welcomed but its whatever, i only come here when i dont have time to drive to a GOOD coffee shop. The coffee and food is really good, the atmosphere is great, The staff however leaves a lot to be desired. I'm a pretty regular here because it's a great place to get some work done. The staff is VERY muted. Today I came in ordered a latte and a muffin, told the waitress "Thank you" no less than 3 times and she said nothing in return. Not a my pleasure, sure or what would normally be the best response a Thank You back. The only words she said to me is "What can I get you?" And "What's your name for the order?" She literally never said anything back when I said Thank you. I thought on a previous visit when the same thing happened, that she might just be having a bad day, but nope...same thing today! This coffee shop is one of the best around in my opinion. The workers always make my matcha perfect, the only problem is the wait time for the food and drinks, but it was worth it to me. Ever since the manager left, the place has gone down hill. I ordered a matcha, mocha, and two ham and cheese sandwiches. The drinks came out fine even though the coffee wasn't completely hot. The food, however, took 40 minutes to come out, keep in mind there is an interview with three people and just me in the shop at this time. The entire time of them making my food, there was too much giggling and talking to each other, face time calls were happening, and folding towels in the middle of them making my sandwich. While still waiting for my food, I can see that they burnt my sandwich and decided to pick it up with tongs and laugh about it. They acted like they weren't on the job. After I finally got my food, my mom's sandwich was dry with none of the condiments that I asked for and my sandwich was the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. I'm very picky with my decaf coffee, but their decaf coffee was a good quality and taste, and their flavorings didn't taste artificial. The coffee was sweet but not overly sweet, and it didn't require any additional sugar. Their brownie was rich and could easily be shared, and they have gluten free options too! I've lived in Gainesville for over 3 years now and still can't understand the appeal of this coffee shop other than its location? The staff are always young looking teens/adults who are rude and don't bother to greet you or much less smile. I've read some past reviews that state there is some racial discrimination. I'm Hispanic myself so I'm not sure if that plays into the rude staff. The coffee itself is terrible. Or maybe the skill level of the people making the coffee is lacking, but they can't even make a simple latte without giving you a very milky drink with a *hint* of coffee. Inman Perk Coffee is quaintly located in town and has perfectly brewed coffee and the best muffins and gluten free crumb cake! They were so moist and sweet - the best I've had a long time! Note, the menu listed on their website (linked in their Yelp profile) is quite outdated. There are actually many more food options in the shop, so definitely worth popping in to double-check before you order. They also have many options for coffee beans to-go, and I am only here visiting, so I'm super excited to get to bring some home for after the holidays! read more

In the area for work. Was super excited to find out there was another Inman perk coffee so of course I gladly went in. I used to go to the one in Virginia highlands all the time when I was in college so it always brings back fond memories. Clearly the people here do not see many minorities. I've gone in everyday this week with the same stares, rude service, frowns, you name it. Pretty sure the chick behind the register was smiling until she looked up and saw me and frowned. They must've never seen an Asian person before in their life. I always tip a lot no matter the awful service. I'm not rude, just order my coffee and maybe a brownie and don't even sit because of all the stares. The back of the place reeks too where the restrooms are. read more

This is quite a cozy place right at the Square. I think the prices are a tad (just a tad) pricier than Starbucks, but I like the homely atmosphere--and less of the crowds. With this location, you will find more of the locals--elderly, business men/women, unique characters. It's an interesting atmosphere. This is definitely a place worth visiting because there's a nice vibe that's much different than the franchises. Take a book to read and enjoy the spacious seating. --There is free WiFi if you're wondering about it.-- Better yet, buy a sweet treat and read it right at the Square. The menu selection here varies from sandwiches, bagels, cakes, teas, coffees, and etc. I fairly enjoyed my mocha frappe. It was most certainly appealing, and it tasted superb as well. Much smaller than it's counterpart in Inman Park, but still a solid coffee shop overall. The Place: Really "loungy" type of place with couches and coffee tables. There are a few tables near the front of the store and a community table near the back of the store. Not a great environment for studying, but doable. Natural light in this place is lacking. There is just a little that trickles in through the front windows. They do have pretty good internet, so you can get your study on if you're looking for a study spot. The Food: The coffee here is pretty good. Every time I have gotten coffee here it has been hot and ready to go. BREAKFAST SANDWICHES: their breakfast sandwiches are really good. I was a little hesitant since they only have egg whites, but turned out to be pretty good. I usually go with the sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant, which is a pretty standard breakfast sandwich size, so perfect for on the go. The coffee is great but it's definitely not a speedy place. If you go to Inman, plan to take some time to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a great place to sit and think, write and read. The employees can be curt and seemingly unfriendly but really they are just trying to provide the best coffee they can. As for the snacks they offer, this is where I've never really been impressed. I don't know if they make it or buy and resell but for the most part I'd recommend going here for the coffee and atmosphere but skip the snacks. read more

Had tea there with a gal pal early on a Saturday morning. First, they have a huge selection of loose leaf teas and I think some bagged tea. The tea menu covers both front and back page off laminated paper and is listed in order of caffeine content.... I am IMPRESSED with this!! Even more exciting was when I asked if I could mix two types, the answer was YES! It took a few minutes but that's okay bc I was there with my friend. Tables are all socially distanced and I love that they don't have music blaring so loudly you can't hear your company talk- I don't even know if music was playing or if it was just regular coffee shop sounds. Street parking is easy on the square and free, if there are no spots you could park at the deck. They have also a ton of coffee drinks and baked goods and quick grabs. Nice. read more

When the grocer asks if you want it double bagged, the rule of thumb is to say yes. The rule applies to other things too, but I can't exactly remember how the saying goes, only that it ends with better safe than sorry... guess I'll just have leave the rest of the narrative up to your imagination. So when the barista asks if you want one or two tea bags, use the rule of thumb and say, two please. I got the Bombay Chai, mainly because I love chai and Bombay was the last name of the the coach for the ducks in the mighty ducks movie (yes, this is seriously how I make decisions some times). The barista asked if I wanted sweetener and I said yes, she said she would put honey in it for me and I said "do you have anything other than honey"... ?After that, anyone watching the convo could have sworn I slapped her in the face. She said they had simple sweetener but she could add honey when she went to steep it, as if anything else was sacrilege. I can take a hint, so I tried the honey! Unlike the massive franchise coffee shops, this location does not have the concentrated tea pre-made in a cup with instructions to just add water and ice. She brewed the tea with honey and put it on ice... The added quality associated with this process is totally worth it for a tea head like myself. I even paid less and the tea was wonderful! Guess there was a reason why the simple sweetener was hidden away in a dark corner... This is definitely a great place to relax, their is plenty of space and the interior is comfortable and quite. They don't have much in the way of lunch options but they did have a breakfast menu and were willing to make brunch for me if I asked. If your in town and thirsty, try this place out! read more

The great coffee and awesome vibe draws an eclectic mix of students, professionals, retirees, artists, business owners, etc. Since Brenau University now has a physical therapy doctoral program and a new physician's assistant graduate program downtown the clientele is trending younger. My favorite brews are Cowboy Java and Peru! I am a long time regular, and I love Inman Perk. It is a true community treasure! read more
