Awesome Venezuelan eatery in Gainesville, GA. We were on the way to Helen, GA and wanted something other than German food. This came up in my search on the way, and we had to check it out. It's nice and festive inside. You order from the front and they bring your food to you. I was happy I could get a patacon with sweet plantains for the perfect sweet and savory. You can pick your protein. Our second order was a cachapa which is a sweet corn pancake folded with tons of cheese and your protein. I loved my patacon better. Really nice ambience and food with real flavors from home, their Tequeños are extremely good and all of their arepas and cachapas are delicious. Their staff is always courteous and willing to help you, if you are not too familiar with Venezuelan food. I was hungry and on my way through Gainesville when I decided to stop and get some Thai food next door, but they were closed so I decided to try Zuarepa. I've had arepas before but these were so good! It's a counter service but they brought it to me. The cashier suggested I try the beef when I asked her which meat she liked the best. It was really good. The arepa is served with a fork and knife because there's no way to pick it up and eat it like a sandwich. There was so much stuff on it! The bread is really good, and the meat too, but my favorite part was the sauce and pico de gallo. It wasn't spicy at all, but just super flavorful. So I saw this place when I was looking for a spot to eat at in Gainesville. The pictures of the food looked really good so I decided to give it a try. I went into the restaurant and it was empty so I was worried but then realized I came in at 4 pm. The place was very clean and roomy with a nice setup and big TV's. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and it was the #1 on the menu. It was pricey for just a sandwich I thought...until I tasted it. It was so delicious!!! Venezuelan food at its finest! The service is fast and helpful, and the ambiance is fun, hip and funky. I cannot speak/read Spanish so ordering can be a bit tricky... I do wish they had English names for their menu items which would make it so much easier to order! But I use the pictures on their electronic menu boards to ask questions and place orders. So much better than any fast-food option... their meals are freshly made to order and are so delicious!!! read more

If you already know and like Venezuelan food then you know this place is good. If you've never tried it - be brave - dive in - you won't regret it. The online menu is only in Spanish but never fear - they have an English one in the restaurant. But I'd suggest you do what I did and ask the very friendly staff to explain what each section is. And if there are members of your group/family who aren't willing to venture outside their comfort zones - never fear - they also have chicken fingers, hamburgers and hot dogs, although done Venezuelan! We've passed this place by so many times on the way to a craft store in the same shopping center, and what a shame. The food was absolutely spectacular. Such an array of flavors that all seem to go together perfectly. I had the "Parillas" dish and will again. Be careful, the plates are large, so come hungry. We didn't know what we were ordering but it turned out really well, I got an Arepa with pork and pork sausage. My wife ordered a Patacone that was beef with sweet plantain. Both were delicious. Their new place in Gainesville is great!! Very spacious and just has a nice vibe to it. The food (as always) is fresh and delicious. Their service is friendly and they always greet you with a smile. I recommend you pay them several visits because you won't be able to try everything you should try on your first visit. I suggest starting off with their AREPA PELUA (#5) so you can understand our countries MAIN food. Appetizers are always a must so make sure you get some tequeños (no.... they are NOT CHEESE STICKS), empanadas and mandocas. Pastelitos are delicious but they don't have them available here yet. After you've had these MUST haves then I suggest you try their PATACON and then their CACHAPA... just trust me, you'll love it. Note of caution.... Venezuelans LOVE cheese. If you're not a cheese person, they do have items without cheese, but just do a double take and make sure I'll continue visiting this spot for many years to come. Awesome spot read more
