Cachapa Pollo MechadaCachapa (half eaten)

Take ya mama, ya kids, ya man, ya whole family because this place was just good! I love arepas and cachapas! My son is in love! I had the cachapa with grilled chicken! Chefs kiss!!! My mouth is watering thinking of it! My son loved the cheese cachapa! One of the best Venezuelan restaurants and a must try! Plenty of parking in this huge shopping center! Really homey, makes me want to visit Venezuela just to eat more food! A must try! I almost didn't get a picture before eating it all!

Loved this place. Don't believe we had had Venezuelan food before but the food we had was very tasty. We loved the Cachapa dishes - shrimp and shredded beef - we had. The service was great and attentive. The atmosphere was welcoming and very friendly. We will definitely go back!

Welcome to the new owners!!! Saturday lunch was delicious! We had the pernil (pork) arepa, shrimp arepas and child's portion of cachapa. All was very good. Enjoyed chicha too. New owners are making this place renewed with excellent

I came here for a lunch with a friend. I've come to this plaza before but hadn't seen this place so was excited to check it out. There's plenty of parking in the lot and Arepita Cafe is tucked into the corner of the plaza. I had a cup of the soup of the day and Arepa con pabellon criollo. The soup was warm and tangy and I loved the little cheese cubes they gave on the side to put in the soup. The arepa was so delicious and toasty and I loved all the sauces they had to put over it (the cilantro and crema sauces were my favorites). I also loved the plantains that came with this arepa - they were so good!! Overall, very cute spot and can't wait to try more.

Very delicious spot but the prices are very hefty. I love arepas but this is definitely a place I rarely go to due to the high prices for small portions. If you want to upgrade your fries to yuca fries, not only is it OVER $2 dollars, but you only get 3 yuca fries! I will definitely be checking out other locations before hitting this spot.

The last time I ate here, my card got overcharged by about $20. I don't remember if they printed me a receipt from their portable card reader but I dont have the receipt anymore but knew exactly what I ate. I called and spoke with the owner. They said they would call their card company and get back to me but never did. I advise to get a copy of your receipt and double check. Food experience 4/5 stars: I've been here twice and have had great service done in. I had the same server both times and really enjoy their capachas $13. They are perfectly chewy and all the sauces with the meat come together very well. The sampler was also good if you want to try a little bit of everything. The arepas are harder to chew than the capachas so. I prefer the corn flavor and texture of the capachas more. We tried a house special too but it was just okay compared to the cachapa. The asado negro was $14 and very simple and light in terms of flavor.

Wow! That was surprisingly delicious. One of our best finds in a long time. The Pabellón Criollo Venezolano tasted like ropa vieja. Honeslty, I might not have noticed it wasn't if I wasn't told. The meat portion was not very big, but with the rice, beans, and maduros, it was filling. The Cachapa Con Carne Mechada maize mixture is very sweet. So good though. We split both. The waitress came back to find us fighting over the last few pieces. Negotiations became fierce. How much pabellón is a fair trade for the last piece of cachapa is still not settled.

Yucca frites, empanadas

Looking for vegan and gluten free restaurant while in the area for a softball tournament. Found this place and couldn't be happier! Staff were so helpful with menu items. Ambience was nice, clean and welcoming. We got the yuca frites, veggie empanada app, the veggie/rice/beans/plantain dish and veggie arepa with fries . We left with full bellies and very satisfied! Prices were reasonable. I wish we lived closer as this would be our regular place!

Tried the yuka fritas and different types of chachapas. This place is definitely worth at least one visit if you've never tasted Venezuelan cuisine. Service - 3.5/5 Food - 3.5/5 Ambience - 3/5

They are all delicious. Their tequeños and pastelitos are great, too. Last night I had the pabellón patacón (shredded beef, black beans & cheese). I didn't realize it also came with coleslaw and ham, and wow...I loved all the flavors!! The ambiance is always great. It was kind of a lot, but that's also due to the menu, which took me awhile to decide on what to eat. Our server was attentive and helpful. We had questions, and he answered to the best of his abilities. He also brought out chips and sauces while we were looking through the menu and described each sauce. We liked the jalapeno and garlic ones the most! The arepa tour was a nice way to try different flavors without having to commit to one choice. The arepas tasted good, though I definitely preferred some over others. If you are not a savory and sweet enjoyer, I would not recommend Pabellon as you can taste the fried plantain in each bite. I liked it, but my friend found it an odd combination. I wasn't the biggest fan of shredded chicken, but that's bc it's typically dry, and while this wasn't super dry, it wasn't exactly as flavorful as the other options. For the main course, the asado negro sounded right up my alley as the arepa version went into detail with how the beef is braised in red wine and sugar cane. It left much to be desired when I ordered the big plate non-arepa version. Just off looks, it wasn't as visually appealing as others' dishes were. Eating it... well, the meat was very, very dry. The sauce was fine, but it didn't help with the dryness of the meat. I most likely ordered wrong since everything else was great. I got quesillo for dessert, which was described as flan, and I found it pretty good. Thicker than I'm used to and not as smooth but with a lovely cinnamon flavor.

Most places around just offer the mini sized ones, so when I came across Los Maracuchos online and saw the more standard sized ones, we set out for an adventure. Driving up, we were a bit confused. We didn't realize at first, but it's actually located inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel. We parked and stepped inside, and walked up to the hostess/waitress at the restaurant. She seated us and showed us where the QR code on the table was to view the menu. We already had an idea as to what we wanted, so we placed the order as soon as she came to check on us. She was very helpful, kind, and so lovely! To drink, I enjoyed a papelón con limón. It was very refreshing, especially on this hot summer day. To eat (because we knew we would want to take things home as well), we ordered 4 orders of tequeños (4 come in 1 order), 3 cheese empanadas, and 1 cheese cachapa. Everything was absolutely delicious! The tequeños were cheesy and exceeded our expectations! Of course the garlic sauce that came with it was divine. The empanadas were probably the crunchiest we've ever had--so great and flavorful! The cachapa was perfectly balanced with savory cheese, sweet corn cake, and tangy nata sauce. So, did we find the best tequeño in the area? YES!!! We will definitely be returning to try more things! Thank you for serving us!

Let me begin by the service - fantastic. Unsure of her name, but she was the only individual working there. When we arrived, the place was empty. The experience felt very personal, she would approach our table, give us suggestions on her favorites (which were spot on) and was just a joy to be around. As for food, we ordered 2 Mandocas (fried plantains w/brown sugar + cheese). Delicious! I ordered a veggie quesadilla which had french fries as an accompaniment. The quesadilla had unique additions you wouldn't normally find in other establishments such as zucchini, squash, corn, carrots, etc. It was delightful and much more filling than looks suggest. My girlfriend ordered the Arepitas - Two white corn patty stuffed with shredded chicken or pork, lettuce, 4 cheese, ketchup and home mayo. She enjoyed it and also said it was pretty filling. For drinks, I ordered venezuelan soda (Frescolita) which is essentially cream soda + bubblegum. Weird, I know but it's fantastic. My girlfriend ordered passionfruit juice which was very refreshing. Our total (pre-tip) ended up being around 33 dollars which is great. We recommend trying this place out in favour of other nearby Venezuelan restaurants in order to have a unique experience and great service.
