Had been hearing a lot about this place since it opened and finally had to try it for myself! The ambiance inside is warm and inviting, and just a little bit fun. We were greeting immediately by the host and sat at our table (had made a reservation for prime dinner time) and then were presented with a food and drink list. Our server, Stephanie, took the time to walk us through the menu and highlighted some of her favorite dishes. I chose the Pisco Sour for my drink and was pleasantly surprised at how well-balanced it was (had to have another later with my dinner as well!). We each selected the Ceviche Clasico for our appetizers which was absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of heat. It was such a filling dish, I probably would have been satisfied with it as my entree. Nevertheless, the short rib in the cilantro sauce was excellent and a great way to round out our first Inka's experience. Such a cool spot! The decor, ambiance, and somehow tasteful neon accents made this a really fun place for a birthday dinner! The renovation of this space is amazing! Loved the new vibe and the music. I wasn't sure what to order but my friend & I shared the ceviche clasico. I don't normally like raw fish but this was so good. This was marinated in lime and very mild in flavor. It came with corn, onions, sweet potato and nuts. If you're going to try the ceviche, make it spicy. That mix of citrus and spice makes this one of the best ceviches I've had. Really wanted to try a Peruvian restaurant, since I am half-Peruvian. I went here alone, with no date and other than the server asking if I'm waiting on anyone; i felt very welcomed and felt completely comfortable being there solo. And the music was the perfect volume. You could easily have a conversation while still maintaining privacy with just your table. I ordered the ceviche Clasico, and of course it was amazing as always, I ate the entire plate, I think the server said the fish was SOL or SOLE? Either way, it was very close to flounder, almost identical in taste. I ordered the Seco plate, and wow! Fall off the bone perfect! I wasn't a huge fan of the beans and rice concoction they had, but the sauce... I may have to tell my dad your sauce is better than his!! I loved the sauce!! I also got Peruvian Old Fashion.. perfect touch! I think the first one I got sat too long, but the second one was on point! I would have gotten a 3rd, but I'm a lightweight. For dessert I tried the suspiro de limena, I've never heard of it (sadly). It was a nice size, I thought maybe small at first, but it was quite sweet, easily 2 person shareable. All in all, I'd definitely take my father here and have him try it out! If I'm back in town I'll be coming here for sure!! I love Peruvian food so when my friend told me about this place after sampling some of their dishes at the taste of Syracuse event I immediately made us a reservation. I don't travel to Syracuse often but this was well worth it. There's plenty of street parking around the restaurant and if you don't feel comfortable with that there's a parking garage within walking distance. We were blown away by the decor when we came in from the beautiful ceilings, nice table settings, and floral touches at every corner. Our waitress Aymara was amazing! She was very patient with us, helped us with menu selections, and gave us updates throughout our meal on cook times and when to place our orders. The menu was detailed and labeled with GF, VEG, V, and NUTS by certain items. Their cocktail menu had tons to choose from and also had mocktails available which was great because my friend doesn't drink alcohol. I ordered the Vinicunca and it was the perfect balance of flavors and great for pictures. For an appetizer we got the Anticuchos with chicken and it was delicious. The sauce it came with made the dish even better with the perfect kick of spice. The entree dishes were much bigger than expected and we had plenty to take home. I ordered the Seco de Asado de Tira and it was some of the best short rib I've had in a while. The sauce it was in was incredible and it fell off the bone. By this time I was ready for a sweet treat and they have a great dessert menu. I was immediately intrigued by their Tres Leches del Día because I love tres leches and for them to have a different flavor every day sounded amazing! But I decided to go with the Tarta de Lima and it hit the spot. The perfect refreshing and citrusy flavor and great texture on the crust. If you love caramel you'll really enjoy the Suspiro Caliente because it was like a caramel molten lava cake with ice cream. We had an incredible experience at Inka's in downtown Syracuse! I love the way this restaurant has breathed new life into the space it took over; it's beautiful inside. The ambiance feels very much like fine dining and it's the perfect spot to bring out of towners, have date night, or get drinks at the bar with friends. We had a reservation prior to going which is necessary if you don't want to wait for a table. The menu is condensed to a good size; enough selections to make a picky eater (me) feel at ease but definitely a lot of unique/exotic choices for the food extroverts of your group. We had a very difficult time choosing between appetizers and entrees, as there were so many appealing selections. We really enjoyed the drinks which were curated to give a cultural experience. Disappointing overall. The flavors were bland and the kitchen execution was poor. Yucca came out under-fried and doughy-- even after sending it back, it was still improperly cooked. The pork belly had no sear despite the menu promising it. The strip steak was tough, under-seasoned, and felt like lower-end choice quality at best, not worth $62, especially with poorly cooked sides: underdone fingerling potatoes and a vegetable medley overloaded with barely sweated red peppers and overly firm squash, all in a flat, overly acidic vinaigrette. The ceviche was just OK, the fish was nearly fresh enough and nearly seasoned enough, but didn't quite get there. Service was also below expectations: not terrible, but inattentive and inconsistent. The one highlight was the cocktails being well-made, big city level, and thoughtfully composed -- but that's where it ended. I've had much better Peruvian food in other cities. I had a Tequilla based cocktail and it was tasty and looked just as good (I've been disappointed lately at other local places with a basic lime being on every cocktail). The food was incredible. The host, server, and other staff were professional, kind, and went above and beyond to ensure we understood the menu. I would have liked some non-alcoholic beverage options other than water presented to me - chicha or Inka cola anyone? But sadly that was not on the menu. We ordered the ceviche clásico which was our favorite (spicy sauce on the side). The papa a la huancaina was a little different than I'm used to but still tasty. The ceviches all tasted the same and had only one type of fish. When asked, they said there should be different seafoods in there. Very underwhelming.
