Pro: clean interior. Con: no street parking, price, waiter stare at you for a monetary tip at check out. Wanted to try this restaurant during to the many good reviews. This restaurant has no street or parking lot so you have to park in the parking garage which is 3 dollar per hour. The restaurant is a bit hard to find since it hidden and the store sign is a bit hard to find. Upon entering we were seated promptly with a window view of the street. For appetizer, we ordered the shrimp & Calamary and for the entree I had the Lomo saltado. The appetizer was good but the price was a bit high in my opinion. The entree came out looking appetizing but taste wise was a bit disappointing. The fries were bland and not crispy. The meat cube sauce was over seasoned and even mix with plain rice it still was over powering. Staff was not very attentive to our needs since they only check on us one time and it was toward the end when we were almost finished. Lastly, when paying for the check the waiter was using one of those hand held device to pay and when the screen as for a tip the waiter was just staring at you which is a bit read in my opinion. I had waiter look away when tip screen appear at other restaurants which is good manner. All in all, had an ok experience here but probably won't be back in the future.

Excellent experience! I ate here with native Peruvian friends and they loved the food! The food was delicious! I had the Pescado a la chorrillana Grilled fish fillet in a red sauce with onions and tomatoes served with rice side. Perfectly seasoned and so healthy. My friends had the ceviche and said it was excellent. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The place was so modern and clean. The music was average loudness but on the slightly quiet side, and it made me want to dance. I am just visiting the area but when I am back in town, I will definitely return here!

They really make you feel at home here. The service is so nice and friendly. The absolute star of the show is the seafood paella, my sister got it and I wish I did. That said my steak was also so delicious.

My partner and I had lunch here and were greatly pleased. The food was to die for, he had the All-Three Chaufa and I had the Linguini Verde con Bistec. Both had serving sizes that were more than enough for the both of us. Not only that, but it was truly incredible. Personally, mine had the best pesto I've ever had (sorry Grandma)! We also had the Jack and Coke and also the Passion Sour. The drinks were well made and came out quickly. Our only complaint was that our server, whom we did not get the name of unfortunately, was very slow to come back after our meal and give us our check. The restaurant only had two other small tables and as a service industry worker myself I would've totally understood if they were busy. We ended up having to go to her while she was sitting at a table and ask for the check. Otherwise she was very sweet. All in all I would 100% recommend this spot and would totally come back.

Located in a bustling part of town adjacent to the UVA campus. Passing through Charlottesville leaving Richmond and a soccer tournament. Actually excited enough to make reservations to be sure we ate here, as perhaps surprisingly, we are quite familiar with Peruvian food. It's even a more casual spot, brown laminate tables, than expected but really is fine. Ordered Pisco Sours, a primary drink from Peru and not something common in the States. Sadly after ordering we were informed they were out of Pisco. So we went with other drinks. Unfortunately they didn't arrive until we'll after dinner was served. In fact, the ceviche mixto appetizer came out with dinner. So we received all food at once but no drinks. The food is good. The service is uneven. Look, it's a casual restaurant so service is what it is, but this will quickly go to $30 per head before tip so some level of expectation is warranted. Ceviche mixto is tasty. Calamari, shrimp, clams and more. Lomo Saltado is delicious as well. The fries were stale though. Not freshly cooked. I'd still go but lower my expectations. We skipped dessert for fear of getting trapped waits again for another 15 minutes to order.

I heard great reviews about this place from some friends and decided to visit before graduating. The food was amazing and it wasn't as heavy as I expected given the amount. The sauce was creamy and delicious. I came here with a couple of friends and we all enjoyed our meal!

I got the classic ceviche, a tangy fish filled dish. The cuts of fish were quite large, but the marinade was salty and delicious. Could definitely taste a lot of onion and lemon. The hominy corn was a pleasant surprise, and was my first time trying it! This place is definitely on the pricey side, but worth a try. Although I came in a large group, the waiter was extremely accommodating and split everyone's bill. Great service and good food!

My go-to restaurant on the corner! Honestly don't think you can go wrong ordering here - everything is delicious! I've been here countless times and loved every single dish I tried. The fried yucca appetizer reminded me of fried mantou with condensed milk which was very interesting. My theory is that it has something to do with the dipping sauce? The arroz con Mariscos is delicious. I especially loved the pickled onions. I've ordered the tacu tacu con Lomo and it's very consistent in taste and quality. The meat is nice and tender and I love the sauce. It's my go to dish here. The service is good and you're seated as soon as you walk in. Not sure why this place isn't more popular since the food is amazing.

We ordered take out and it was very good! The linguine verde con bistec was delicious! It's a pesto sauce with a large piece of beef-the portion was also a great size. The Tacu Tacu Con Lomo was also very good, the beef was very tender and the sauce was delicious. Can't wait to return!

The food here is incredibly fresh and flavorful although I'd go for the drinks alone. I love that they serve complimentary maíz cancha with your meal.

My friend wanna try raw fish and beef heart. We got them both! Tasty and plenty. They also have this interesting fried corn.

The first time I came across them was during the Saturday morning Downtown Charlottesville City Market (pre-covid). I've also encountered them at Charlottesville Festival of Cultures (pre-covid) and most recently at the Autumn Nights Thursday Night Market (which ended in October *SAD*).  We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, lomo saltado and tried a few empanadas (the chicken empanada & the beef, egg & olive empanada. Amidst everything eaten, the pulled pork sandwich truly stole the show! The sandwich included a heap of Wandering River Farm pork shoulder with pickled red onions and jalapenos on a light, fluffy bun. The meat wasn't thinly pulled like I'be seen in many American based pulled pork sandwiches, but more broken into small, juicy tenderized bite size morsels, lathered in an amazing creamy spicy sauce and then piled on top of the buns - overflowing onto the platter with a side of fried sweet potatoes. The fried sweet potatoes were also pretty good - they kept their shape and were actually fried in thin circular slices. Unfortunately, by the time we demolished the pulled pork sandwiches, they had lost some of their fresh crunch and thus were a bit softer than expected, but nonetheless the fried sweet potatoes were a good side dish to the sandwich! The lomo saltado was stir fried beef tenderloin with onions and tomatoes, served with a side of papas fritas (hand cut potato fries) and white rice. This dish was prepared on the spot - cooked over an open stove and thus the flavors were super fresh and worth the wait~ The empanadas had thicker, doughier shells (which I really appreciated) and were filled to the brim with meat. Not super spicy but the sauces that came with them really gave the flavor an extra

The Sausage gravy was a white, almost flavorless gravy. You could see bits of sausage in the gravy, but it sure did not taste like anything. It was very underseasoned. I added salt, pepper, and hot sauce to impart some flavor to it. The eggs, corned beef hash, and hashbrowns were cooked properly. The corned beef hash is of the canned variety, but it was crisped up nicely. And the hash browns were crispy. I added a bit of salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns, and hot sauce on the corned beef hash. If I had not tried the Sausage gravy and biscuits - this would have been a 4 or 5 star review. My server asked me during checkout how everything was. I articulated my experience with the Sausage gravy. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #4CsRestaurant

I have now been to Cuban Burger twice almost three times. The third time we weren't offered a table as my daughter and I had 7 Brew drink in our hand so we didn't have lunch there that day. I will say that I love the flavors of Cuban. Everything I have tried has here been not but amazing. I loved their guava mint gingerale. Their Yuca with green sauce is amazing, along with the empanadas. The burgers and plantains are on point. I would love a cuban coffee added to the menu for after my meal. Here is why this review isn't getting five stars from me. The guy at the door is a little non-welcoming to put it nicely. I noticed it twice. He seems to make assumptions of why you are there. The first time was Sip and Stroll weekend when my husband and I entered the building and told us we should order from the window outside (assuming we were there for Sip and Stroll which we were not) when we were there for lunch. The second time I noticed was when my daughter and I were not offered a table as we had cups in our hands from 7Brew. He assumed we were there to pick up. Then after we said okay and turned to leave he is even yelling at us that there on signs on the door that state that (which we did not notice) so we couldn't bring them in. I totally get rules but I just feel he could have come across less harsh and perhaps we would have put them in the car and come back in for lunch. That day we decided to try some place different. I will say my server both times has been great though. The food has been great. I would like to come back but I am a little put off by the host guy. Not sure if we will try a new restaurant next time we are in town or we will give Cuban Burger a shot again.

Although the food actually tasted good the proportions are so atrocious I am giving them 2 stars bc this is just ridiculous. Their burritos are MASSIVE (think old school chipotle) and the sauce on it tastes great. Here are the problems: the amount of rice is criminal. Literally 3/4 of the burrito is JUST rice. Genuinely the food tastes good so they could really scale back a lot on the size and just do a smaller burrito for the same price and just make the proportions make no sense. I don't want to bite into straight rice in a tortilla. The "street corn" was plain corn kernels and the "fajita veggies" were just uncooked bell pepper strips. Not my fav. The platanos black beans rice and chicken all taste good. Another issue is they charge about $4 EXTRA dollars in the burrito for protein. Why not just make the base price inclusive of the meat? Also if I'm paying an extra $4 for meat i expect a decent portion of it since I'm paying for it separately. Again - 3/4 of the burrito was rice and the meat was nowhere to be found. Both burritos had this issue so it was not a one off issue, this is how they're making them. The arepa balls we ordered came with 3. Another ripoff. Food tastes fine but for what you pay for you get 3 billion pounds of rice stuffed into a tortilla with 2 pieces of chicken. The food tastes good but I'm sorry the rice issue is excessive. Would not order from here unless this gets fixed.
