I looked on Yelp to find a security camera installer and tried to message them on here because I saw the 5-star rating. What I didn't know was that Yelp sent my message out to everyone in this category. I was receiving messages from different places & got confused. My system is working; I just changed internet providers, so I couldn't see my cameras on the phone app. The original installer ignored my calls and texts for well over 6 months, finally answered to make an appt, only to be a no-show. He said his system was made so that only HE could work on the DVR & change settings. I called a 2nd company who came out & told me I should get a new DVR since I didn't have a password to get in. I was to get a bid. A whole week passed by. They said they didn't have my number. When I called, they didn't have the bid yet either. The 2nd week goes by with no call, I gave up and sent the message out on Yelp. A 3rd company messaged me & said they could get into the system for $250, but by then, the messages from various companies started to scare me. It seemed creepy that my message, sent to one company, ended up going to several. A 4th company came out, met with me, and again said I should order a nicer DVR for future expansion. $1700. My cameras are working well, though. I don't need an upgrade. He seemed nice and knowledgeable (an ex-cop, he said). I told him I was scheduled to meet with one more company, Infinity, today at noon. Needless to say, I was quite unhappy with security camera installers at this point. They don't follow through. Ok, so Infinity was late got the appt; I gave him the benefit of the doubt. It's been busy & hot, over 100 degrees all week. I have to say, though, I'm glad I gave him a chance. He first went through the menu of the DVR, then he went through my phone app, and was able to configure the router and the DVR. It took very little time, he didn't have to "call me back" (I hate that because they never do). I didn't have to wait for the huge quote for equipment I didn't want or need. He fixed it right away. His price was very reasonable. I saved well over &1000 & I can now watch the cameras once again. I waited for the original installer a good 8 months; I honestly thought he must have passed away, I was impressed with Roman & so happy he knew what he was doing. I forgave him for being late (he said it had been busy & he forgot). Everyone was trying to sell me a new system when I didn't need it. I'm happy that Roman knew exactly what he was doing and got the job done at a fraction of what it would have/could have cost. I told him he redeemed himself today & that I would recommend him again. read more
