I came here with my food buddy back in July. We were both starving and we didn't want to drive far for food. She selected this location which is close to her work place. We got here after lunch to avoid the lunch rush. This spot is somewhat small with inside and outside seating. Delicious authentic Thai food with generous portions. Came in because I was craving for some hot soup, but some how I ended up with the green curry w duck. It was $16 for the curry and +5 for the duck. The curry was far on the sweet side, and salty at the same time. It didn't tasted special or anything, it was actually not good. It came with tomato, cucumber, green beans, and some eggplant, which tasted like it was deep fried before they added in the curry. The duck was lean, and salty. There was nothing interesting about this dish at this place at all, it was just not good, but I did not waste the food. I thought it was going to be a slow night at first, and they only have 1 server/busser and 1 hostest/server, but no, the place was full after 9:30pm even though they were closing at 10pm. The service: I waited about 30 minutes for my food, but the thing that annoyed was actually when the hostess brought the curry bowl out, with the side of rice on a small ass plate, and a serving spoon, I was like how how am I supposed to eat this watery curry with a big ass serving spoon, and obviously that small plate of rice is going to be a mess, seriously no common sense here at all. There was no napkins or even a folk, and it an Asian restaurant so where are the chopsticks? Service was lacking common sense, but they did got me what I asked for afterward, and the servers were really tried to be nice/polite. My bill came at 23 + tip and the total was 26 for the Americanized shit. I love finding a little spot, completely by accident and right under my nose. Happened today at Infinite Thai Eatery. Wow. I was heading to a movie and wanted to grab a quick bite. Nearly walked past -- this spot is on the corner but you need to back up and go in through a shared entry way off the sidewalk. The small venue was open and inviting, brightly painted and simple decor. Really good vibe. Because I had a date with a feature film down the street, I went light -- Eggplant with Chicken and Thai Fried Rice. I know... Fried Rice light?! Yes. With bits of egg and fresh veggies, fluffy and warm. The Eggplant was cooked perfectly, soft flesh in thin purple skin, cut at just the right angle and seasoned with the perfect kick of pepper. I came here to grab lunch and work when I realized the local coffee shop I'd chosen is anti-wifi, but I'd had Infinite Thai Eatery bookmarked for quite some time. The reviews look excellent, the food looks gorgeous, and the prices seem reasonable... the only slight issue for me was finding the correct door to enter in on my first visit, during late lunch time, because it was empty and I wasn't sure if they were even open... but they were. Lucky me! I sat in a small table in the corner and was given a regular menu and a lunch special menu that runs until 4pm and is only $10 for a full and gorgeous plate AND you can add an appetizer choice for $3 more if you'd like. Quite the deal. The portion was perfect for making this a full meal that feels like a steal. I got the Spicy Basil Dish with prawns (only $1 to add prawns and there were like 4 or 5 shrimp in there). The rice was perfect, even the side salad was delightful, and the ingredients in the spicy basil were so fresh and colorful. My Beau and I visited Infinite Thia this morning as soon as it opened. For drinks lemonade and Thia ice tea, both were refreshing and delicious. First on the menu we had Chicken Satay with peanut sauce great flavor. Second we had the dancing prawns with white rice. The prawns were cooked perfectly and the seasonings where on point, the broccoli was just right for us. The service was great, very friendly we had a table by the door and there was a wonderful breeze. We will visit soon. read more

Went here for a late night dinner. Larb Gai salad was delicious $9. I got it medium spicy. Next time I'll go full on w/the spice. Beef Noodle Soup was OK. The broth wasn't very rich but the beef was very tender & cooked nicely in the hot broth. The Thai Custard w/Black sticky was super yummy & sweet. A nice change from mango w/sticky rice. Thai is my favorite food, and Infinite Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Bay Area! They have awesome vegan options that don't skimp on flavor or fresh veggies. Pumpkin curry, pad kee mao, and veggie delight (+ tofu) are all soooo delicious I could honestly eat them every day. Prices are reasonable. In a world of mediocre Thai food, Infinite Thai stands out. They have a wide-ranging menu with all the usual favorites, but also feature items that are a bit off the beaten path. Admittedly, we usually end up ordering the same stuff everyone else does, but I like option to try at least one random thing every time. On the tried-and-true front, the mango salad is excellent, the pad thai is good enough, and I strangely can't get enough of the Himapan chicken and pineapple fried rice. The curries are good too. This is my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Today, I had grilled asparagus salad with shrimp. Presentation was absolutely artistic and it delighted my palate. I got one of my favorite curries to take home, a green curry with extra veggies and chicken with a side of their special brown jasmine/red rice combination. I've had the green curry dish elsewhere and none compares to theirs. It's a bit on the spicy side, which I like. If you like it milder say so. The owner Joe is very friendly and eager to please. He has managed to keep prices reasonable despite his costs going up. Isn't "Infinite" a rather ambitious concept for a Thai restaurant? "Authentic", sure. "Tasty", maybe. But "Infinite" sounds like something that happens when you get sucked into a black hole and the ghost of George Clooney shows up to reprimand you for wimping out and not going for the extra spicy items on the menu. Once upon a time, there was a modest bagel shop on this corner, and I should know since I lived a block away. Now I barely recognize Piedmont Avenue anymore. OK, that's an overstatement, but this place, I don't recognize. Now I've been to Messob, the Ethiopian eatery next door before and liked it a lot. This spot feels even smaller, in fact, I'd be surprised if they could accommodate more than twenty diners at a time, but the food delighted me.Temptations abound and not necessarily the predictable ones either. There were curry plates but unusual variations like Lychee Duck and five different kinds of Coconut Curry including Peanut Massaman. I decided to try the $18 Udon Pad Thai, which took the classic Thai dish and plied it with Japanese udon noodles. The standard accessories were part of the mix - egg, bean sprouts, tofu, peanuts, and green onion - but also included were a marine medley of scallops, prawns, calamari and mussels (photo: http://bit.ly/1J1HURw). It was hot and quite delicious . I only noticed afterward that the seafood meant a six-dollar premium over the regular version. Something sweet appealed to me after all the noodles, and I went for the $6 Black Sticky Rice with Thai Custard. When it did, it was tasty-sweet although even I thought it was too big a portion for a normal appetite. Have you ever had the experience where your first bite took you to foodie heaven? And every subsequent bite was so fulfilling that you're feverishly planning your next trip, even though the eatery in question is almost 30 miles away? That's what happened to me at Infinite Thai Eatery yesterday. It all started innocuously enough. I was meeting a good friend for lunch after a couple of years. Knowing what a foodie I am, she picked Infinite Thai Eatery on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, which I didn't object to as it had decent reviews on Yelp. After finding parking a few blocks away, I arrived at the Eatery a few minutes early to find my friend already seated. The restaurant is on the small side, but has comfortable seating and large windows overlooking both Piedmont Avenue and John Street. Half an hour flew by before we placed our order, so busy were we catching up on each other's lives. The wait staff did not once push us into placing an order - thank you! We both ordered the $12 'lunch with appetizer' specials - my friend (a regular) going for her usual Yellow Curry with Brown Rice and crispy vegetable spring roll appetizer. I took a bit longer to order, finally settling on the Barbecue Pork with Brown Rice for my main course. Not feeling the spring rolls, I looked at the other appetizer choices, which were fried tofu and chicken satay. Having already ordered a meat entrée, I was leaning towards the tofu, but I asked the friendly-looking waitress what she'd pick. She beamed and replied "Our Chicken Satay is the best!" with such enthusiasm that I did not have the heart to disappoint her! When our food arrived, we were in the middle of animated conversation. I took the obligatory Yelp review pictures and then absent-mindedly took a bite of the chicken appetizer, not even bothering to dip it in the satay sauce. And froze in delighted surprise - because it was absolutely incredible - melt-in-your-mouth tender, and lightly seasoned with a subtle spice rub. When I dipped it into the satay sauce for my second bite, I was transported to an even higher level of ecstasy. "This is why the world loves chicken satay," I thought, as I used up the entire portion of satay sauce for my first chicken skewer and shamelessly asked for another, savoring every satay-laden bite of the second skewer. Chicken satay done, I turned my attention to the barbecue pork. This was more well done than the chicken but also very tasty, though I didn't care for the watery chili sauce it was served with. The brown rice was properly cooked and quite a generous portion, so I didn't mind paying a dollar extra for it. We wrapped up our meals and talked for a long while afterward, again without feeling rushed in any way. Then it was time to say goodbye and go our separate ways. As I walked back towards the car, I couldn't stop thinking about what a wonderful meal I'd just had, including the best chicken satay ever. Friendly neighborhood joint with terrific food. Just moved into the area so I was looking for a regular place for when I need a bit of take out luv. This place rocks hard. Get the spicy beef salad that is addicting. The beef is so tender and flavorful. the mint adds just the right refreshing touch.. I'm not usually a fan of iceberg lettuce but the crunch and sweetness it adds is delish Don't sleep on the bbq pork either. Tender marinated pork slices iaccompanied by a spicy pepper sauce. She finally gave in. Service was good. Food was average. "Spicy Basil" needed flavor. I literally added peanut sauce, jalapeños, and chili powder to my dish. And it only came with three prawns. The prawns were cooked perfectly, but they were lacking in flavor. I've had better. Portion sizes are reasonable nevertheless. The dish came with a salad that had really good dressing on it. Ran into Infinite Thai Eatery by mistake when passing by to the theater. It looked interesting so we yelped it up and decided to give it a try. We loved the prices for the dishes which sold us since the prices for Thai food have increased all of the sudden. We were greeted and immediately seated. Our host and server checked up on us regularly to make sure everything was good and to replenish our water. We enjoyed the interior and suited the atmosphere very well. The food: We ordered the Nuer Nam Tok salad, Khao Soi, and Tom Yum Noodle. The Nuer Nam Tok is like a grilled beef larp (laab). The veggies were fresh and had a great crisp and crunch with every bite. The grilled beef had excellent flavor and cooked well. The overall flavors were pretty authentic filled with freshness and umami from the fish sauce. The beef is cut a little thick and some pieces can be a bit chewy but other than that, we loved the dish. The Khao Soi was packed full of flavors. This isn't your Lao or Mien version of Khao Soi but, the northern part of Thailand's version made with yellow curry. The soup is on the sweet side but not as sweet as other restaurants I've been to (personally prefer a red curry based broth but that's just my personal preference). The crispy nest of egg noodles with fried shallots tangled in the nest soaks up the curry well and elevates the flavors of the curry really well with the fried shallots, lime, and cilantro. Tom Yum Noodle was packed full of flavors. Not too salty and not too sour. My partner added some crushed peppers to kick up the heat to the dish. The noodles were a little overcooked and broke easily. The fishballs and shrimp were cooked perfectly. But we really loved the flavor for this dish. End food review The cooks in the back area are all Thai and every dish is made fresh upon ordering. The staff is friendly and the establishment is clean. The prices are well beyond reasonable. Great tasting food and I will definitely be back to try out more dishes. Infinite Thai Eater has also been featured as a Michelin spotlight for 2016 and 2017. read more

Some included the Green Curry, Spicy Basil with Grouch Chicken and Himmaparn Chicken, Prawns...OMG! My taste buds are getting all excited and worked up again, ARGHH! What makes this Thai place unique is that they offer wine and beer here! Yesss!! They have a wonderful wine and beer selection (I encourage you to see for yourself). I was totally sold after I seen that! So, I can enjoy a good Thai mean with a glass of wine in my hand? OMG, Count me in, please! My girlfriend and I ordered: Pineapple Fried Rice, Angel Wings, 2 Thai Iced Teas and a soup. The moral of the story? EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The Thai Teas came with a cute little rose design that was created by the paper on the straw, the angel wings were to die for and was freshly cooked. The Pineapple Rice came out shortly after and was PERFECT! I can't find anything wrong with this restaurant and wish that I would have known about this place sooner. I knew we had made the right choice while waiting outside for a table and a group of regulars walked out and exclaimed, "their food is delicious!". They were right! We only had to wait about 15 minutes for a 7 person table at 8pm on a Saturday. We ordered 6 dishes for 7 people and it was an appropriate amount. Nothing special about it. --Vegetarian pad kee mow: Also super-bland. Nothing really drunken or saucy; just a bland pile of noodles with some veggies. --Green curry: This definitely had some spice so was the best of the bunch. Really great food! I got a tofu pad Thai, veggie spring rolls and a Thai iced Thai. Let's start with the Thai Iced Tea. Usually for me, most Thai restaurants out too much condensed milk and barely any ice. Not here; the ratio of tea to condensed milk to ice was perfect! The spring rolls are a tad doughy like another reviewer mentioned, but I really enjoyed the taste and crispness of the roll. The Pad Thai had a great flavor, I just wish tofu had been fried and that it was a little bit saucier. I honestly can't say enough good about this business. The service is outstanding, 100% of the time, conversations with staff are always warm, welcoming and interesting. Intend to return for Praram Tofu and Anchor Steam beer! (4/5 green stars) The two first things that will probably hit you when you walk into Infinite Thai are that the place is cheerfully decorated and the staff members are very friendly and helpful. We shared a Praram tofu ($13), Pad See Ew (with tofu - $11), and also had a green tea ($2) and Anchor Steam beer ($4). All beer was $4 - all bottled I believe but some trusty choices (besides the Anchor) like Fat Tire, Launitas IPA, and Trumer. It was nice to have a simple glass of Anchor Steam for a change - I'd forgotten how tasty it is - and at a good price too! The praram tofu was perhaps the best example of this dish that I've had - the sauce had an interesting mix of spice and sweetness - way better than some peanut sauces that seem like little more than diluted peanut butter. The pad see ew had more veggies compared to most versions of this dish that I've had - a healthier version of this dish (but could have done with a bit more sauce). I also appreciate that it costs more to add veggies rather than serving a plate that's 95% noodles. Definitely intend to return. I'm giving them 4/5 "green stars" for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: * Like most Thai restaurants they have a good number of vegetarian or vegan dishes. * They do have an "organic veggie" dinner special on the menu. * Other than that dish they don't provide info on sourcing of any ingredients. * For example, I'd like to know if the tofu is organic as I don't want to support soy grown from neonic-coated seeds (see greenstarsproject for more details on this). * All beers are fairly local except (CA or CO) except for the one Thai beer (Singha). * Most of the beer is from breweries that are doing quite well in terms of environmental impact (e.g., New Belgium). * As far as I remember, food to go was packaged in a cardboard box but in a plastic bag (ditch the bags, folks!). * Overall, it looks like they are doing a decent job but would like to see more info on website & menu - they are just getting going so I hope to hear more in the future : ) Interested in writing green star reviews? The food here was delicious. the flavors were subtle but deep. We had the Masaman with sticky rice, the sticky rice was very sticky but it was a fun texture. We also got the BBQ pork which was amazing by its self, by when I mixed in with a little rice and the Masman sauce it took it to a whole new level. We also got the drunken noodles which had a great flavor, I only wish the noodles didn't stick together. You're not going to get a punch of flavors here but the food is very delicious and well thought out. Don't come here expecting the same thing you've had other places. A good friend recommended this place, and I decided to try it with her and her husband. I definitely trust their taste buds. Cute place, a bit small, so I can see how it would fill up fast. Nice decor. Contemporary I guess you would say. We were seated by the windows which offered a great view to people watch. I pretty much had my friend and her husband order for us as they know I eat just about anything. As the food came out it looked good and smelled good. OMG, every dish was full of awesome flavor.
