But other restaurants on piedmont ave were closed or too busy, so we decided to try something new. Worst Thai food ever. Completely inauthentic. No spice and little flavor. Huge amount of overcooked carrots covering everything keeps things cheap. We got the himapan, with beef and cashew nuts. It's supposed to be medium hit and sweet with dried chilies, onions, and bell peppers. It was bland and sweet, only a few cashiers, no chilies, overcooked vegetables and drowned in overcooked carrots. Happened to be walking by this spot that shares a building front with an Ethiopian restaurant next door. Very chill atmosphere, shaded outside seating and ample inside seating also available. The staff was nice, attentive and quick. The food was also served very quick. They even packaged up our leftovers for us which if always appreciated. We had tofu Pad Thai which was really good. I am picky about my Pad Thai and I approved of this one. It was flavorful without being inauthentic or All stuck together. The fried tofu and vegetables were also perfect portions. The yellow curry with tofu was also great, flavorful and not too spicy because we asked for non spicy. Finally the mango sticky rice was bomb. It was not overly drenched in condensed milk and neither was the black sticky rice. We took the dessert to go because we ran short on time (had some where to be) and the entire dessert kept perfectly, the mango didn't turn brown or gross, it was all fresh and perfect. I got to try takeout from this place recently. As it was a group order, I tried mostly the vegetarian dishes - summer rolls, veggie delight, pad see ew with tofu and vegetables - but also tried a little of their yellow curry and the duck fried rice. Summer rolls: Meh. They taste very bland and unseasoned, basically like eating a bunch of raw vegetables, if you don't put any sort of sauce or garnish on it (I had to avoid the peanut dipping sauce that came with it since I'm allergic). Veggie delight: This was decent, the garlic sauce adds some flavor so that the vegetables themselves aren't too bitter. Had a lot of broccoli, carrot slices, and cabbage. Pad see ew: This was yummy, mostly more on the sweet and savory side and not salty as they went light on the sauce. Yellow curry: This was good, very flavorful. Definitely a good accompaniment to any plain carbs. Duck fried rice: Very plain and mild in flavor, so it was underwhelming. It really could've used more spices, sauce, etc. Tasted more like Chinese style fried rice. Overall, was torn between rating this a 3 or 4 since I found the summer rolls and fried rice disappointing, the veggie delight was okay, and the curry and pad see ew were pretty good. Back in the day when the Emeryville Public Market was not fancy like it is today, I got addicted to pad see ew. The flavors were fresh, you could see them making it to order. Along with a Thai iced tea, I was in heaven. Since the re-do of the market, there hasn't been any Thai food that has met my expectations. So with Infinite Thai around the corner from my parent's house, we had to give it a try. It's good but can never be the same as back in the day. Don't you hate it when you are spoiled with something amazing and try elsewhere and they can't compare? How do I move on? Today I added chicken to the order and it's fine. Chicken is not dry, noodles are soft and carrots are cutely cut. Could have used more veggies as the filler if they are cutting back on the other ingredients. We tried out Infinite after moving away from the Piedmont neighborhood about 10 years ago. We were so glad to see that Infinite and Joe are still around! We ordered the Kao Soi and the Gai Yang lunch special. The Kao Soi was creamy and flavorful with just a hint of heat to balance out the dish. The chicken in the Gai Yang was moist and has enough flavor even without the sweet chili sauce. The spring roll was nice and crispy. Joe was as friendly as ever. We will definitely come visit more often since moving back to the east bay. It's at the far end of Piedmont Avenue, don't miss giving Infinite a try and say hi to Joe! read more

This was a great meal. Went with friends. We ordered 3 entrees and shared them family style. I was sure the massaman curry would be my favorite but it wasn't. Delicious Thai food with great service! My favorites are their angel wings, pad Thai with seafood, pumpkin curry, and pineapple fried rice. The wings are fried crispy and coated with a delicious sweet and savory sauce, the pad Thai is not too sweet and has a nice tang to it, the pumpkin curry has a generous amount of veggies and the pineapple fried rice is stir fried perfectly that's not too dry nor wet. Accidentally found this gem for lunch! I normally don't like Thai food, but what I ordered today has definitely changed my mind. I ordered the moo yang from the lunch menu which is marinated bbq pork. Omg!!!! Cooked to perfection. So tender and flavors exploded in my mouth. It came with white rice and salad with miso dressing. Miso dressing was so good! I will have to request more of that on the side next time. It came with two dipping sauce. One was sweet chili and the other tasted like a fish sauce with chopped up jalapeños. Both very delicious!! Also order a side of egg rolls. So happy to find a place where I was pleasantly surprised on how great everything tasted. I'm curious to try other things, but this will definitely be a must have every time I return. Ambiance is clean and classy with very accommodating and kind servers. My go-to options are the Angel wings, Tom Kha soup, the curries, and eggplant chicken basil. The Angel wings are so delicious - I love the signature Thai sweet and savory flavors, wings were cooked nicely and the crispy fried basil leaves are a tasty flavor element. Although it's an appetizer, I would usually eat it as a meal with their jasmine rice if I am by myself. The dining area is small but cozy, with dim lighting and a chatty vibe just perfect for a date. There is also seating outside but it was too cold when I went for dinner. The smells tempted me as I decided what to order, I knew it was going to be good. I chose the papaya salad and pad Thai noodles. The salad was fresh and crunchy, but not as spicy as I thought a medium spice request would be. Nonetheless the entire dish was devoured just in time to be smitten by the noodle dish. Many large shrimp adorned the top of the pile of rice noodles, with bean sprouts, lime, and peanut crumbles rested on the side. Everything about this dinner experience was five starts and exactly what I was looking for. When I saw my beloved Yelp friend Victor G. Had given this place five stars I knew I had to go there. He doesn't hand out five stars very often. Infinite Thai is one of the best Thai food places in the Bay Area. It's open from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and located on Piedmont Ave. In Oakland. We got food to go. I got the Curry Puffs and Prawn Rolls for appetizers. The Curry Puffs were the best ones I have ever had. The crust was flakey and inside was a creamy yellow curry. They were divine. I also got Khao Soi which was lighter than most with lots of chicken pieces bathed in a yellow curry with egg noodles and fried egg noodles. I had the crab fried rice which had an entire contents of a cracked crab On top of a bed of fried rice. This was also heavenly. Nice to know how much crab you are working with. Then we had the Himapan which is a stir fry of fried chicken pieces, fried cashews, bell peppers, carrots in a dark curry paste. It was milder than I had expected but had a sambal included to raise the spice level from farang to spicy farang. Everything was to die for. We appreciate such well presented, delicious Thai food. What a nice little surprise nestled in the heart of the Piedmont district! I'm pretty picky when it comes to Thai food, but I must say that I was very pleased with Infinite Thai Eatery. It definitely boasts an 'infinite" amount of delicious Thai spices and flavor! It was one of those nights where I had been drinking it up at the Kona Club with Porsche C. I had a light meal of sushi before I went to the bar, but if you know me... I can eat... at just about ANY time. Porsche was hungry, so we decided to walk down the street to find a taco truck... that we unfortunately never found. On the way there, we spotted this place and an Ethiopian option right next door. I'm a lover of both Ethiopian and Thai, but Porsche wanted Thai food that evening, so I complied. When I walked in, I instantly noticed how homey it felt inside! The ambience was very calming and we were greeted and sat right away. The olive painted walls and cherry wood furniture played very well off of each other. The whole interior setup was just extremely appealing. Another observation was their extensive wine selection! They carry a pretty nice selection of wines for a place of its' size. Although I'm a lover of wine, I didn't want to continue drinking since we had just left the bar. I already knew what refreshment that I wanted; my old and faithful Thai iced tea! Damn, they are so addicting. And, Infinite Thai sugared me up really nice with their Thai iced tea! It tasted perfect! I was also quite impressed with the origami style rose that they created with the paper straw cover. Can you say, talent? We also ordered Pineapple fried rice, angel wings, and Tom Yum Goong which is a spicy hot and sour herb soup with prawns, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. Thaaaaat soup, though! It was bananas! Or wait... it was tomatoes! Or mushrooms... or onions?! Well, in any event... it was crazy good! Very flavorful with a subtle spiciness to it. The broth was just ridiculously good! It's one of those soups where I could just drink the broth all by itself without any additives to it. The pineapple fried rice was very tasty as well, but lacked in having an adequate amount of pineapples. The prawns, nuts, and other veggies more than made up for that though. I would have to say that the star of the show were those angel wings! Such a fitting title for them because they truly tasted "heavenly". Sweet, sticky, and perfectly glazed with a nice little kick to them. Basically, all that you'd want in a chicken wing! Service was spot on, and our server (who I believe was also one of the owners) checked in on us plenty of times during the evening. We ended up being the last table to leave, and they didn't make us feel uncomfortable or try to rush us out.
