Cozy Thai spot near Grand theater in Oakland. We went here on a Friday night, but were able to get seated right away. While we were dining in, we noticed a steady stream of take out orders too. We ordered the tom yum chicken soup (4/5), chicken pad kee mao (4/5) which was served with a side salad, chicken red curry served with rice (4/5). We enjoyed all the dishes. The portions are decent and we had leftovers to take back home which they kindly packed up for us. Our server was courteous, prompt and helpful - suggesting options based on our preferences, refilling waters and checking on us regularly. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food! i went to this place twice .. the hot & sour soup is very tasty .. sweet & spicy .. the second time i went there was a lot less chicken in the soup .. but more rice in my brown rice side order .. and the second time i asked what kind of desserts they had .. the menu that was then provided me had chocolate lava cake with ice cream for $10 .. when i got my check i was charged $13 .. when i brought this to the server's attention i was told that that was an ".. old menu .." price .. the ".. old menu .." being the one i was provided with .. i don't like being weasled .. read more

I dropped in here on a weekday for lunch and they weren't too busy. There's metered street parking in the area. I was intrigued by the lime Thai tea on the menu never having tried it before. It was a bit brighter in flavor than the standard Thai iced tea. I tried the praram with tofu and the veggie medley stir fry. Both were very flavorful and filling so we had to take the rest to go. I've been coming to Neecha Thai for over 20 years, enjoying their FBI (Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream) dessert with my dad when I was younger and graduating to the veggie version of their Pad Se Ew once I grew up and went vegetarian. They cook their tofu perfectly--firm, browned, and delicious! Nestled amongst a pile of well-seasoned eggplant and basil or strewn atop a bowl of yummy Pad Se-Ew, it's everything you need and more. The Thai Iced Tea is another well-balanced gem: sweet enough without being overwhelming, and always wonderfully smooth. I also love their Veggie Rolls (the fried version... I'm not a Spring Roll type of girl.) The restaurant is a small, pretty intimate space with small wooden tables and chairs and an open kitchen heaving the fragrance of spices and herbs high in the air. (Not in an overpowering way, don't worry.) All of the staff there are absolutely sweet and have always been for the decades I've been coming. I'm glad to see that they're an Oakland spot continuing to thrive and I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a taste of some quality Thai made with love. read more

What a treat for my palate!!! Had the lychee salad that came with sliced free apples, cut of strawberries, wedge avocado and three beer battered shrimp over greens. Lite but creamy dressing that didn't overpower all the fruit but was a tasteful complement. Just scrumptious!!! Kao soi was amazing - so much flavor! It had an abundance of protein (we ordered chicken), veggies, noodles, and most importantly it had lots of flavor! The food came out piping hot and the delicious curry flavor tasted like a combo of yellow curry and panag. The curry puffs were also probably the best appetizer I've ever had - fresh and crispy, loved the flavors of the yam and taro! You could taste them but it was also not overwhelming at the same time. I will say - we also ordered the Rad Na and I can't say I was a big fan. The gravy was on the more oily and salty side (like a soy sauce kind of gravy) but if that's your thing then by all means go for it. Also would like to mention that the service was great! So yummy! Stopped by for an impromptu post workout lunch. The food was really fresh and the service was wonderful. We each had the pad Thai and shared the corn cakes which were delicious. It has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the East bay. The food here has big portion, full of Thai species, and diverse varieties. We ordered two different type of rice plate. I wanted to find a place near me to eat out. I looked at their menu on their own website. I went inside to order. After I got it I notice there was no rice and no salad. It was just noodles. I tried to show them on their site said came with jasmine rice after he said it's doesn't come with it. He didn't want to look to acknowledge it was his site I was showing him. My favorites are pumpkin chicken curry, lamb curry, and Salmon Bowl. I tend to go back to my favorites. However, when I try something else, I still enjoy the food. Wine is my favorite drink, and the Cabernet Sauvignon served is just what I need. The restaurant's plants make it feel like eating in a beautiful garden. The service is outstanding. Linda is super friendly and welcoming. She will check in to make sure you have everything you need. Ton, at the counter, is attentive to the customers. Just had some absolutely fire food from Neecha tonight. Pork Fried Rice -- a star. A legend. An icon. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly textured, fresh tasting pork. I had seconds. If I lived alone I would've eaten the whole thing. Pad See Ew with Chicken -- great flavor and a fun surprise of little mushrooms throughout. Could've used more veggies. YUM- highly recommend the Pad See Ew noodle dish at Neecha Thai. I recently had it with shrimp and it was delicious. I hadn't liked their yellow chicken curry when I had dined there in person a while back but thought that this most recent experience warranted them an extra star. The delivery service was prompt and efficient, the Pad See Ew had the delicious savory sweet sauce, it was hot, the noodles were cooked well, and there was an abundance of ingredients overall- veggies and 5 large shrimp pieces (bonus points!). I had been starving after a late night in the office and it seriously brought me back to life. I nearly ate the whole meal but I fortunately decided to save the rest for lunch the next day as the full feeling hit me a few minutes later. I'm a huge fan of Neecha as my local Thai place! I've come here many times and often for a quick yummy and hearty lunch! Some of my favorite things here are the curry puffs, curries, the garlic shrimp and the garlic ribs! I will say, when the garlic ribs are good, they're amazing, and also why I keep ordering them, but there are times when I've ordered this and it's been dry.
