Literally everything was perfect until I got down to my last bites and realized there were bugs in my rice. This was really an unfortunate situation and I hope they can really take from this and consider checking their food or storage routine. I'm really sad to say this but I can't trust dining here again.

I've been trying to find a new Thai spot cause my favorite one closed. This by far is the best one in the area. Everything is so well seasoned and will be coming back often. I ordered the roti with yellow curry sauce and pork pad Thai. Again very well seasoned. The roti isn't super greasy like others I've tried. I personally like sweeter pad thai so this is perfect. It's not super sweet but I've had some with almost no flavor and all color. The price is a bit more expensive than others but well worth it for great food. Service is a bit slow only because the served looks young and new but I'm in no rush and again she seems new. Place is clean and lit will, great atmosphere.

5* This place is consistently fantastic! I have been getting food from here throughout the pandemic and the flavors, freshness and service had been impeccable. This local business really is a gem and I eat here whenever I can! My go to orders are the Green curry chicken ($14 approx) which is full of delicious vegetables, well cooked chicken and the best green curry ever! It is light, flavorful and well seasoned 12/10 and the Eggplant Tofu which is such a great way to eat healthy because the flavors are on point! Perfect spice and perfect preparation every time 12/10. If you like eggplant you will love this dish! The two items and other dishes on their menu are good value for money and such great meal options to take back home. What I love is that its a healthy and well balanced meal every time :) I saw they recently opened indoor dining as well and have specials for lunch and eating indoors. If you are in the area I highly recommend this place, please check it out!

Came here on a Thursday evening and it was pretty empty. We got the angel wings as an appetizer since stuffed wings seemed like an interesting concept. They were pretty good. I also got the Kao Soi as my main dish which is my go to at Thai places. I didn't love the initial sweetness in taste (the spicier flavors came as an aftertaste) but it was still pretty solid. Overall, I would return.

They are open again!!…read more I visited Millennium the day of the re-opening in June 2026. I was so happy to find out that the food is still among the best food I've eaten, vegan or not. The new concept is prix fixe dinners on the heated, covered patio, and à la carte inside for walk-ins. I ordered from the à la carte menu and it was awesome. So easy. So delicious. My table ordered the cascatelli pasta, smoky glazed tempeh, coriander & arborio crusted oyster mushroom, and for dessert the summer sundae and chocolate tart. We were sharing so I got a taste of everything. Just amazing. It tastes just as good as before but feels much more approachable and affordable with the new concept. And you can still get the fine dining experience if you want it. I can't wait to go back on a Tuesday to try the pizza. I've heard it described as the best vegan pizza in the Bay Area by people who know what good pizza is, and I can't wait to try it. All food is vegan, and almost everything is gluten free.

I came here with my family, who had been here before it closed and re opened. They have a fixed…read moremenu and an à la carte menu. You can only order the fixed menu on the patio, and the à La carte menu inside. But it doesn't say that anywhere. This is one of those places that takes a paragraph to describe a dish, but you still won't know what you're getting unless you're the chef because of the descriptions and names that they call things. We decided to stay inside and go à la carte. My family each got the veggie burger, and I went with the pasta. They seemed to like their burgers. I like my food to be a bit more straightforward, so I thought the pasta would be a safe bet. It came with a smear of pesto on the side of the dish which, although looks fancy, made the dish very impractical. Mixed in with the pasta was some arugula and cooked cherry tomatoes which they describe as a confit, but they're not. Just cooked tomatoes. The shape of the pasta was kind of difficult because it splits length wise and makes it impossible to stab with a fork, which you have to do in order to get some of the pesto on it. Over all, it was good, but I think I'd prefer a different shape of pasta and have the pesto on it instead of on the side. One thing that kind of bothered me was that my pasta came with no sides of any kind. And the portion was "fancy" so it wasn't generous. But it was the same price as the burger, which was piled so high that you literally can't fit it into your mouth, and they came with a generous side of veggies. So my family took half of their burger and all their sides home after only eating half each, and I finished my pasta and had room for more. For the same price. So I'd say the pasta is not a good value. Service wise, we had to ask for them to bring drinks that we ordered, even though they weren't busy. The ambiance was ok. Music not too loud, so we were able to talk to each other. I definitely wouldn't have chosen to come here but I guess people like places like this. I just like to know what's going on my food without needing an encyclopedia and a decoder ring.

The place was quiet and had a calming atmosphere. Service was attentive and nice. I ordered the Yee Fu Won Ton Soup and Sesame Cold Noodles. My server made sure I understood that the Yee Fu Won Ton Soup had eggs in it. We discussed it's recipe, and she told me the dumplings have a tofu filling. The egg flower soup was perfect, and I could of enjoyed it without the won ton dumplings. The Sesame Cold Noodles were great. I was full from the won ton soup, but one taste of the Sesame Noodles made me want to keep eating it. The thick ropey noodles had a balanced savory taste of nuts, sesame, garlic, chili oil and vinegar. I had the idea of taking it home to finish it, but the dish seemed addictive. Instead of turning us away, the staff graciously seated us and welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness. That level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. Our server, Hameed, was absolutely wonderful--so patient, attentive, and gracious even though we arrived at such an inconvenient time. He made us feel completely welcome and never rushed us. The food, as always, was extraordinary. The Tea Leaf Salad and Samosas were exquisite--bright, complex, and perfectly balanced. This was my nephew's first time trying Burmese cuisine and he was completely blown away. For our mains, I had the Shredded Mint Chicken, which was fragrant, fresh, and packed with flavor. My nephew ordered the Chili Lamb, and he loved every bite--rich, savory, and beautifully spiced. It was one of those meals where every dish delights, and you leave already thinking about what you'll order next time. Burma Superstar has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland, and experiences like this are exactly why. Exceptional food, exceptional hospitality, and a team that truly cares about their guests. I will continue to recommend Burma Superstar most highly to anyone looking for a memorable meal in the East Bay.

Things changed: more breading on the chicken (spicy crispy chicken) and reduced protein in some of the other dishes, too. But the flavors still hit and its popularity hasn't dimmed much on the nights I've gone over the last few years. I bought their cookbook years back but much of what I like isn't in it, so I keep coming back for the food and community vibes. There is a communal table, which I appreciate though I tend to sit at the bar when I go alone. It's worth it to get a view of what's happening all around you. The B S in Alameda doesn't have the same energy or coziness, but it is easier to access with safer parking (now windows broken there but I've had that here and been hassled walking to/from) and dramatically shorter waits. The diversity of the diners is much lower than this one though (Alameda is still mostly old white people) and the menu has more options here, so I'll continue to return again and again and recommend it to others ... and hope to not have to replace car windows.

Every single element was delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend everything I got. It was my perfect bowl! My boyfriend chose: - jasmine rice - paprika chicken - charred broccoli - chimichurri mushrooms - pickled onions - jalapeño lime dressing His bowl was also so delicious. I thought that the chicken tasted like a better, higher quality chipotle chicken. The ingredients were so fresh tasting, and the jalapeño lime dressing was so good. I also wanted to give their desserts a try, so we went with the dark chocolate chip cookie. This was the most "gluten free" tasting thing out of everything we got.
