I saw the Indy Gas Works van at a local business and decided to call and get an estimate to fix a leak in the gas line to my fireplace. I am very glad I did. Darren had a great idea to fix the leak which didn't include tearing the wall apart near the fireplace. Not only that he charged half as much as another estimate I received. It took a few weeks to get the parts but Shawn (who is very friendly and helpful as well) called to set up the appointment for the repair. The leak was fixed, my wall remained in one piece and I can use my fireplace again. Darren is very friendly, works hard and takes great care to do the job right. Darren came to service both of my gas fireplaces, one of which was old and had a gas leak. He cleaned it out, replaced the valve, and got it looking brand new. Best of all, no more gas smell coming from the fireplace! He showed me step by step how to light the fireplace and checked both for potential leaks while I was watching. I suspected a gas leak coming from my stovetop and Darren performed a test, which indicated a few leaks. I am in Real Estate/property management and deal with contractors on a daily basis. I have never in my professional career been treated with such a blatant act of disrespect. After 6+ weeks of not receiving the glass I was continually told was on the way, Darren left me a voicemail saying that they no longer make the glass he said he had ordered. When I called him back I asked him what happened and why it took so long for him to advise me of the situation. His response was "Are you going to let me in the house to measure or not?" I then asked again for an explanation, which any reasonable business owner would provide after dropping the ball like this, and he then proceeded to hang up on me. It honestly left me blown away.
