I contacted Grateful Plumber through Yelp's project feature. I noted that they were a plumber that qualified for Yelp's guarantee program, a neat program that I've fortunately never had to use. I did my initial contact outside of business hours. Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. I do not recommend doing business with this company. I paid $265 to replace my wax seal. Two days later, my toilet is again leaking into my basement. The owner now wants to charge me an additional $370 to replace the tank bolts. When I scheduled a toilet repair, I expected the job to done completely. Instead, I'm out $265 for a wax ring and I'm replacing tank bolts myself. It is unfortunate because I've had pleasant experiences with this company in the past. Our timeline for the work changed, so I called back on Monday to cancel mid-dayTuesday appt. We had a really smooth and lovely experience with the Grateful plumber. We noticed some sediment coming through our drinking water and quickly reached out to them to flush our water heater and get an estimate for a new water heater and water softener. Needed water heater replaced. They were able to come the next day, took the time to not only do the job, but to make sure that any previous problems were fixed. They noticed issues with placement and exhaust, and they corrected these and let me know about their fixes to prevent future problems. Very kind people. Water is now easier to control the temperature of, and I have the peace of mind that the water is now clean and that I shouldn't have to worry about the water heater for quite some time! On Sunday night, my water heater gave out. Monday morning, I called early and much to my surprise, Adam the owner answered. After checking his schedule, he agreed to come out that same day. Since you wanted to respond as I said in the post another plumber came and showed me the thermocouple. Explained what it did and explained why that was the problem. Changed the thermocouple out. You touched the top Of the water heater told me It could be the gas valve but no way to know unless you changed it. $549. Then sent me a quote that was ridiculous. $3000+ I gave you 2 stars because you were not disrespectful now it's 1 because you wanna make it look like I'm in the wrong as with EVERY response you have. I said I had to speak with my wife because I needed a second opinion (wanted to know if what I heard was right with the 2nd opinion) and wanted her input. I remember being surprised because it was after 5/6, what I would have considered outside normal business hours. I was able to schedule service for my garbage disposal within 4 days. This review incorporates three separate visits to my home by Grateful Plumbers. Friday, 8/7/20 an estimate, Monday, 8/10/20 rough plumbing and Friday, 8/14/20 connecting plumbing and installation of vanity. Adam, with Grateful Plumbers, came out last week to provide an estimate for plumbing a new dual sink bathroom vanity from a single sink vanity and then complete hook-up and installation after movers get vanity from garage into bathroom location. Adam was professional, had competetive pricing and honest about concerns he could encounter with a 65 year old house. Adam's concerns were justified when he returned on Monday to plumb the new drains and water lines. Several things weren't where we expected or it was an extremely tight fit into the existing space. I was thinking a new, simple T-drain off the existing drain when I purchased the new vanity but not so much. Regardless, Adam made everything work with a few modifications. Next, and last, the new vanity was moved into place by Bell Hop Movers. They did an awesome job moving the heavy vanity with the marble top and sinks already attached. More to come under their business. Adam worked within our schedule and budget, his apprentice, Brandon, was major helpful, both were polite, down-to-earth and did a good job.
