Ruined yard that they refuse to fix

I don't know anything about their plumbing and HVAC. I used their electrical service in May of 2027. The goal was simple: remove the overhead line feeding the house 100A 220VAC residential service with a buried line (via conduit) to the pole including an upgrade to 200A service, connecting to an existing breaker panel. Entrance to the house is a straight shot through the back yard to the pole at the property line with my neighbor, about 110 foot in length. The original estimate was extraordinarily high compared to competitors, but was assured by reviews and the original estimator that Peterman would stand by their work. The "re-estimate" came in at $5000 higher and that should have been a red-flag. The re-estimator basically said the guy who originally estimated it was a dolt and you can't trust salesmen. I learned later, you can't trust Peterman. I'm in the trades, but retired, so I know what's right and what's wrong. The purely electrical part of it is fine, but the execution of the upgrade was an unmitigated disaster. Nothing is square, nothing is plumb, conduits are off plumb and not properly tied to the house. I spent hundreds replacing or repairing damaged ties straps, fencing, pavers, etc. The original estimator assured me they could push the conduit through under the pavers and fencing. That was their first lie. They ended up bringing in a mini backhoe with a 30" (!!!) wide bucket to dig for a 4" pipe. They obliterated my back yard, digging a massive pit, laying the pipe crooked, twisted and stressed in the bottom after weeks and weeks of delays. When they finally filled in the pit weeks later, it had already begun to collapse on both sides, distorting the conduit even further. When the "field manager" FINALLY showed up on the job (he never once showed up DURING the installation even after my repeated calls to Peterman that things were not going well), all the work except the backfill was done. Although I agreed not to publish his name, after all of this, I don't think he deserves any protection: Austin Hale. He PROMISED me that this fall they would send in a grading company to smooth and reseed the lawn. It is so rough and chaotic now that I've been unable to mow it and now it has 3' tall weeds that I'm sure the health department will be issuing me a citation soon. Will Peterman pay for that? Don't hold your breath. I contacted Peterman this morning to find out when this grading would be done and they informed me that it was not contracted and there would be an additional fee to do that. In other words, Austin bald-faced LIED to me. I would never ask these people back to my home ever again because they'd screw up the house and property even more and then claim that "catastrophic damage" to the property wasn't covered under the contract and it would be an additional $250,000 for that repair. Idiots. For electrical, never Peterman. Any suggestions to somebody moral would be welcomed. For plumbing, I recommended Williams Comfort Air ("Mr Plumber"). Maybe not as cheap as the schmoe down the street, but HONEST. For HVAC, Love HVAC (a small local company) is excellent, founded decades ago, willing to go the extra mile and HONEST. Note who didn't get an HONEST rating? They come across - assaulting you with their toothy, goofy, doofy grins every morning during the local news - as if they have a "hometown" morality about them. They don't. They are greedy corporate cucks. They do crap work, refuse to communicate with you during installation and will gleefully screw you out of every dime possible.

Grateful Plumber - Grateful Plumber, the best in plumbing service in Indianapolis

Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

Ken Moore Plumbing - Side of the truck through my window.

My dad's water heater was nearly twenty years old and needed to be replaced. It took a little over…read moretwo weeks to get an appointment with Ken Moore Plumbing because they were fully booked, but we figured they are good if they are that high in demand. They also came recommended by my uncle that is a carpenter/contractor. Ken Moore Plumbing was to be here yesterday at noon and were actually a half hour early. Ken himself was here along with another man. They backed their truck in and got to work straight away after I showed them to the basement. Within an hour and a half, they were all done. They had replaced the water heater and taken the old one away to the truck. Mr. Moore brought the invoice up for me to sign and got the air out of the line by turning on the kitchen sink. He took a look at a leaky bathtub faucet for me and told me where we could go from there to get parts and have it fixed... The water heater had hot water within a half hour and seems to be functioning much better than the old one. The water is even hotter now than with the other water heater though it is on a much lower setting. They swept up most of the mess and it was almost like they were never here. In and out, but thorough and efficient. If you call Ken Moore Plumbing, you are likely to get Mr. Moore himself on the phone. I like that it is a small outfit with no operator or prompts to go through. You may have to be patient getting an open window, but it is totally worth it. Great service at a fraction of what another company quoted. I highly recommend for anyone needing a new water heater or other plumbing.

He had a hypothesis right off the bat, checked out the furnace and with that confirmed his hypothesis, that it was a faulty blower motor that had seized up, freezing the whole top of the furnace completely. To ease my mind he allowed me to put a towel in there to make sure the wiring did not get damaged by the water. I will keep going back to Chapman for heating and cooling issues. I also have seen that they take care of so much more so, I will be looking into other things, if we need anything else. Again thank you Christopher and Chapman!! THE MIDDLETON'S BOBBI-JO AND RODGER Update...11/15/2026 I had a call from the dispatcher at Chapman call, I cannot recall her name but she is very polite, sorry miss, I apologize. But she advised me the price of the blower motor due to it being a VERY DIFFERENT AND HARD PART TO FIND, not only that but of course our luck the manufacturer warranty expired 2 years ago, it is going to be VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. So not sure how much the labor is going to cost but I am sure it will be fair. We are looking at at least 2 grand. YIPPEE FOR US!! We were looking forward to going on a cruise but still have to fix a vehicle also so that may not be happening, I tell ya what when it rains it pours huh, people. Life sinks!! Well at least I can thank Chapman and Christopher for helping me out of this mess!! THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP!!

This time around, I've gotten the chance to try out Chapman to address some electrical issues in the house. Truthfully, I wasn't aware that Chapman handled electrical. I'd begun having some significant electrical issues a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. I called another company that I'd used for a smaller project with good results. They came over and did some minor adjustments, however, they noted there were significant issues and planned to send me an estimate. They did let me know this "fix" was more like a band-aid and the significant work was inevitable. It was less than a day when the "band-aid" stopped working. I waited a bit anticipating their estimate, though also disappointed that they'd done such a weak fix. Finally, things got WAY worse. It was shortly before Thanksgiving and the situation was urgent. I left a message for Chapman anticipating that I was likely out of luck for the holiday weekend. My general sense was that was their plan, too. However, I think the rep (I believe her name was Hannah) heard the panic in my voice and I explained my situation. She arranged for a technician to visit the house the next day. This tech did agree that the issue was serious and warranted a few major repairs. He explained it well and explained my options. To be honest, I'm usually quite cheap. However, when he gave me two options I went with the more expensive option as I really wanted to make sure the fix was done properly. I was tired of band-aids. They used my initial service call as a down payment and the electrician, Rodney as I recall, scheduled it and made sure he would be the electrician for the project (NOTE: In reality, this ended up being a 2-3 person job). The only slight hiccup was that I'd been told they'd arrive at 8am. In reality, I called them at 10am and learned they were having trouble finding one needed part. That was fine, though I should have been called. Around 11:15, and somewhat surprisingly, they arrived and dug in. Seven hours later? They were done. I was particularly touched by a neat gesture - I'm a wheelchair user. In their estimate, the electrician had written that he'd be putting my new panel in at wheelchair height. This wasn't something I asked for particularly, however, it was a pretty cool gesture recognizing my needs. Rodney explained everything and was entirely work focused. He completed the work as promised and the cost was exactly as quoted. He explained a couple other concerns - including one that wouldn't be a Chapman issue, however, he explained how it could impact the electric. I've now had Chapman work on my furnace and my electric. Are they more expensive? Yeah, I'd say so. If you're looking for a budget electrician, Chapman probably isn't that. However, in all three visits the work has been done and done well. They've avoided band-aids and actually fixed issues. Their quotes have been accurate. The employees have been professional. With the exception of today's tardiness, the experiences have all been impeccable. Truthfully, I should have likely called Chapman first. While I may not call them for smaller issues, the truth is for me it's worth a bit more to get the work done right. The work is warrantied and I now have a system that should last for years and is also accessible. That other company? I still don't have their estimate. Chapman wins.
