This time around, I've gotten the chance to try out Chapman to address some electrical issues in the house. Truthfully, I wasn't aware that Chapman handled electrical. I'd begun having some significant electrical issues a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. I called another company that I'd used for a smaller project with good results. They came over and did some minor adjustments, however, they noted there were significant issues and planned to send me an estimate. They did let me know this "fix" was more like a band-aid and the significant work was inevitable. It was less than a day when the "band-aid" stopped working. I waited a bit anticipating their estimate, though also disappointed that they'd done such a weak fix. Finally, things got WAY worse. It was shortly before Thanksgiving and the situation was urgent. I left a message for Chapman anticipating that I was likely out of luck for the holiday weekend. My general sense was that was their plan, too. However, I think the rep (I believe her name was Hannah) heard the panic in my voice and I explained my situation. She arranged for a technician to visit the house the next day. This tech did agree that the issue was serious and warranted a few major repairs. He explained it well and explained my options. To be honest, I'm usually quite cheap. However, when he gave me two options I went with the more expensive option as I really wanted to make sure the fix was done properly. I was tired of band-aids. They used my initial service call as a down payment and the electrician, Rodney as I recall, scheduled it and made sure he would be the electrician for the project (NOTE: In reality, this ended up being a 2-3 person job). The only slight hiccup was that I'd been told they'd arrive at 8am. In reality, I called them at 10am and learned they were having trouble finding one needed part. That was fine, though I should have been called. Around 11:15, and somewhat surprisingly, they arrived and dug in. Seven hours later? They were done. I was particularly touched by a neat gesture - I'm a wheelchair user. In their estimate, the electrician had written that he'd be putting my new panel in at wheelchair height. This wasn't something I asked for particularly, however, it was a pretty cool gesture recognizing my needs. Rodney explained everything and was entirely work focused. He completed the work as promised and the cost was exactly as quoted. He explained a couple other concerns - including one that wouldn't be a Chapman issue, however, he explained how it could impact the electric. I've now had Chapman work on my furnace and my electric. Are they more expensive? Yeah, I'd say so. If you're looking for a budget electrician, Chapman probably isn't that. However, in all three visits the work has been done and done well. They've avoided band-aids and actually fixed issues. Their quotes have been accurate. The employees have been professional. With the exception of today's tardiness, the experiences have all been impeccable. Truthfully, I should have likely called Chapman first. While I may not call them for smaller issues, the truth is for me it's worth a bit more to get the work done right. The work is warrantied and I now have a system that should last for years and is also accessible. That other company? I still don't have their estimate. Chapman wins.

The furnace tech diagnosed the furnace as needing at least a new control board and couldn't be sure other parts weren't bad. The furnace was full of ice. Based on the price of the potential repairs, it made more sense to replace the furnace. The installers arrived first thing the next morning and we had heat around lunch time. Everyone from Chapman was clean, courteous and did great work. It wasn't cheap for any of this, but we feel that the prices were reasonable, especially since we were 100% done the very next day.

I had a tub drain that was draining slowly and had 24-7 come out, I could tell that this was just a drain stopper clogged up with hair. Steve told me the stopper was seemed stuck and he wouldn't be able to do any work unless I approved the estimate which stated "Clear clog with no drain machine" for $288! I questioned them about the service fee. It does not include any service - They should call it an estimate fee. I had a handyman come out and he took out the stopper and cleaned the hair there. It works great. I wouldn't be disappointed if they just took 10 mins to clean out the hair. Jason L from 24-7 Plumbing stated they waived the $89 fee on his response to my review. But that did not happen. I tried calling to confirm but no one has returned my calls. It's not honest to say something here in this forum and not do it.

Hannah was helpful on the phone and worked around my scheduled meetings to fit me in for a diagnostic visit the next afternoon. Ryan N texted me in advance to let me know when technician was on his way. Brett S arrived promptly, inspected the water heater and asked some questions, and then he explained two options, a fix of a pressure valve or a new water heater. Ryan called and explained pricing for each option. I chose replacing the heater, since it was 8 years old and already out of warranty. And Brett S., with help from Caleb B. who came to assist, was able to complete the installation that same afternoon. Everyone was professional and courteous, their pricing was reasonable, and they didn't try and upsell other services in a pushy manner as I've experienced with others in the past. I will contact them again and would recommend Cornwell.

I had some understanding of the situation and I know NOTHING about plumbing. He didn't try to add on extra services or un-necessary repairs. He was on time, very polite and solved our problems. It's obvious how knowledgeable and experienced he is. We thought this malfunction involving the septic system and our bathrooms was going to become a very expensive monster. It was manageable and we were all able to sleep easy that night. He is going to come back next week to check up on things and advised us to call if we have further issues. The previous owners had "maintenance" contract setup so we decided to continue it the last 5 years…read more Each time the techs come I am uncomfortable with the pressure they put on and the general sketchy feel I get from the techs (never the same one twice - they seem to have high turnover). These guys have CONSISTENTLY recommended extra charges, repairs, replacement for our units that were unnecessary. Once we were able to research and repair our a/c unit ourselves for less than $100 they they quoted over $500. Most recently, the tech gave a $2500 quote to repair our furnace unit but immediately said it wasn't worth it and set up for us to get quotes for them to replace it (those quotes were from $10-22k). After getting a second opinion (different company), it was repaired DURING the service call for $125! This tech said the unit was in great condition and simply needed the snow cleared from the intake pipe. The second tech assured us that we should get another 5-10 years from our furnace after Summer's has tried to get us to replace it consistently the last 2 years. While it was frustrating to be in the situation, I felt assured that David wasn't going to take advantage or take any short cuts while fixes someone else's mistakes. He communicated very well- he gave me updates on when he'd arrive for both the quote and the work. He was very professional, wore booties around the house, cleaned up all the messes from the installation and ensured we were 100% happy before leaving. He also gave a range of options for the repair/replacement; ie fix the current leak, fix the worst part vs total replacement. In addition, he let us know his work is guaranteed and to call if there are any issues. Again, to be in a situation where someone you hired did not do the job they were supposed to, it is very frustrating and you feel very taken advantage of. David came in and completely reversed the situation and gave us a ton of advice for next steps. It was great to work with him! We will be sure to use him for all our future plumbing needs!
